Love the piccies Jess. Jane would be in there too. She wouldn't care if there was an iceberg in the water and yet shes the one thats under the doona at night so she must feel the cold! So far the only time Gus has got wet is accidently when he fell into a rock pool following Jane. He's abit precious! Tenties, glad the boys are settling in. I should get my Roger some more girls ( I know the present two would love that as they are abit sick of being jumped on!) but the chook run is so soggy at the moment I couldn't cope with introducing new ones. Oh for a week of fine sunny days...at the moment it feels like we are never going to dry out!

Jane could give them a few lessons...she can open our fridge. We have a lock on it now but you have to 'click' it to lock it and very occasionally we forget. Jane gives that fridge a nudge 3 or more times a day and has got to the big reward a few times! What gets me is that she closes the door afterwards!!!

Gotta work all week but could maybe manage Sunday or maybe Saturday. I work in Colac on Saturday Til 12. Any chance of your friend meeting me in Colac on Saturday?
-
Hi Meagan. What time frame are you talking about in regards to Dexter going to Melbourne???
-
Gippsland...no but I could manage South eastern suburbs Melbourne but only on the weekends. When does this dog have to get to Gippsland??? Probably need more info before committing though.

Jane LOVES books! I now have a book shelf at home with only the top shelf used for books and the rest are empty. Not only does she love the books but also the chellenge of getting them! I dream of buying book selves with doors!

Ha HA Ha...Gert is just paying you back for putting that bucket on her head!

Hi everyone We will be at training on Sunday...along with half the dog population in the great south west if last weekend is any indication! A walk after would be great...and happy to go where ever! Jane has been disgraceful this week...phone, fridge...again! and the couch (although I think young Gus had a hand in that!!) so seems she is over being cooped up with this weather as well! Thank God I love her to bits otherwise she would be an ex-dog
-
Not the iphone Tlc...Allie's phone... that she left on the couch! Jane loves techno stuff as much as you do :D Its not looking good for an ipod for her birthday if she can't remember to put her stuff away and out of reach of the Black Menace! Thats the difference between Gus and Jane...Gus wouldn't even look at it let alone give it a great chewing! Tenties... :p ;) Welcome back to the world of independant transport!

Hi Pomchi! Did you decde to try the Dap?

;) Hey Mawson...say hello to the whales up there for us! Glad someones enjoying the good weather. Even the farmers are saying we have had enough rain now! Poor Migs! Hope her tail heals soon. She sure is a problem child but I might swap her for Jane who chewed mobile phone number 4 last night. She wasn't very expensive to buy but by God she has made up for it now! for Moby. Any chance of asking the Boxer thread if someone might love her? Good luck tomorrow Tenties...its been awhile...just remember to sit in the seat with the steering wheely thingo in front of it

Fantastic photos...love seeing dogs enjoying the water! Katie looks like she was having a ball and the location looks pretty special! Janes a water baby as well. She would throw herself in water no matter what the temp but funnily enough she also feels the cold so she is an 'under the doona' girl during these cold nights.

Wow!Little Mystic is a full on cutie! I know what you mean about the time flying! Young Gus is now six and a half months. Seems like yesterday we adopted him at 3 and a half months and yet at the same time it feels like he has been with us forever! It was great to have such a lovely sunny day...at last! Training was actually enjoyable as I had forgotten what it was like to NOT be freezing. Both dogs enjoyed the session as well and Tlc did a fantastic job keeping us all motivated and focused. Such a large group too. All up I think there were about 15 doggies there today! Jane and Gus, Allie and I also had a lovely beach walk afterwards at Thunder point with Barb and Cooper and Bronson. Gus finally had a dip in the ocean but it was accidental as he kind of fell into a deep rock pool. Didn't seem to faze him though. Nice quiet and relaxed doggies tonight! Yah Tenties on the imminent arrival of your car....its been a long time coming!

I'm in for tomorrow too if the weather improves. Atm we have aternating full on rain and wind then bright sunshine! My two are asleep on the lounge saving energy for thier usual play-time tonight! Hope everyone is snug and warm!

We have and use a Dap Diffuser but it is not for separation anxiety. Since day 1 with Jane, she has not had an 'off' switch and her behaviour at night was quite manic...never stopped wanting to play, run, play ect. Anyway we got a Dap and the first day we had it was the first time we saw Jane fall asleep in the lounge room! We thought it was a bloody miracle! Even now, many months later, we still use it. We have found that she still needs it to settle. On the odd occasion where her behaviour has regressed we have also realised the dap is empty. I would imagine that she will eventually not need it but at the moment I call it my 'sanity saver'!

If being stubborn is going for a walk with Jane and then she sees someone say...50 metres away and she falls to the ground and lies on her side and refuses to budge until that person has walked up to us.... then Jane is stubborn!
-
We have one of each also. Super confident extrovert Jane and young Gus who is a very passive 6 and a half month old. He's so relaxed that he leans into you then falls over when patted and the only thing he distroys is paper!! He even runs out of steam when he licks you and forgets what hes doing so you end up with a stationary tongue attached to your hand!

Janes a FANTASTIC name I love Lulu or what about Talullah...Tully for short.

Hi Tlc...Had a look at your bird...looks like a native pigeon to me. Mum and dad have alot around their place in Melbourne. Some people call them Squeeky Pigeons because when they take off flying their wings squeek! If it is a native, then I think vets are compelled to look after them but I could be wrong. If not then maybe an animal shelter. Good luck with him..he's very pretty! Sounds like Bronson is growing up! Might be time to think about a new 'baby' Poor you Tenties...the car and now trees and water! Apparently Mt Emu Creek is now a river!

Hey Tlc...Glad you guys had a goodish trip to Gippsland. I was abit worried about you driving through all this weather. Sorry to say that we didn't go today. Just didn't seem worth the drive with all the water around and more today. The training oval would have been underwater I think! 'Fun day' would have turned into 'flood day'. I did get two walks in with the dogs...got nicely wet both times but it beats feeling guilty about not walking them. Jane can really turn on the sad eyes when she wants to plus she has perfected the art of sighing loudly! How is Bronson's ?hotspot?

Growing up in a time when kids and dogs had much more freedom, One of the dogs that used to just be with us kids was a beautiful Irish Setter. I have no idea who he belonged to...he just joined in the fun when us kids were out and about but his(or her) name was always Big Redda to us. Still my dream dog but not even close to owning one at the moment with two mutts!

OMG That is hilarious!!! I nearly bumped the computer off my tummy from laughing so much! Bet the story still gets told in the vets staff room when new staff come on board
-
Yep...Jane is a 'how did you do that' dog! How does she get into the fridge via the vegi drawer even though the vegi drawer had a child proof lock on it and then proceed to eat the contents of the fridge through the small gap between the vegi drawer and the fridge!!! So much food in fact that I had to go to the vets after hours for an injection to make her vomit! And how does she know that by pulling the tee-towel which is under the plate of food, the plate will come closer to her so she can jump up and get it! Not at all interested in the tee-towel on its own though! And how the hell did she get her head stuck in the doona cover after sleeping under it all night! Just her big fat head so she is sitting on the bed wagging her tail with a queen size woollen doona attached from the neck up!

Being on the side of a hill definitely has its advantages Jess! Our back door is actually 2 steps below our backyard!!! Whoever thought THAT was a good idea had rocks in their heads! After sloshing around in the backyard yesterday, I looked at the big storm water drain that runs under our nature strip( There is a large metal grate every 20 or 30 metres) and realised it was dry! Needless to say, I made a call to the shire and nicely suggested they clean the thing out!

My shelter dog, Gus, probably belongs in the 'niciest dog, ugly face' catagory although I personally love his over sized ears, long long nose and brindle head and legs! His personality won me over as soon as we met and he leant against me and looked up at me! I was a total goner in a second and I continue to melt when he does this every day! He is a soft gentle pup and apart from being a bit of a barker (even this is much better now) I think he is perfect in every way! Sweet man that he is, he has the most gentle mouth and is such a sooky la-la. I can't believe how lucky we are to have him!
