So very true Dogslife. I feel your pain. I lost my 10yr old Sibe Jay in May, Whitey (6yrs old) in June and then my heartdog Gypsy very suddenly and unexpectedly on 20th July aged almost 12. She was fine one minute, then gone the next. I am still struggling to cope with my losses, especially Gypz. I am lost without my ole girl. Hoping your Dane x gets better soon.

Awww great to hear she is eating, even if she does have a selected diet. Is there only one flavour of smako's she eats or does she like them all?

Keeping you guys in my thoughts Garnali and also keeping everything crossed for the vet visit today. Reminds me a little of the situation I was in with Whitey. He fought so hard to live. That's why I contined to fight for him. Sadly it wasn't to be. Someone up there had other plans for him. This little fellow is so lucky to have you fighting for him. And Caz is right, you'll know in your heart when and if it's time, and he'll let you know too. Hoping for some good news for the little guy today.

And little Jack always talks about you. He wants to send you little presents and always includes you, even though you are not here anymore, well in body you're not - but in spirit - I know you are. You knew how upset I was last night as I was thinking of you and crying for you. When the clock passed midnight, and I quietly told you "Happy Birthday Gippi" - I could feel you were around. I swear I saw you at the corner of my eye, not once, but twice. I saw your name tag move on your urn, I heard the noises you made throughout the night, I saw the lights flicker as I thought of you. You were letting me know, you were and still are, close by. Love you girl. Hope you are getting lots of treats and having loads of fun today. Mummy XXX

I've seen a few episodes on foxtel. The parolees help to train & rehabilitate the dogs. I cried when I watched the last one. There was a pitty who'd had a really rough start and had issues but they worked through them and he found a wonderful home.

Sorry guys, I have been meaning to update this thread. Sadly, Alaska's trial/home didn't work out and she was returned back to us. I was very sad for her but happy to see her again. She is safe here and this will be her home until that forever home comes along, and if it doesn't, this will be her forever home.

Great to hear he is hanging in there and happy. Here's hoping the meds kick in soon to get rid of some of that fluid.
