Well tomorrows the big day & I'm sooo excited, I know, calm down it's only PT I'm not running for Priminister , but I'm really looking forward to it. With my instructor being away & not geting a last minute lesson I've just got to remember everything I've learned then get out there & enjoy myselfe. Woohoo bring it on the video's charged & the camera has new batteries I'm ready.Of course the worst part is I'll have to get servo on the way because none of my favorite places are open at that time of the morning , ahh but waddaya gunna do . Thanks again for all your tips everyone.

Thanks for that everyone , most helpfull. As for the "keep moving" my instructor always say's, yells, walk, walk, don't stand there like a stunned mullett, LOL. Because I've got 2 dog's that work totally different ways, Aussie & Coolie, I've just got to remember who's behind me & not get , then start trying to rush, gotta say though I'm really looking forward to it .

:D Leave me alone I'm very sensitive & what's wrong with reading bedtime stories to the sheep, doesn't everyone . Piper I'm doing PT, if the sheep jam up in a corner how can I help my dog without touching her, I think that's a big no no, I'll be asking questions on the day but I'm a big planner aheader, not a real word I know but you get the idea.
-
I'm shocked that you'd think I'd bribe the sheep, I'm just making sure they're well fed & happy . You'll pass no worries . Thanks Jules, if I can stop my brain from feezing my feet will keep moving. Since I've sorted my problem with Pebbles I'm feeling more confident about it all & having the sheep here I can do a bit more work during the week.

We went to the mock trial at Enfield yesterday too, CCD, & I was so pleased with my two, Pebbles did a beautiful stand for exam. Because both were in the same ring I had to get someone else to take Izzi in the sit & drop stays, no one else has ever handled Izzi before, & she never moved in either, I love my girls . Pretty sure my scores were VERY generous but I'm still happy with the way Pebbles & Izzi worked, & I'll find out how generous next weekend at Gawler .

Well this time next week we'll be going for our PT & with the way Izzi & Pebbles are working they should get it, as long as I don't stuff up of course . We had a lesson yesterday & brought the sheep home today, ready to take them to the trial, I'm all excited . I'm going to a mock obedience trial tomorrow & a real one next Sunday, what was I thinking entering an obedience trial the day after a herding trial, only live once I guess .

Me too, "For the love of a dog", would loved to have brought a few books but that get's a bit expensive. Talking about body language helped me, I'll start watching my "problem child" a bit more closely now. Enjoy your book, I'm sure I'll be glued to mine .

Did anyone go to the Petagog seminar in Adelaide on Saturday ? I went, really enjoyed it & learned lots, Dr Debbie Calnon was very interesting to listen to & one of the subjects she spoke about I was sure she was talking to me, wadaya know I'm not crazy after all .

Well during the judges talk at the beginning of the day she said that it wasn't a training day but a trial! So I got scared and figured I had better think of it like a trial. One smart judge . Just had to add this, WOOHOO I've just booked my spot for the 18th & 19th working dog school, now I'll spend the next month doing the , excited, , nervous, thing, might need some tranquilisers to calm down .
-
We're going Thursday, did you enjoy Saturday, I did & I was only watching.
-
So what happened to you viewing the trial as a training day , PT & most promising dog , WOOHOO congratulations knew you could do it . Know what you mean about going nuts on the herding, I'm doing two working dog schools in July, one in Melrose on the 18th & 19th the other in Millicent on the 25th & 26th. Now all I have to do is stop sweating about doing our PT , & it's three weeks away still .
-
All trials are training days, go out there to pass & the dog will pick up on your confidence. I'm not having a shot at you, I wrecked what could have been a nice obedience work out just because I'd had some bad news the day before & just didn't want to be there. Pebbles always gives it her best but that time she just wouldn't work, so get out there & pass no excuses & I want to hear all the good news on Monday .
-
It's June, when's the trial, it's weeks before ours & I can't wait. Just heard from Pages Working Dogs, WOOHOO, they're having another school & hopefully I'll get to go . Must be good, people from QLD have booked places, that's a long way for a dog school .
-
Thanks xena, saw it in there & thought I might go, I'll be checking to see what trilas are coming up as well. Are you going to Gepps Cross, might see you there?
-
Good luck, but you'll be fine , I'll be s**ting myself in July but you'll be fine .
-
If I don't pass on the 4th my instructor will hit me with something big & heavy , so I'm trying to start Izzi & Pebbles titles, good luck with the agility title.

Have to have tell everyone about our training session yesterday, can you see my smile , took Izzi out first & did a PT work out, the instructor said after, it was good enough to get high score at a trial , I know that would depend on how well other dog's worked etc. but it made me feel pretty damn good. Izzi has proved she doesn't need me out there, she does the job & I'm just an accessory . Pebbles is coming along very well too she's gathering the sheep now, not just chasing, she's a typical Aussie & I have to learn how to work her, so proud of both my girls. We're getting ready for the july 4th trial, it's only my second one & I'm madly trying to learn what I'll have to do :D , getting ready for us includes converting the stallion yard into a sheep yard, organising a roll of hay & feed troughs & booking the trailer, the sheep are coming to our place the week before & we're taking them to the trial then back then back to their home after. Think I'm hooked on this herding stuff, I'm even enjoying converting yards & transporting sheep, should I be seeing a profesional about this .

Was going to enter Noarlunga but that's the same day as Petagog so I'll have to check what the next one is. Dova was my first trail & I should have stayed home, nothing to do with the dogs or trial, I want to do another one just to get some confidence back .
-
Yep I went, just looooved the rain, when we got back to the Bridge it was dry so went to dog school as well.
-
We need to get together, at least we'll be leaving the rest of the population alone , you should do the Millicent training weekend I've heard it's very good, depending on where you live of course.
-
Brad Pellow does the Koolie Club workshops & as far as I know, I've never been, he's very good. I think he's doing a workshop this weekend at Binalong with the Koolie Club.
-
Check the Delta Society site all their trainers are listed, I had trouble with Izzi & used one of their trainers & am very happy with the results.

It's taken a while to answer this, I've been tossing onions to earn some bucks to pay for the working dog school in July, now where was I , oh yeah, I had two judges at the HIC trial, both were very good. The one who judged Izzi bred Pebbles, she stayed after the trial & gave a few lessons as well, she was great, sounds like you had a good time. This herding stuff sure gets you in doesn't it, all I think about is when the next training session is & can't wait for the working dog school in July, I gotta get a life .
-
Woohoo just got an email from the Kippakoop people & they're having a school in Millicent, SA, in july, Ive never done a school before so I'll have to hide the nerve's & just do it . It'll be worth it just to see how Izzi would do, think she's going to be herder & Pebbles will be better at obedience.

We got home at 7.30pm & the best I could do was feed the dogs, have a shower & pass out, now all I can think about is the next trial day & I'm going for a training session Friday. After standing in the freezing rain all Friday afternoon, getting up at 4am & home again at 7.30pm Saturday, up at 7am to wash the trailer out & take it back Sunday & I still want to do it again, should I be seeing a shrink or some thing :p . Glad to help because it all benefits me, see I'm not an I'm very selfish really .
