  1. Thank you Leanne. I spoke with Irene today, a very nice lady. She said if worse comes to worse and there are absolutely no other options she would be willing to foster him, so long as he got on ok with their resident dogs. :D I am also happy to hear a Husky Rescue does exist in Qld. :D I will call that mobile number tommorow and ask a few questions, to see whether it is them, actually taking him. Things are looking up for him.
  2. Hi Winterpaws, I am not sure. I hadnt heard of one either, but when I picked the girls up yesterday, I was advised by Pound staff that Husky Rescue Qld, was interested and trying to get a quote for transport. I asked pound staff for them to ctc me as I was happy to help with release to a reputable rescue, thinking they could then put that money towards transport. I was then advised it wasnt required, as he'd be coming out through Husky rescue and they didnt have to account for release fees. ??? Its got me buggered. Still waiting on reply from Illy. Just trying to call. No answer on mobile, probably busy as they close in 5 mins. I am curious myself now. I'd be really interested to know Be careful with Qld rehomings - the welfare agencies up there were having issues with dog fighters trying to get dogs Now I am really worried sick. Come to think of it, someone else has mentioned that in another post - they use them for practise for their fighting dogs. That would be a terrible thing for any dog to have to go through. :D

  4. That would be a great idea. I have sent Illy a message asking if there was any word on Husky Rescue Qld, organising transport. Waiting on reply. And youre right Teekay. He does remind me of Mya too. He just has that soft look to his eyes. I havent given up hope and still hoping for a miracle. If I knew 100% they'd all get along and I had a dog walker to help, I would take him myself. The girls are doing well. I have never seen a husky hoff down food before, until them. I do believe the surrender story that the food was just thrown to them and they had to fend for themselves. I have seen it with my own eyes. Poor buggers. They were eating like there was no tommorow. Explains why Jasmine and Alaska are fatter than Bailey, poor boy prob went without a lot. Gee how hard is it to seperate dogs at feeding time??. I am sure if I can manage 14 dogs, 2 human babies, 5 birds and 4 guinea pigs, they could of managed 3 dogs. ;) Last night, the girls ate a chicken carcass each, 3 wings each and a good slice of VIP roll each! *eek* They were starving.... No wonder there was so much poop to clean this morning... Had to of been 2kgs worth. I am used of Mya's petite little poo's, not telegraph poles. Remind me to never give them tin food. Then I will be in trouble :D As soon as I hear of any news on Bailey I will be sure to post. I wish he could be here too. I have my fingers crossed and like I say, not giving up hope just yet.
  5. Nothing as yet. :D Very quiet. I will call Illy this afternoon and ask whether Husky Rescue Qld have got back to them yet re: transport.
  6. Very true Dogmad. Least they get a chance at a home now. I havent given up on Bailey either. I will keep at it. I sent the new pics to Husky Rescue. Whats that saying? persistance pays off, we can always hope. Least we have a few more days now.
  7. Turns out Bailey & Alaska are actually brother and sister. I feel terrible. I seperated them. Jasmine is possibly their Mother, she was about a year and a half when they were born. I know how close they would of been. I have older huskies Mum and daughter (11 and 9) myself and would hate to imagine them being seperated, especially after nearly 10 years. No wonder he looked sooo sad. They have been together since being in their Mummys belly. Sorry to get all sentimental here, but I take these things into account. They would of played together throughout their puppyhood, grown together... I am feeling pretty guilty atm.
  8. I will PM both girls through now and the Baileys DOB once Illy gets back to me with it.
  9. Hi Lisa Ann Their ears have been trimmed when they were younger. Very sad I know. They have also endured many years of painful flybite judging by scars. If you look closely at Jasmines pic, you will also see a nasty scar beneath her eye too. She was very lucky not to lose it, judging by the scar. Baileys ears are not damaged like the girls are. Oh and yes, they are happy. Alaska has claimed her own kennel is happy as. They were both out and about playing in the rain earlier, should of seen there faces mud galore. God love them, to think a few hrs ago they were stuck in a kennel now they have the comforts of a home. I have guinea pigs in a cage on the other side of the fence (not in with them) and they are not the least bit bothered by them.
  10. And the girls, shortly after their arrival. Jasmine is the blk & wht one. She has 2 split eyes. The left eye top is blue, bottom brown, the right eye is brown top and blue bottom. I havent seen one like that before. Very pretty. She was born in 2001. She is quiet overweight like my older girl. Alaska is the white girl, or Snuggle Bum as I call her She is just a big baby really. She was born in 02 and has the prettiest blue eyes. Jasmine explores in the background As you can see they are much thicker/heavier set than the petite Mya, I just rehomed to Teekay Makes them all the more cuddly They'd just given eachother a kiss in this one. Jasmines looking around like "This is too good to be true" They always want to shake hands Jasmine lifts her paw for the shake ETA if you look in the background of a couple of the pics you'll see an orange clam pool. I half filled it this morning before they arrived as it was quiet muggy here and I thought they'd appreciate a dip. Did they what??? They love it, so they are quiet the water babies too. They are easy to walk together, I had to walk them this morning to the car together, no probs. No pulling or carrying on. They travelled well also.
  11. Bailey Look at the way he looks at me, as if to say "Cant I come too?" Having a stretch. This boy is so gorgeous, even these pics dont do him justice.
  12. Girls home safe and sound. I so wanted to take Bailey too. I had to walk the girls by his cage. We let them say Goodbye, they gently sniffed nose to nose. It broke my heart. I told him he'd be ok, and I was still working on it and wouldnt let him die.... I hope I can keep my promise to him. He was such a good boy and is sharing his kennel now with another dog. He looked so dissapointed seeing his friends leave. And gee, is he gorgeous - I had forgotten just how much so. Some good news though, Illy told me a lady in QLD was interested in him and working out the price to have him transported to her. So fingers crossed.. At least he is safe (as far as I know) from tommorows pts. Leaves the weekend then. Only a little more time, but sometimes thats all it takes. As for the girls, they are absolutely loveable. I will add some pics of all (including Bailey) shortly. They are being good girls. They tried to shake hands all the way home in the car. *aww* they love cuddles. They have only met Jack through the gate at this stage but boy, were they happy to meet him. Theyre going to need a good bath/brush, but its raining atm, so have to wait til it clears. I may even try and get a hydrobath in for them. They need it. They'll scrub up lovely. Jasmine was born in 01, Alaska in 02. Iam thinking its possibly Mum & daughter, judging by the way they act. Alaska goes to Mum and gives her kisses and more or less asks for the ok. Jasmine can do with a diet (nice change) I am usually fattening them up! Pics to come
  13. Bumping again. Going to pick up the girls shortly. I am taking my camera to get pics of the boy. And not forgetting my memory card this time. Illy ctc'd me this morning asking if Husky Rescue were taking the boy. I am worried he'll be on tommorows list. :D
  14. I think that would be my option also. So long as he doesnt appear to be suffering. But I would be seeking a 2nd opinion, even a 3rd. It would be good if they could remove the tumor at least.
  15. That was beautiful. R.I.P. Lucky
  16. I agree, without a voice, they have no hope. ETA Still in ctc with Husky rescue trying to organise an option for the boy. I was hoping the same, if there was only one - it may make it easier for a Rescue to fit him in. He is such a stunning boy too. If only I had more room for him. :D I have comitted to Alaska and Jasmine now and will do my best to find them a home where they remain together for the rest of their years. The boy appears to be much younger than 8 and doesnt have the clipped/fly bitten ears. They have obviously got him later on. He is a stunner to look at and was very nice when I spent time with him in the run. He came when called, enjoys attention, was fine being handled, and wasnt protective of his treats. He also appeared to walk fine on the lead to the run. He has so much to offer. I hope he gets a chance too. ;)
  17. Update: The 2 girls will be safe with me. There is still the boy - who is URGENT and at this stage, without an option. He is a lovely boy, stunning to look at and with a great nature. I cannot believe he hasnt been snapped up from the pound??? Fingers crossed something comes up for him. I am still trying. I know there were donations offered on these dogs, but can they please be forwarded to the rescue who takes on the boy. (if he makes it to rescue) If a further donation also helps please PM me, as a kind DOL follower has contacted me and also offered to donate if it helps to get him out. A big thank you Barb. BUMP for the remaining boy......
  18. I am still working with Marcus (husky rescue) to try and organise something for these babies. He is trying as best he can to help find an option for them. The biggest Thank you to him and those offering donations for these gorgeous dogs. Hopefully it will help to make a difference.
  19. Thank you. I have sent email. Fingers crossed. (again) I have also re-emailed Marcus. (Husky rescue) and waiting to hear back. Have just recieved reply. No good. He is working on several others from Renbury.
  20. The morning has been full of ups and downs. :D I had found transport and was trying to sort out all the details, BUT then I recieved an email from Richard and Mara. It wasnt good. They have a pregnant girl coming into care and also a fence jumper, hence they have had to change their mind about these 3. They cant risk bringing in a poundie, when they going to have pups. Understandable. I have tried everything and exhausted all avenues now. So close unyet so far, is how it feels.... :D I will email Marcus to see if he's had any luck for a home for the boy.
  21. Still working on transport. I recieved a call this morning from Illy (AWO at pound) asking when I would have them out by as the pound is full and theyre having to double up the pens. Getting desperate now. :D
  22. Will do and a BIG thank you to all who offered support and donations. Hopefully they make it to safety ok. I have put the request in, in the urgent transport requests. Fingers crossed now.
  23. An update: Marcus Fillinger from Husky rescue, sent an email this afternoon. He MAY know of someone interested in adopting the male. He will be in ctc to let me know. He requested a pic and ofcoarse I happily sent. Richard & Mara Herba (also Husky Rescue) may be able to take them IF transport can be arranged to Canberra. So next stop is the transport request, they said they hadnt had a chance to read their emails as theyve been away at a show. I am so happy I am in shock. The last one Richard & Mara helped me with from Blacktown pound, Caspar - a white male, went on to a lovely home in VIC apparently. He does social sledding now. Sounds like a fantastic home. I bet he is sooo happy. Here's hoping these 3 get the same chance at a Happy ending too. I am so happy I know nothing is definate as yet, but there is hope - and thats all that matters!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)
