  3. Hi All, I never posted this on here to have any negative thoughts made towards Jennifer on how she deals with rehoming her dogs (forgive me if my interpretations of negativity is way off the mark) The main reason I started this post was to see if the many people on these forums had heard or know of anything as I feel this is just not right. I'm not sure what her intentions are with trying to find him as I don't personally know her, but if I was placed in this situation I would want the new owners to know they were SCAMMED out of there money & given false info', as I strongly believe this was the case. I appreciate everyones replies & I know we all have strong opinions on the way we each would've handled things with the rehoming of the dog or any dog. But I really feel for her as she thought she had found genuine people who would give her boy a good home & not on sell him just to make a quick buck. I personally would not appreciate any person doing this to me & strongly believe this is a dog act (no pun intended)
  4. I don't know what they're going to do if this dog is found. Someone got the dog for free and then on-sold it - all legal? Although this maybe all legal, Her belief is she got scammed & the people who purchased him have been scammed also. How can someone who receives a dog FTGH (if thats how her ad' or what ever her means of rehoming him was) then go & sell him for $2200 & claim he is 22mths when he is nearly 6yrs old. To me thats just a scum act & people like this need to be stopped.
  5. There is a pic of the dog in the Mature Dogs (British Bulldog) for sale section on dogzonline. He is under Karazma.
  6. It's not my dog, I have posted this as I was one of many bulldog people who received this email from Jennifer. I don't know her personally but as alot of people frequent these forums I thought I would post here to try help a fellow bulldog person out.

  11. I use freezer bags only coz it's cheaper. I package ours in 1kg lots then when it comes time to defrosting I pull a couple of packs out put them in one of our old esky's which is now officially the dogs usually takes a day to defrost. Whateva they don't eat goes in there fridge, for there next meal.
  12. Thank you, were not counting our chickens just yet but we are seeing a definate change in her & are noticing her boobies are getting bigger. Her stomach is getting rounder but maybe that could have to do with the change in diet (slight increase in food) We'll know for sure in 2 or 3wks when we can get the ultrasound done.
  13. Hi turf, you might want to go to a good Vet who has had alot of experience with the bulldog breed & have your boy checked for elongated soft palette. You will find this is a very common occurance in the Bulldog breed & that he may vomit a number of times before he can digest his food. This may not be the case but I would be getting it checked to definately eliminate. I wouldn't be giving him any type of (body builder) supplements but maybe place him on a diet a bit higher in fat or put him on adult dog food. You don't want to give a bulldog to much protein at a young age as it can cause problems with the development of there bones, hips & knees. Make sure you find a vet that is highly experienced with the bulldog breed. Good Luck.
  14. Sorry Cordy have to correct you here. Having Neos with their big droopy squishy faces pretty much all of my guys have had a cherry eye or two, I have a wonderful vet who agrees with me not to muck around with them and take them out and be done with it. He does it during a normal consultation under a light sedative and local anesthetic, takes two seconds and less than $150 all inclusive and never ever have I had a dog worry about the whole proceedure. Admittedly if he is on holidays or something I can not find another vet that will take them out at all, even his partner wont do it and its kept quiet around the clinic. Yep the vet we went to only used a local anesthetic, was shocked at how quick it was. Thought they would have to knock him out & then have him in recovery but nah 20mins all done. Very Happy
  15. Just an update, went in today to have Hugo's cherry eye removed. Was in & out within 20mins. The vet explained to me again, the procedure & the possibility of dry eye & how we can moniter that. He bled, when he was first bought out to me & that was all. Have just put his last lot of med's in for the night & I swear you wouldn't even know he had it removed. Both myself & hubby were very surprised. He really looks like a different dog, he got home & couldn't stop running around probably thinking "shit I can see properly again" ;) Thanks to all for your opinions/advice.
  16. 2 of our bully's have done the same thing at different times as younger pups. Our bitch injured her leg as she slipped on the tiles, she had slight tissue damage got cartroven (spellchek) shots & needed to be crated for 6wks only being allowed out wen she needed to go toilet & had to be kept on lead at that time. As she grew & her bones became stonger she made a full recovery, we also had to pull weight off her too as she was a bit on the chunky side ;). Our boy had tissue damage from playing a little to rough with our older dogs, had exactly the same symptoms as our bitch. It was alot harder for us to crate him as he just played up the whole time coz he wanted to be with our other dogs. He's coming along fine now. The best thing you can do is keep him crated to the point where he has no room to move, if he has too much free reign in his crate it only makes it worse (believe me it's happened twice for us). If he seems a bit on the chunky side try pull weight off him as that only aids the injury & won't help recovery. Hopefully the vets/specialist can give you a more definitive answer & it don't end up costing alot of $$$$$ in the process, coz it can ;) :D .
  17. I've got bulldogs too, we are taking my bro' inlaws dog (we've not long become carers) to get his cherry eye removed tomorrow. I guess having entropion operated on would be similar to getting the cherry eye done . The vet we are using is Rosalie @ Gladesville Vets & she was highly recommended by alot of bulldog people. If your in Sydney might pay to give her a call. But definately get something done sooner rather then later, it definately is not a very nice thing for them to go through. Good luck Moko.
  18. Mine were going off too, only coz they could hear the local hoodlums screaming profanities in there drunken states, out the front.
  19. I know that family, can't comment on the dogs though as I haven't seen them before. Very interested to see what the golden retriever/bosten terrier looks like & how they distingushed that to be a APBT.
  20. I guess that's why where leaning towards the cutting out. We can't risk him going under too many times if the tucking in doesn't work first time. I've seen a few tucked in jobs & they have popped back out with in a mth or so & for the money some of these people have paid in my opinion I would be expecting that to be the end of it. Thank you for clearing up the whole anaesthesia bit, I was pretty sure that was the case but thought I heard somewhere that they were only under a light sedation .
  21. Hi All Just wondering what peoples thoughts are of Cutting out the Cherry Eye or having it tucked/sewed back in? I know a few people who have had cherry eyes tucked back in & within wks/mths it's popped out again. I purchased a dog last year whom I found out after the fact had had a cherry eye completely cut out, breeder preferred to do it this way. As he was young he didn't have an issue with dry eye (not to say he may not have it in the future) Who knows the process of removing it do they need to be put under (never questioned the breeder on this)? & if it's only being tucked in & if it pops out again & surgery or process of tucking it back in needs to happen which means the dog needs to be put under again (if thats the case) how beneficial could that be to the dog being put under 1, 2 or 3 seperate times. Really interested to know as we have just become carers to my bro inlaws dog who has a cherry eye which has been out for some time. Have called a couple of vets most won't cut out but will only tuck in & quotes we were given were a few hundred $$$+ but largely depends on the severity of it. Any information would be very much appreciated. :p
  22. We are now feeding Bonnie working dog here. I have started feeding raw in the morning & dry at night with yoghurt & sardines. Have tried about 4 premium kibbles & 4 cheaper kibbles, our dogs thrived on Proplan performance unfortunately our wallets didn't
  23. A few mths back we tried Coprice Family Dog & UA. The condition of our dogs coats on Coprice was not good & the stool of our dogs on UA came out very runny. I did change them ever so slightly but they couldn't stomach the UA, hubby was put off by the appearance of the UA/GB didn't bother me, but did notice that they tend to crumble alot more then other biscuits & there seemed to be alot of excess in the bottom of the dry food bucket. Since the Coprice, UA/GB we've now got our dogs on Bonnie Working Dog. They absolutely love it & are now looking very nice & chunky. We don't feed them solely dry they have semi lean mince also. I was mixing it together but have read that's a no no. So now they have raw in the morning & dry at night, also with yoghurt & sardines. googled UA to double chek which 1 we used,
