Dova

Well I've finally got the computer, OH was on all day yesterday, & yep I've got stuff to tell. I'm sooo pleased with both my girls , Pebbles passed & got 3rd with a score of 95 & Izzi passed with 92 points, woohoo 2 passes in one day & no head stands from Izzi . Pebbles is entered in novice at Dova next weekend, I'm not expecting to pass but we gotta start some where, & Izzi only needs one more pass to get her CCD so for next Sunday. If anyone needs videoing I'm happy to help if I'm not busy, just ask I don't bite, honest .

I'll be at SAODC & Dova, handed my entries in for Dova yesterday, thanks Xena. I had a good news bad news day yesterday , good news was Pebbles got her CCD with 92 points , she's entered in CCD next week but I've taken a chance & put her in Novice at Dova :D, expecting to fail but gotta start some where . Now for the bad news bit of the day, Izzi hmmm, in the heel work she did a head stand, honest, then doing the recall she dropped instead of sitting TWICE , & to top it all off she went down in the sit stay . Izzi did work really well in the heel work, except for the acrobatics of course, she was watching me all the time & her recall after the lay downs, was straight & her nose was right on my knees, so I was very happy with the good bits, had to ;) at the head stand & was at the going down in the sit, she's usually very good in the sit & drop stays, guess I'll just have to work on them a bit more. Big congradulations to DogSportObsessed & Xena ;), how good do you both feel.

Glad I'm not the only dill around, hoping to get Pebbles 3rd & Izzi's 2nd CCD pass tomorrow, maybe the weather will clear up a bit .

Who's going to the Gawler Obedience Trial tomorrow, just trying to see how many other idiot's there are out there . Been watching the weather here & it's blowing, raining, hailing & bl...y freezing, guess we'll all be turning a lovely shade of blue tomorrow, see you there :D .

I knew I shouldn't have looked at this posting , now I'm going to have to check this clean run place out , be gone evil temptresses .

Janba I think we're all guilty of confusing our poor dogs, Izzi & Pebbles will be good trial dogs if the DH yelling the orders gets her act together . Had a lesson Friday, in a howling gale, Izzi kept changing the way she worked to suit the sheep & Pebbles is coming along in leaps & bounds . Watch out next year the :D is trying to get it together & we'll be out there to get some titles . Our instructor keeps asking if I want to leave Izzi there, hmmm let me think about that "NOPE" .

I know why my dogs fail at the trials, yep the DH on the end of the lead but I'm working on it. At the moment I'm trying to proof Pebbles in the stand for exam, especially with male judges, we live out of town & walking up & asking a strange man "can you pat my dog ", could get me into trouble, like I said I'm working on it.

Nasty people have to put others down so they can cover their weaknesses & feel important. Congrats on your first trial, you'll be out there leaving the meany in your wake in no time :p.

Hope Ness feels better soon Sally, there must be some thing going arond, a friend's dog caught a virus a couple of weeks ago, he's gettiing better now. Don't be afraid to enter a Royal RubyStar, just get out there & enjoy being with your dog, they can't shoot you for not passing :p, I might give it a go next year .

Haven't rang them yet, but what size did you get and are they the black or galvanized ones. large galvanized with metal floor, I priced black ones in Mt Barker, $210 ea , galv. is fine by me.

You should be proud & bragging up a storm you've both come a long way & will only go up from here , congrats n big pats for a Sabre.

I brought 2 metal crates from the Dogs SA shop for $80 ea, picking them up next Thursday when I go to the Royal.

Have you tried the shop at Dogs SA, I've been looking around for 3 large crates & will try there when I get to Adelaide.

Tell ya all this bragging is making me want to , I can't even get out of CCD, I stuffed up for Izzi twice with very vague cues & Pebbles only needs one more pass. Now I'm deciding should I turn into a whiney little quitter or enter Gawler at the end of September, s'ok the entries are filled out & ready to post & I'm about to book a time for an obedience lesson . And by the way big congrats to all you braggers out there keep up the good work .

Congrats to every one at the trial, piper you did great . I had been stressing about something from Saturday but now it's all the way . In my 2nd run with Pebbles the judge said we'd passed then I got told we didn't because I'd grabbed Pebbles collar, , then we did. On the way home I kept thinking maybe I did without realising it, maybe I cheated to pass , well I watched the video yesterday & guess what, I didn't touch her collar so I didn't cheat .

I was very pleased with my two yesterday, Izzi had two passes & runner up high in trial & Pebbles had one pass . I stuffed up at the Y & took ages to get the sheep through with Pebbles, that's where I failed , she got 69 points all up but lost over half our points at the Y. Ah well we've got till next year now so can get plenty of training in before then . Oops forgot some thing, JC even got some work, Friday she brought the sheep in to draft out & put them on the trailer, then she loaded them Saturday morning & afternoon, haven't seen her eyes that bright for ages :p she was so excited.

WOW that many that's great for the club , so guess we won't be getting home before dark huh . Izzi & Pebbles biggest problem is me, maybe I can get my wonderful trainer to take them for me , nah, just get my rear into gear stop whining & get on with it.

Not brave my teacher threatened to hurt me if I didn't go more scared of her than the trial . Thanks for the advice Jules every little bit helps, pretty sure I've been getting told that but I get soooo when I'm out there I can't think straight, so tommorow I'll just get on with the job & stop being a .

You'll have plenty of time for lessons, there's no more trials till next year , the October one's been cancelled I think. Geez Janba where did you come from, you slipped in before I finished , thanks, any tips are appreciated .

This weekend Izzi & Pebbles are doing their first started course in herding, we're having a lesson tomorrow & bring the sheep home Friday, so we don't have to get up at 4am Saturday. I've got this awful feeling I'm going to fail miserably , Know the dogs can do it but I just can't seem stand in the right place to get the sheep through the obstacle ;). I'm going to get a huge piece of the gooiest chocolate cake from my favorite cake shop to drown my sorrows Saturday night with a . Does anyone mind if I do the whole drama queen bit on here Sunday, think before you say it's ok .

Had my lesson today & am a much happier vegimite :D , even Izzi was working soooo much better then I gave JC, the 12yo, a run & she worked really well, just got to work on her recall & I'll put her in a trial. JC comes when I call her but turns around & sit's, instead of facing me, no biggie & easy to fix, woohoo I'm ready for tomorrow. Any Adelaide DOL'ers at the trial beware there'll be a strange person walking around saying "can you pat my dog please" .

Unfortunately I couldn't go to that one, was very P...ed off but couldn't do anything about it, ah well having an obedience lesson tomorrow & hopefully, with a female judge, two passes on Saturday & that will be Pebbles CCD & two legs of Izzi's .
