Wanted: Foster Carer Or Rescue For Huskies X 3

Bumping again. -
http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/break...hrown-from-car/ The RSPCA is hunting for the owners of a starving dog that was thrown from a car on Brisbane's northside. It's believed the brindle Staffordshire Terrier-Boxer cross recently had pups. The dog was so thin its ribs, hips and spine were protruding. "A witness saw the dog being thrown out of an early 80s model, white Commodore, Magna or Falcon early in the morning on February 25th," the RSPCA said. The dog was abandoned on the corner of Thompson and Alma roads at Dakabin. There is concern, too, for the dog's puppies. The RSPCA has called for anyone with information to contact the RSPCA Animal Cruelty Hotline on 1300 852 188. Very, very sad. That poor dog. The culprit, if caught - will most likely get a fine. Its rediculous. When will laws change to protect these animals? I wonder what happened to her babies? If the condition she is in, is any indication - I dont like their chances... Thats just sickening......

Wanted: Foster Carer Or Rescue For Huskies X 3

They should have until next pts now, which is Wednesday. So it gives a couple more days to find them something. I wont give up just yet. :D Going out there yesterday and spending time with them, has just made me MORE determined to help them. When I sent that message last night to Illy asking for todays pts numbers - I awaited nervously, the reply. This is what she sent back. They are not on the list but need rescue or potential buyers urgently, they are so lovely. She then informed there was NO pts today. It doesnt give alot of time, but sometimes, all it takes is an extra day or two to make all the difference. -

Sadly, no one can help. I agree they seem to of had a pretty sad life. If I got my hands on the so and so's that did this to them I feel sad for the next dog(s) they get. Thats so sad for them. I wish i could help, but all i can do is offer donation towards their rescue. They sure do deserve a chance at a better life. Everything crossed for them. But PM me if a donation will help them out. Thank you Lisa ann. Very kind of you, as always. -

Bumping these babies. Not long to go now. There has been no interest in them so far. The contacts I have tried were unable to help. Everyone is so full atm. I know the feeling well. I have requested the pts list for tommorow and I am dreading the reply. I literally have butterflies. -

I went to the pound this morning, pockets full of shmako's and milk arrowroot biscuits. I asked for them to be taken to the run, so I could spend some time with them. The male, called Bailey was the first to be bought out. He was gorgeous. Stunning looking boy, had a lovely nature. He had a good run around and sniff and came for pats. He preffered the milk arrowroot biscuit than the shmako's. ;) ;) A very nice boy. The girls were then put in the run, next to Bailey. Theyre names are Alaska and Jasmine. Jasmine is a bit of a fatty, gee she reminds me of my ol' girl, Gypsy. At first Alaska appeared very tense and unsure, she had her tail between her legs. I sat on the grass and called to her gently. In no time, she warmed up and stuck to me like glue. Even thought she was a lap dog. Gorgeous girls, both of them. They all got lots of cuddles, kisses & treats. All were gentle when taking them from my hand. I talked with them and spent some quality time with them all. I felt them all over, no probs, they were happy to be handled, from their paws, tail to teeth, no issues. No lumps or bumps or any other nasties felt. Their teeth are in quiet good cond. too. The 2 girls have had a fair few litters in their time. They also have badly matted coats, are putrid, and have fleas. Now to the ears. They have been cut when they were younger, as were their teeth (points of fangs filed down, so no point), much like people do with fighting dogs. I dont know why they did this to huskies???? Very sad. They have also suffered fly bite, which is what gives the ears an uneven appearance. Alaska (the white girl) craves human touch and affection. The blk & white girl, Jasmine looks to be possibly desexed???? She just has that plump look to her and illy says she thinks the girls (or one of) is desexed??? I checked for ear tattoo's, none. Could be just plump due to the middle age spread. Overall, they were very sweet, loving and deserving dogs. The two girls were surrendered first, and then the male. ( I say he was fretting for them) Thats why the difference in impound numbers, I thought as much. It should also be noted these ppl contacted husky rescue and gave the excuse the dogs were fighting. (showed absolutely no signs of aggro today) and when they were surrended to the pound, told the pound they were moving and couldnt keep them anymore. They are full of it. Get your story straight people!!!! Poor dogs. Truths be known, they served their purpose (breeding) and then decided it was time to dispose of them?? They have not been cared for well at all. At the end of the visit, the loud speaker announced the pound was closed and asked for everyone to make their way out. (Sorry, I am now) it was torture having to leave them behind. :D I gave them a big cuddle and kiss goodbye and told them I would still do my best to save them. I broke down as we (the dogs and I) had a group hug. They looked at me and cried, concerned that I was crying I didnt think anyone was about, but illy showed up and asked if I was ok. (She is always nice) And I know this may seem/sound really strange. But the last few days weve had 3 black crows hanging about, making that noise they do. Jack is scared of them and calls them scare crows. (He isnt scared of any animal except them) Anyways, today at the pound, Alaska looks to the sky all weird. I am thinking, what is she looking at. When I looked up, it was a flock of black crows circling us, silently. :D -

Have sent PM. Thank you -
I am hoping someone here can help. I have tried all other options w/o success. There are 3 huskies at Blacktown pound. Impounds 1205, 1206 and 1261. They were surrended over a week ago. REASON: They were the wifes dogs and she became ill. So the husband took over caring for them and all he would do is throw the food from the back door, they were basically left to fend for themselves. I was told they were about 8 yrs old, I think the third (a white male) is possibly younger. There is a blk & white female, white female and white male. The 2 girls have had fly bite at some stage, leaving them with half their ears. Very sad. Is anyone in a postition to be able to help any of these 3? PLEASE????? Even if I can find a foster carer, I would be happy to arrange release and vet work. If you can help please PM me, or call 0414 802 633. It is very urgent, they are on tommorows pts list for first thng in the morning. They are gorgeous dogs. (Pics to come in a min) happy and friendly. Seem quiet and calm also. The 2 girls And the male Thank you Fingers crossed someone can help..... I have been losing sleep over these 3. Edited to add: If you want to take them under your own rescue, that is fine also. PLEASE PM me so I know and can advise pound.

My Dog Ate Something Totally Grose
k9angel replied to mrs tornsocks's topic in General Dog Discussion
My dogs have escaped with a nappy or few over the past 3 years... No ill effects, though I wouldnt recommend adding them to the diet. Dogs are funny critters arent they? mine do the same. Wait until I am not looking then the chase is on, as they run with it in their mouth. The worst is when they decide to give it a good shaking and the nappy explodes. I mean literally - everywhere. (These are wee ones I am talking about - not number 2's - Thank Goodness ) -
I believe Responsible Pet Ownership should be a part of our childrens schooling. I mean they teach algebra, art and the like. Why not start teaching kids from a young age, how to handle or not handle a dog? or any other pet? Some kids, after all, dont have the priveledge of pets in their lives, or rarely have ctc with them, others (like my kids) live with animals everyday of their lives. I think all kids would benefit with some guidance and education, if not by their parents - at least at school. (sorry a little OT there) As for the dogs in question I too believe they should be pts. I have seen the damage dogs can do, both chasing and attacking sheep. Not nice at all. When I lived in Manildra (population about 500 then) I had my 4 huskies. Some sheep were being attacked and ofcoarse being newcomers to town and having what they seen as wolves assumed it was my dogs. I knew it wasnt. My dogs never left the yard, now or then. PLUS they slept inside at night. Then early one morning I hear the distressing cries of the sheep in the paddock across from us. They were basically being eaten alive by these 3 pigging dogs.... I had never seen anything like it in my life and was horrified. The local policeman came, aswell as the ranger and shot the poor suffering sheep. I remember holding my hands over my ears to block the sound of the gunshot. (Coming from Syd this was all knew to me ) the policeman had a word to the owners, some local boys and they (the boys) took the dogs out bush to shoot them. Then a few wks back, OH was out walking Chloe and was chased down by 4 dogs, amstaff, staffy and pups (parents and 2 pups) (neighbours dogs)I had a thread on it actually. At first I laughed at him, thinking he was just imagining things. But there were 4 of them. Live almost directly across the road and we'd never seen them. Those dogs went on to kill some poor persons dog that night. As far as I know they actually got into a yard to rip the dog apart. :D This happened a few blocks from us but neighbours say they heard the death curdling screams of both dogs and people, so it must of been a horrific attack. Two of those dogs ended up at Blacktown pound. One went missing the night they escaped and the other poor pup, is left there alone, to basically rot in the back yard. ;) The scary thing is, I think he got them back!!!!! They were at the pound for weeks and weeks, went from site, then the other night we hear an odd bark. It sounded like the male amstaff. I never went back to ask... I dont think there is any place in our society for dogs like that, OR the people that own them. I feel sorry for this lady and her pony....

Wishing you & your girl all the best. Fingers crossed for her.

That poor dog, how sad. I agree the person who did it should cop the same as punishment. Imagine the pain he would of endured....

The children attacked were my brothers children. The dog was an American staffy. He attacked the resident cat, the kids got in the way, trying to save the cat & the dog turned on them. The dog belonged to the childrens Uncle, and was being cared for, by them. I have never seen the dog, nor has my brother, but according to the owners sister, who I spoke to a short time ago, he IS an amstaff. The girls suffered puncture wounds to the arms, as did their Grandmother. (the Grandmother also had a nail peirced *ouch*) They were released from hospital a short time later. I was told he is a large dog, and was usually good natured. He'd seen the cat through the door before and no problems. When Jess went to feed him, she accidently left the door ajar a little, and so when the dog saw the cat inside, went to attack it. The kids went to the cats defence, and in turn were bitten too The cat survived the attack.

5437 From Blacktown Pound - See Pics Of Her Safe

Yes they are the perfect pair! Its always "Jasmine this, Jasmine that - Can Jasmine come too?" And she is always close behind him. I believe all kids should have their own, special dog. And Jack couldnt of found a more deserving and special friend than Jasmine. She is so loyal to him. -

The human version of glucosamine/chondroitin works wonders and is so much less expensive. Available from your local vitamin shop. Is he overweight at all? -
5437 From Blacktown Pound - See Pics Of Her Safe

Update: It has been about 7 months since Jasmines arrival. Jasmine is doing great! You would never believe it was the same girl!!! Her and Jack are still as close as ever. Jasmine plays now, can you believe it? she sometimes picks up one of Jacks toys and carries it about. It has been a long road for Jasmine to get this far and she even plays with other dogs now, instead of being afraid. She is a happy girl, she looooves her walks. Boy, does she get excited when the lead comes out. She is still calm and shy at times, but overall she is well adjusted girl. Oh and she still doesnt bark much. Probably 5 or 6 times in the 7 mths she has been here. Not that I am complaining . She doesnt cower or flinch much now and she doesnt startle at some of the LOUD noises Jack can make. Her ears are held a little higher now, especially when were out walking! They are almost straight up. Jasmine is such a beautiful girl. We are so Lucky to of found her. I will attach some pics taken over the past few mths with her little mate, Jack. She loves to do the froggy - I should say pancake :D as she lays flat out when she does, and sometimes, she'll sit with her front feet crossed as pictured above... A bit of a character our Jasmine. This was taken the other day - Hmmmm - I can see you hiding Jasmine. Her and Jack were at the bedroom window, behind the curtain.... ;) Jacks in there somewhere. I have to add, Jack is sitting here with me now looking at pics and says of this one.. "Mummy Jasmine in cubby house". Hmmm - so thats what it was all about. With Jack & Bailey With her heart friend - Jack.... -
Very sad story. These kids lost their parents in that drowning incident recently, then almost lost their beloved pet dog in an attack.... http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/sher...9-1225826887338

Just noting this - baby snakes are still just as dangerous as adults!!! - due to the fact (so I'm told) that babies don't know how to regulate the amount of venom they inject - so they inject all of it - whereas adults generally keep some for "back up"..... Anyways - whether this is true or not - babies still produce the same type of venom - so are still very dangerous!!! Yes this is true....
