  1. Piper, is there one or two instinct tests in April or any way of doing an instinct with Delta so I can enter her in a PT. I put her around the course, first time, on Tuesday & she worked great, even penned the sheep, can't wait to get the Dogs SA magazine so I can send my entries, really looking forward to the trial .
  2. I'm not talking to my dog at the moment , might even give up OK not really, but don't think I'll go to those grounds again. Pebbles bombed big time last night, she stopped & sniffed & it was all over, did do a really nice SFE, recall & COP. Guess we'll see what happens next weekend, oops forgot I'm quitting aren't I .
  3. Got another little brag, Thursday we went herding training & all three worked great & Izzi is over her/my problem because she was almost back to her old self again ;). Pebbles is going better than I ever dreamed she would & Delta is showing a lot of promise now all I have to do is teach her the side & stop cues :D. Now if Pebbles passes tonight at the obed trial it will be the perfect week , I'll be on here bragging up a storm .
  4. What ya reccon 3 isn't enough
  5. I want to have a little, very little, brag , last night a friend & I went to Strath for our first agility training session, I used Pebbles & Izzi & she had her two Min. Pins., we had a great time & all the dog's did very well, no real problems with anything. Izzi even enjoyed herself & Pebbles was her usual self "WOOHOO lets do this" I used some of my herding words on some of the gear, the steady & stop cues came in very handy. So next week we'll be going back & giving it another go, see told you it was a little brag .
  6. This is going to make me seem like a real herding tragic, read idiot , but me & a friend are going to drive over to Kate's for a weekend of lessons in the near future, might not sound so bad but have a look at where I live. I really want to go because Kate works with soft eyed upright breeds, I'm having a problem with Izzi & the way she trains will hopefully be able to help, I'll be taking 4 dogs & she bred one of them so it'll be worth the trip.
  7. WOOHOO Zug Zug , knew you would have placed but wasn't sure where, told you I wasn't putting up with any crap from you , HUGE congrats . Well RubyStar it's like this Pebbles has an idiot for a handler , in the sit stay the steward said "leave your dogs" & I rushed the stay cue, poor Pebbles didn't know what I wanted & went down as soon as I stepped away , ah well next time. Then to top it all of I found a lamb on the side of the road on the way home, picked him up & he was very dehydrated, we got some milk into him but unfortunately he didn't make it :D. Oh almost forgot, YAY ZUG ZUG your a bl...y champion ;) bet you'll be still smiling in 2 weeks at the next trial .
  8. So are we all looking forward to Gawler tonight, it's 38 degrees with a howling northerly here at the moment, beeeeautiful . Hope the change comes in soon & the wind drops . See ya there :p .
  9. Pebbles seems ready for next Saturday, I'm hopeing for a pass & title, good luck Zug Zug for us both & anyone else competeing. Can someone tell me what Open A & B classes are, what's the diference between the Open A, B & Open :D , geez I been doin this for a year & still don't know nuthin :D .
  10. Just checked the Dogs SA site & the Terry Ryan seminar is on the same day as the Herding trial, bugga :D.
  11. I prefer my i-click but brought one from Coles to leave in the car just in case I left my good one at home. Most people have good shoes or cloths I have my good clicker & the one to use around the paddock pretty sure this is the only place I can say that & not get funny looks . Have fun SBT303 it's a great way to train .
  12. Sounds like you're progressing very well, even with the problems Zug Zug, I'll be expecting a pass from you at Gawler. I sent my entry today, was going to do the Matt Webb school but I'm having problems with Izzi & thought it'd be better to do Gawler with Pebbles, see you there & keep up the good work .
  13. Didn't think of it that way, at the moment I'm having trouble with Izzi & not sure the working dog school would be a good idea so might see you at the Terry Ryan weekend .
  14. One of the comments was "Let us hope she is far more responsible in finding good, forever homes for the puppies", yeah right stupid bitch will probably keep & breed from the poor little things .
  15. I was thinking of going to it but I want to do the Matt Webb working dog school too, gotta think of the $$$$'s, so not sure which one to do.
  16. On ya deelee keep it up, if you've go a good club it's easy to get addicted & sounds like you've already put a lot of good work in already .
  17. Keep up the work Zug Zug, you'll be flying through the grades , glad you started this thread I'm learning heaps too :p. Took Delta to school Sunday, sooo proud, even with all the distractions she listened, sat, dropped & came when I gave the cues, what a little star, ok I'm bias . Won't be long & she'll be out there in the ring :p.
  18. I've got a little brag, very little compared to most brags but I'm still happy :D, about Delta, we did our first Scholars in Colars class today & even with all the distractions Delta did everything I asked of her . She looked at me when I said her name, sat & dropped, without a lure. I even asked her to stand from a drop & sit, being the first class we're not even up to that yet. Just a little more to brag about, yesterday at home Delta did sit, drop & stand stays, I was 8 paces away & left her for 15 seconds ;), yep I'm a bit proud of her, actualy I'm a lot proud of all of them at the moment :D.
  19. We started the Basics course today & I was sooooo pleased with the way Delta acted in class, even with all the distractions she listened & did everything I asked of her . I'm enroling Pebbles for the CGC course in May.
  20. Are any DOL'ers doing the Scholars in Collars course in Balhannah, it started last Sunday but I didn't go to the introduction, I'm taking Delta for her first day of school tomorrow :D.
  21. Disgraceful, somebody save that poor helpless little dog
  22. Are you coming to Gawler at the end of February, maybe we can get our titles at the same time, if I don't stuff up that is . a bit here, Delta starts Scolars in Collars, Basics, on Sunday so might be able to do CCD with her soon .
  23. Need to have a huge brag here as well, already been to the Aussie Shepherd & Kelpie sites but I'm just bustin with proud . Went herding training yesterday & instead of working in the yard around obstacles we went out in the paddock, none of the dogs have ever done that before so I wasn't sure what would happen, hope youv'e all got some water & a sandwich it's a long post :D. Izzi went out first & didn't do to bad, she gets a bit nervous with new things so took a bit of work to get her going but she went well . Next was Pebbles, thought there'd be sheep in all directions because she's very, ummm, enthusiastic , but, SURPRISED look on face, she cast out collected the sheep & brought them all back to me & worked them as a mob, not 16 sheep, , she worked soooo well I couldn't pat her enough. Then came Delta, 4th time at training, wasn't sure how she'd do being so new & I haven't taught her any cues yet, she took a few minutes to engage but when she did the sheep knew who was boss. Delta gets in & pushes the sheep when necessary then drops back if alls going well, Pebbles is coming along way better than I ever though she would & Izzi's a natural but I've got to be carefull not to get frustraited with her, so now if I don't stuff up the herding season should be a good one. All most forgot there were 16 sheep, we usually only work 3-5, 10 were untrained Texals, spelling?, & 6 were trained, cant stop :p & & my girls, sorry bit over the top but I'm really proud of my girls. Ok done now, till nex time that is .
