  1. Don't let Zamba's age stop you Zug Zug it won't stop her . If we pass in our next trial Pebbles will have her title, her heeling is pretty good but to sharpen it up I'm doing catch up with her, SFE is surprisingly good, DOR good, can't go into her retrieval because she ain't got one except when I tell her to fetch chookie then she'll look every where to find chookie & bring it to me, unless I can fix that we won't be giong any further, HELP! .
  2. Thanks for that, just added it to my favorites list to watch, rewatch & hopefully learn, now if I could find some where to do/pactice agility.
  3. I'll give that a go, thanks Erny, only been doing obedience a year so I'm always looking for help with something, Izzi will focus on me but only for a very short time, a minute, then it's back to "ho hum bored now" so I make all sessions short & as rewarding as possible. Izzi changes completely when she's herding, now there's a dog with drive, she's totaly focused on the sheep & doing the job.
  4. What can I do with Izzi, She's got NO drive, no interest in toys, play, or pats, she eats the treats but isn't that interested in them, I use all sorts of food, chicken, lamb, steak, pork, fritz, sausage, cheese & dog treats. We got through CCD, just, but I'm pretty sure that'll be as far as we'll go because Izzi's just not an obedience dog, I love her & wouldn't trade her for the world . Been great watching the videos keep em coming .
  5. Thanks huski that gives me some where to start from, if I don't start now we won't be even nearly ready for the next grade .
  6. That's great Tiggy , I love being able to whistle the dogs, to bad I can't use it in a trial . Hope you can whistle without using your fingers, theres times you just don't want to put them in your mouth .
  7. Pebbles has one more pass to get her Novice title, just to make things interesting I've been teaching her to go over jumps & into the box now I need to teach her to retrieve. Pebbles loves fetching her "chookie", but what's the best way to teach her to do the whole retrieve thing, I guess your all thinking "well DUH" but I have , she's the first dog I've done obedience with so any help would be great.
  8. The vet came out to put one of our dogs down 2yrs ago & he was great, I'm stressing real bad at the moment because I might have to make the decision again today . Hoping the vet will give JC antibiotics or something & she'll be fine, I'll know in about an hour so Rubyred I really feel for you.
  9. Yeah what was I thinking sleep is for babies, it was a beautiful night though even when the sprinklers started up . Thanks Rivsky, it was good to meet you, how did you go.
  10. Well I have tried to resist as long as possible with this thread, Hello to all this is Dova's OH Let me tell you about the time when I was much younger and living at home with Mum & Dad on 3000 acres, now we being off the land have always only drank rain water, not that town stuff, thats bad for you! well Mum questioned that it was tasting funny, Me and Dad said Nah, our coffee tastes fine. this went on for a few weeks, until one day we also thought well maybe it is tasting a bit off? So i went to investigate thinking maybe a swallow might have tried to make a nest in it and the mud might be dropping in. I wish when I climb up on top and stuck my head into the inspection hole for a bit of a squiz, thinking can't see anything, Just then the carcass of a dead cat which must have fell in, not one of ours so a wild cat floated pass with the body at water level and all around the edge was a big row of maggots, which looked like an old time viking ship with all the oarsmen rowing it along Well I did say to Dad I think it's time for a new tank, so it was pushed over with the tractor and a new one put up soon after We didn't look in the other tank we used for the time being as we figured, if you don't know it can't hurt you, Hope you aren't having breakfast right now!! Cheers all
  11. I'd have them in a flash but it's just a bit to far to drive, ah well keep looking.
  12. One more pass to go, I'll probably enter the February night trail & hope that we get home way before 2am . Thanks Bedazzledx2, feel so much better now I've had some sleep .
  13. Oops I'm such a try 2009 brags, well I was sort of right it was before midnight when Pebbles passed, told you I was tired .
  14. Last night Pebbles not only passed in Novice, 185, she came second woohoo what a good girl, I made some stupid little mistakes but she still worked her little tailless rump off for me , she earned her tin of sardines. Another small brag, about Delta, she's never been anywhere & last night was such a little , just layed there watching or sleeping, I'm a happy doggy owner right now . Now I'm off to get some , getting home at 2am & getting up at 5.30 for work has knocked the stuffing out of me & gotta go back at 5pm , night all.
  15. I've got a brag but will put it in the brags thread, this one is to say a huge thankyou to Zug Zug for looking after my dogs last night you're an , I got Delta home safely after a certain person wanted to steal her . I had a great time last night, even though I got home at 2am & had to get up at 5.30 to go to work , look forward to seeing you both at the next trial. Now off to the brags .
  16. Woohoo we're coming thanks Zug Zug & Rivsky I'll shout you a cold drink tonight .
  17. Yep sorry bout that ;) just reminiscing about the good ;) ol days . Mandela is in the right home & is getting the best care possible , hope the New Year is a great one for you & Mandela
  18. ;) Sorry about laughing, coming off a farm I can't count the times I've seen maggotts & assorted crawley or slimey things. Me & my brother use to go out in the paddock & burst bloated cow guts with a knife, after a beast had been killed to eat, real nice after a few days in the sun. Anyway Erny hope Mandela gets better real soon, I always worry when my animals are sick.
  19. At the moment it looks like I won't be able to go , with 4 dogs & it's to hot to leave 3 in the car while I work one, unless I can come up with a solution guess I'll be watching TV with all 4 tonight. But haven't given up yet, can I put my crate next to one of you pleeeeease ?
  20. Gawlers getting close & I've been training hard so we don't have the same wander off & sniff problem with Pebbles, I hope . Also just started to teach Pebbles the send away, ok we may never get to use it in a trial but she's doing pretty well & coming back over a jump that's out to the left or right of me , sooo proud of her. Might scratch Izzi though, knew she wouldn't pass when I entered but she probably won't even get through half of the heel work, guess I'll decide on the night. See you in 4 more
  21. My boss is going & taking her Poodle, Dior, of course that means there will only be two uf us ruining, oops running , her buisiness for a week . I know she's really looking forward to it.
  22. What's even worse is that not only am I spending NYE at an obedience trial but I entered Izzi in novice knowing that hell would freeze over before she would ever pass, she's a herder not an obed. trialer . At least people will get a laugh while Izzi wanders around sniffing & saying "yeah I'll be there in a minute, you go on without me" ah but I her all the same . Good luck at the show jinkispirit & Tassie hope you both have lots of brags to share next year .
  23. Go for it you've got nothing to lose, I've entered Izzi in the novice new years eve & I know she'll fail, but I as we're going to be there anyway I thought what the hell . Good luck Agility dogs & have fun that's what it's all about .
  24. Gotta feel sorry for her, note hint of sarcasm , the only way she can feel important is by putting someone else down very loudly in front of an audience , what a looser. Keep up the good work huski, you must have been doing well or she wouldn't have felt soooo insecure .
