  1. I made my own out of a cheap one, $3, I brought, it's only for the CCD so didn't have to last forever or have a dog pulling on it.
  2. I was going to be another drop out, because of the cost of traveling for lessons not lack of enthusiam, but the dogs are enjoying it so much & I just can't seem to quit, so I'll just have to chuck in something else & Victoria here we come .
  3. Who went to the grooming seminar last week, my boss went & loved it, she came back with new ideas about clipping, her dog Dior behaved very well & had a good time too . And the best bit is I didn't destroy her business while she was away .
  4. I'm just about to put my name down for the Aussie Shepherd club's clinic in July, soooo nervous I'll be driving over by myself & got no idea  where I'm going :D, I'll be easy to pick out of the crowd, very white face & hair pulled out . Thought I'd better hurry up & enter, got an email from a friend yelling at me in red letters to hurry up & do it before I chicken out :D, see you there. Deciding whether to use Pebbles the Aussie or Izzi the Coolie, have to take all 4 with me, think I'll use Izzi because she's the one I need the most help with, still nervous but really looking forward to it .
  5. Just got a flyer about the herding clinic in Victoria in July & August, I gotta get my act together & come over to it, pretty sure I'll regret it if I don't. First step is to see all my bosses & square it with them, then decide which dog to use, right, on to it .
  6. I did have a brag on the herding HT thread but I will force myself to do it again . Well here goes, Izzi got High in Trial on 96 points & her HSA title, Pebbles got R/U High in Trial on 91 points & her HSA title & Delta passed both her PT tests got the judges encouragement prize & her PT title, so I'm, still, doing a bit of ;) & even a can't imagine why it wasn't THAT special . I'm so proud of my girls they worked well, Pebbles would have done better in the first test but I missunderstood what the judge said & made a mistake , no biggie she still did what I asked. Now I better go & deflate my ego before it gets to big to control .
  7. Had one lot of people say they'll take Delta & someone else wants Izzi so if I decide to give those two away I'll have plenty of room, but don't hold you're breath think I'm a bit attached to them all.
  8. Congrats JulesP, if it was messy & you still got the pass just think what will happen when everything comes together, you'll be unbeatable . We had a sort of reasonable weekend I guess :D, Izzi got high in trial with 96 points & her HSAS title, Pebbles got R/U high in trial 91 points & her HSAS title & Delta passed her instinct on Sunday, passed both PT's Monday, got the judges encouragement prize & got her PT, soooo ;) it wasn't to bad a weekend , I LOVE MY DOGS & am just busting to brag to the world at the moment .
  9. Go out there smile :D & let your dog do it, or that's what I get told, leave the dog alone & let her work . Good luck .
  10. Have fun, hope your fit it's a hilly course .
  11. The herding trial is getting close now & I'm starting to get nervous , the words looser & fail keep popping into my head , ah well by Tuesday it'll all be over.
  12. Congrats Zug Zug sounds like you both did well Sunday , the stays won't be far off, you'll be out there in no time & getting your title . I thought of coming Sunday, to put Izzi in CD & Delta in CCD, got up at at 6.00 & thought nah couldn't be bothered, well I went to Balhannah Saturday for Scholars in Collars, had to work Monday & had herding & agilty training Tuesday, so we needed a rest , that's my excuse & I'm sticking to it .
  13. Learned to do it after reading "Feeling out numbered ? How to Manage & Enjoy Your Multi-dog Household". Our heel work is a bit messy at the moment because Delta's only new at it all. Don't think our video's can be put on the computer, yeah you read right "video" not DVD , I'll ask the OH. Have fun next weekend.
  14. Look forward to hearing how you go in the mock trial Zug Zug, sounds like you'll be on a mock pass with the way your both working, keep it up :D. Took the dogs to the park yesterday & did a bit of work seperately then decided to do heel work with all 4 at once, heeled off did sit, drop, stand, stay & then a recall, lined them all up & called them in one at a time, then turned them all loose to hoon about that's the fun bit.
  15. I have & put an advert in the local paper "wanted handler with at least half a brain & lot more faith" .
  16. Congrats everyone it's been a good weekend . I have to make a public apology & have a little brag . First, sorry Izzi, I said you wouldn't get close to passing, in, round & out, I was WRONG . Probably the only brag for failing , we did fail but Izzi worked beautifully in the heel work, total attention & trotting along like a Hakney pony , I failed in the figure of 8, she stopped & sniffed then I stupidly stopped thinking it was all over, I should have kept going , did the recall, SFE & COP, would have lost a couple of points in the recall & COP. Are you suppose to be this proud of a fail :D.
  17. Thanks poocow, Pebbles would be in open A, I think, she's 2 1/2 y.o, at least I know more than I did yesterday ;) ;).
  18. OK everyone get ready to & , got a couple of questions about showing, I've never done it before. I'm thinking of entering my neutered Aussie girl in a show in May, she's registered & I'm a member of Dogs SA, are all the neutered dogs shown together or in their respective breeds & the classes are numbered 1,2,3,4 etc. neutered & 1A,2A,3A,4A etc neutered, would I enter both neutered classes or is one for dogs & one for bitches . See told you I have about showing so please be gentle with me with your answers :D, probably be better off staying away :p.
  19. How's the training going Zug Zug, looking forward to reading your brags from the open ring . I've been giving Izzi some work getting ready for the CD Saturday night, still expecting an in, round & out but that's ok because she's going sooooo well at herding . Pebbles won't be seeing the open ring at Dover next month, no use going & wasting the judges time.
  20. Just got the schedule (spelling?) for the April trial, WOOHOO . Think I'll enter Delta for the instinct on ducks & the PT on sheep, it's her first time out but she's working sooooo well. Guess I'll end up with a monster brag or a very red face , hell nothing ventured nothing gained , Izzi needs one pass for her HSAS & Pebbles needs two so I'm hoping to to be doing a for a week I live in hope.
  21. Hmmmmmm might need to do more than just REAL serious training, better get started then & what's the worst that can happen at a mock trial , don't think they can shoot me for stuffing up . Thanks RubyStar
  22. I'd like to give Pebbles a go in open but will need to do some REAL serious training, can someone give me a run down on what I have to do , heel off lead of course but what's after that ? Might even give Delta a try in CCD, she's never been anywhere or done anything so probably wouldn't try the stays.
  23. I had Pebbles entered in the Southern Trial in 2 weeks but now she's got her title I can't put her in CD & she's no where near ready for open, so she's been scratched & I entered Izzi instead , have to Izzi's a herding dog so we'll probably do an in, round n out, but look forward to seeing you all there .
  24. At the moment I'd rather be after getting home at midnight, had a & went to bed at 1am, I'm just not a night person . Bet your all asking what the hell I'm on about . Weeeeell last night I took Pebbles to an obed. trial & she passed aaaaand got 2nd with a score of 193 aaaaand got her CD title, . So I'm just a little happy with my Aussie girl at the moment .
  25. What are "city slicker" training & trials & where are they held, or where can I find out about them, sound like they could be fun.
