Not if you've got the ball. Maybe you should find a floaty type ball and attach a long line to it, then you can throw it out, let her swim and reel her in.

A bit of a brag here, Bronte and I were awarded the Underdog Training 'Most Successful Dog Owner Combination 2010', yesterday at the Christmas & 5th Birthday party. I think this ribbon is also dedicated to Tamara and Stuart, because without them, Bronte and I would be the 'Most Try Hard Dog Owner Combination' instead. How pretty is the sash though?

We might be able to make it too.

Looking forward to meeting your fosters Anniek. -
Good god TerraNik, I'm exhausted just reading that list. Go for it :D

I love Kairu's little christmas jacket. How cheeky is his face in that first photo?

I can see shades of my old Dobe in her. She's looks like a really nice dog and happy too.

Enter enter enter - we'll see you there Nik. -
AGAIN, I can't remember the name of the link, but NATSU CHAN sent me an awesome site to do this. It reverse trains the retrieve. Bronte is a great fetcher now. Maybe PM her.

My girl LOVES cats, doesn't chase horses and has a beautiful temperament. She has never really had a lot of exposure to children, mostly because I'm allergic to them (relax people, they are ok in small doses), but I'm positive she would be good with them if she had some regular exposure. The problem I have with my girl is that she doesn't get that not all cats appreciate dogs. But, she's always supervised with strange cats and other cats can't get into our yard because I have a cat net fence.

Depending on the date I could be in too. I go to Altona a bit and its alright, but I think all beaches smell - I'm not a beach fan, but that doesn't mean Bronte can't have fun there.

2010 Training/title/goals Wish List
SmoothieGirl replied to Seita's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
One more trial this year and then I'll join you on the 2011 page gang, don't want to jinx myself just yet. Potentially have to think up goals for two dogs as well, as along with Wuffles, there is likely to be 'one yet to be born' joining my tiny dog sport team. -
KG, I didn't know you were such a good photographer. Might have to con/bribe you for some herding photos soon:)

LOVE the look on the cat's face - ooh they are little buggers aren't they. Beautiful cat though, Siamese have a special place in my childhood.

Private Dog Training Outer East Melbourne
SmoothieGirl replied to JulesP's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Jules, give Underdog Training a call, website is easy to find online too. Cosmolo is Tamara's DOL call name. They are probably not running any group classes over the break, but I imagine they will still do private lessons, maybe just not over the main Chrissy weeks. Bronte and I highly recommend them -
See ya there Jules.

Just Came Back From The Vet And Terribly Sad
SmoothieGirl replied to Moselle's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sorry for your loss Moselle. Run free Sophie, join all of our past loved ones and play zoomies to your hearts content. -
Check out the look on Dexters face in the one with Echo jumping over him - :D Also love the one of Dex doing a headstand onto his frisbee. What was it with him today, goofy boy. I think I like the first group shot the best too, but it turned out fantastic. I have some photos, but won't get them done tonight. Definitely need a Lappie fountain for the new place - put me on the order list;) So, did anyone end up taking home a soft toy instead of a Japanese Spitz or a Papillion? No? I'm just lulling you into a false sense of security, it might happen one day, you just won't see it coming.

I'll be in gumboots too, rain and herding friendly. I'll put in $5 to food as its really too late for me to arrange anything and we alwasys seem to have too much anyway. Btw I have $10 from other peoples previous food contributions throughout the year. I'll bring it and give it to someone that will be at the Dec event so it can be put to Christmassy stuff or something, as I won't be there. See you soon. Rottisliebe, might have a chat to you about the Sunbury Club, might be joining late next year after I move to Riddells.

Hi all Don't forget the Project Underdog Christmas Elf will be visiting - well I'll be there anyway. Maybe pick up a little something extra at the pet or stock shop tomorrow for a pooch or kitty less fortunate than our own. SG

Damn, I think I can get away with nicking a Jap Spitz and a Papi, but how the hell am I going to get a Std Poodle in my jumper and in the car before someone notices. I'm with you Kirst, love 'em too, but I'm not sold on a dog I have to have clipped regularly, I like mine a bit more wash and wear. MavMiss - I didn't see you sorry. I was going to stick around and chat to Tamara because Bronte is devoted to her and was pretty peeved that she couldn't just rush over and say hi, but Stuart said she had about another hour to go so we decided to go home instead. We are back there this week before Kepala.

We'll be there. But if its extreme weather we'll only drop by to collect for the Project Underdog Christmas Tree and a quick dash round. While storms don't scare Bronte as such, she gets very sensitive when its like that and won't leave my side, I think its the electricity in the air. If she won't play, there won't be much reason to stick around for too long. At the moment the weather report has a lot of ifs, buts and maybes about it though, so it might not be that bad.

You going to try and get the Pointer girls herding? Thems will have to be fast sheep for April.

This is a fantastic thread. The reunion video is just lovely, how excited is she to see Chloe, that's beautiful. Vickie I may have missed an earlier thread, but have you posted the background story on how you came to get Pep and how old she is etc? I'd love to read it. Btw, your fencing is excellent. Can you give me a brief description of it, I'll need some fencing done on my new place later next year.
