http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8297934/melbourne-man-seriously-injured-in-dog-attack A Melbourne man has suffered serious injuries to his face and arms after a dog attacked him in the city's northern suburbs. The man, in his 50's, was walking his own dog in the suburb of Glenroy when he was attacked. He has been taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital for treatment. The breed of the dog is not yet known. When is this going to end? I saw it on a newsflash on the tele. They showed a man being taken to an ambulance. I haven't watched the video link of the story yet, just read it. And when will people learn to keep their dogs contained? they are making it look so bad for all of us who do the right thing. Not to mention all the dogs that are going to suffer because of these peoples negligence.

I'd be worried at why they let their 'undesexed' and 'unchipped' cat out to begin with? I understand accidents happen and maybe the cat escaped an open door or something but if the cat meant so much to them - why didn't they have him/her chipped to begin with?, why didn't they go looking for their kitty when he/she was at the pound? I know if I lost a pet I would search high and low for them. What would of happened had the rescue not come forward? the cat in question would no longer be here, no doubt. Listen to them and what they have to say but listen with your head aswell as your heart, for Kitty's sake.

Happy tears here. This is the best news to hear they are home.

It has been 3 yrs since you left this world Cass. You were never sick. Always the strong and hardy one and I thought always in good health. But then you started drinking way more than you should of been. Your belly was starting to swell and you were quieter than your usual talkative self. You were the kind of husky that loved to talk. I knew when I picked up the lead and called "Walkies" when you just sat there that something was seriously wrong. So off to the vet we rushed. I just had a bad feeling about it all. They did a test to see what your belly was full of and it was my worst fear - blood. I remember they had great difficulty taking blood from you so they had to shave your neck and take it from there. I also remember you trying to get out that surgery door. You obviously knew - what I didn't know. I kissed you and told you Goodbye and that I would see you later in the afternoon after your op. You wanted more than anything to come with me. I remember looking at you as you looked back at me as they lead you to the surgery. They had to open you up to see what was going on. The vet suspected a bleeding tumor on the spleen. As I Sat nervously back at home, I knew as soon as that phone rang that it was bad news. They'd opened you up and you were full of tumors. You were slowly bleeding to death. I begged them on the phone to do anything they could to save you but there was nothing they could do. I was screaming and crying and felt so helpless. They told me if they had of sewed you up and sent you home, you would bleed to death within 24-48 hrs so I made the hardest decision of my life. I had to let you go. As much as I wanted to bring you home to die in my arms, I couldn't bear to see you suffer and bleeding to death so I had to let go. The vet said you were under the general and wouldn't feel or know what was happening. Later that afternoon I came to see you. To say my final Goodbye. I stayed with you for a long time, just talking and crying and telling you how sorry I was that I had to do what I had to do. You were only 7. It all happened so fast. You were ok one day, a little quiet the next, and gone the day after. Miss you lots and lots girl. I bet you were surprised to see Jay and Gyps and Whitey again and I bet Claude was surprised to see you turn up so soon. You's were always so close. Hoping you are all running free and happy until I get there. XXXXX

A Fitzroy Crossing man who killed and ate a puppy in front of horrified onlookers, including a five-year-old child, has escaped jail. West Kimberley Magistrate Colin Roberts sentenced Daniel Thomas Adriaens, 27, to a 12-month pre-sentence order, saying the incident was "abhorrent and shocking" and the worst case of animal cruelty he had seen. Adriaens, a chronic solvent sniffer living in a humpy near the Fitzroy River, pleaded guilty to ill treating the animal but claimed he had killed it humanely. About 6pm on April 23, a passerby heard a puppy yelping near the river and found Adriaens cutting its throat with a knife. By the time police attended, he had gutted and roasted it and cut off its ears, storing one in his backpack. He told police he had done it because he was "starving hungry". http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/wa/10231021/man-killed-and-ate-puppy/ This is absolutely disgusting. He should of got jail IMO. What a joke. R.I.P. to that poor puppy. Makes you wonder how many others he did it to... Bloody sicko. Starving hungry my arse, there is no excuse for that. And they let him off to walk the streets yet again. Rediculous.

Thanks Cody. It's been 2 mths tommorow since Gypsy crossed the Rainbow bridge and I am still crying. I will for some time to come. I have my good days and my bad. I thought today was a good day until tonight.... We had Jacks 5th Birthday party today and although everything turned out fine, includ. the weather - it just wasn't the same. Gypsy has been here to help celebrate all his other Birthdays. Yesterday I was standing infront of the heater. I was fine at first as I warmed my back but as soon as I turned to warm my front, I was standing almost eye to eye with her urn. I broke down big time. I was sobbing like a baby but trying not to let Jack see me. He heard me and came to see what was wrong. He looked at me as I held my hand against the glass bawling my eyes out and said nothing. He knew. I am also still grieving for Whitey and Jay Jay. I miss them all so so much. To think this time last year we were all one big happy family. I would never of expected in a million years to lose 3 and so close.

OMG how terrible. R.I.P. to poor Mum and bubs. My thoughts are with you and the breeder. So sad. Was it her first litter? her first time under anaesthetic? I wonder if she had a reaction to it? I hope the breeder gets answers. That would be so heartbreaking.

Poor pup. I was hoping the owner wouldn't show up.

Council Shocked As Dog Owners Offer Pit Bulls For Death

R.I.P. to those poor dogs. This is beyond sad. -
There's been another dog attack in Melbourne - this time a 27-year-old man was bitten on the lip after calling over the animal in order to pat it. Police say the man was walking through a reserve in Berwick, in Melbourne's southeast, about 7pm (AEST) on Monday when he called over the dog he described as similar to a Staffordshire terrier. As the man leant forward to pat it, the dog jumped up and bit him on the lip. He was taken to the Dandenong Hospital where he isexpected to have plastic surgery. Police are appealing for the dog's owner or anyone who may have seen the attack to come forward. The attack follows the fatal mauling four weeks ago of four-year-old Ayen Chol who was mauled to death in her St Albans home by a neighbour's pit bull mastiff. On August 23, two dogs attacked an elderly woman in her Ringwood home and last week three hockey players warming up before a game were bitten by a dog being exercised off its leash. In that incident, one of the boys from Altona's Under 15 A-grade team suffered two tears to the back of his knee while another suffered bruising and teeth marks to his lower calf. http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/mp/10193689/another-dog-attack-in-melbourne/ They had to bring that poor little girl into it, yet again.

Wow, she was a gorgeous girl Anne. I have been thinking of you and wondering how you have been coping. I am only a phone call away if you ever need to talk, or just cry. It's never easy losing a furkid, especially one you've had so long. R.I.P. Miss Molly. xxx

My husky boy, Whitey was diagnosed with an immune disease back in Sept last year. I knew every day I had with him was precious and knew in my heart our time was limited. We had our rollercoaster ride of ups and downs along the way, but he fought so hard & battled on and wanted nothing more - than to live. He lasted 9 mths after first being diagnosed. I am grateful for that extra 9 months I had with him. I don't think we'd ever been closer to be honest. I took lots and lots of pics, because I knew everyday could of been our very last. Enjoy your girl and every day you have with her.

Good on you for taking him home & bathing him Teebs. Poor little bugger. How old is he? And I agree it probably is a good idea to crate your furkids and let Junior sleep on the bed - if you want some sleep that is. Goodluck and please keep us updated.

I am not sure what their lenses are like but if it is anything like they're jewellery, I'd steer clear. I got suckered in when I first started on ebay a couple years ago but know better now. I also got a mask from there once for the kids, and it was so bad I applied for a refund. I think if the kids had of put it on, they would of passed out, the chemical smell was so bad.
