  1. It's not that I don't like cats, I just prefer dogs. :D
  2. The other day I tried to get one of Cody (Takoda) with the hat on. It's her very first Xmas. But no luck. So tonight I was determined to try again. I conned her with some treats and got a couple of half decent pics. I managed to get a scarf on her. But it's half obvious I have a treat in my hand. Those eyes and smile give it away. Still chewing her treat Finally!!! Got her with the ears and scarf on. ETA I will upload pics of all the other's once I have taken them.
  3. I love everyone's Christmas pics. Here are some of our's from last year. My beautiful old girl Gypsy who is no longer with us. R.I.P. Jasmine (foster failure) Luki (another foster failure) Blacky This years (so far) to come in my next post.
  4. No probs T. Re. harness. Will do. I am pleased to hear Ellie went so well yesterday on her little excursion. Dog love her, it must of been a real adventure for her. Thanks for taking her T and also for taking her for a walk afterwards.
  5. Have you tried a Cuz? they are fantastic and hardy. You'd probably be best off with a medium but if you PM Wagsalot she will be able to advise best size. I am pretty sure Michelle also offers a 5% discount to DOLers. ;) http://www.wagsalot.com.au/?subcats=Y&status=A&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&pkeywords=Y&search_performed=Y&cid=0&q=cuz&dispatch=products.search&x=7&y=11 They also have leads and collars. http://www.wagsalot.com.au/dog-collars-and-leads.html
  6. We all like to make Christmas Special for our loved one's, especially our doggies. This year mine have got a combination of toys and food treats. Each year I make them a stocking each. I fill it with Shmacko's, dried liver, dog choc drops, dog choc chip cookies, bow wowwy pork bits, dried chicken necks and a pigs ear each. I then put them all onto one big stocking and hang it high, ready for Christmas Day. I also do this for Mums dogs and usually the in laws dogs aswell. No wonder they all love me. With the toys I usually wrap them and leave them under the tree, but this year will not be putting them all out until Christmas Eve as a certain little husky pup would have her own Christmas as we slept through the night. Yes Takoda, I am talking about you.... Takoda has got a pink Flamingo bird, another Cuz, (gave in and gave her the 1st one) a little holly Jolly Santa, and a Rex. (all from Wagsalot ). The other's (Including rescues, as they are treated as family aswell) have Cuz's, Rex's, and little Santa's too. And I still have one more order to go. So what is under your for your pooch(es) this Xmas?
  7. Wow 26 years old..... R.I.P. little Pusuke Run young and free again xxx
  8. I was worried about the same thing when my little one was flown from NT to me in Sydney in October. I was also going to start a thread. She was fine though. A little quiet when she came out of the crate and on the drive home but as soon as she was home, had something to eat and drink, she came to life. But gee she slept well that night. She was just on 8 weeks old, and is a husky pup. I am sure your baby will be fine.
  9. I am sad it didn't work out for Ellie with the potential fosterer's dog. Good on you for trying though Dogmad. I am going to walk her tommorow or Thursday and will update when I do. I am not feeling the best atm, otherwise I would of went today.
  10. I was the same before I got my Takoda in October. I went through the nesting stage big time. I wanted everything to be just right when she arrived. In regards to having supplies ready for her arrival, I had most of the basics here already. I just had to buy toys and boy did I buy some and some new vetbeds.
  11. Thinking of you guys for tommorow and hoping all goes well.
  12. I saw it the night before last for the first time and same, I cried like a baby. It was not what I expected, I thought the whole movie was meant to be a comedy. It made me laugh and cry. I loved it. I had my Takoda on the bed with me as I watched it and everytime I cried, snuggled into her.
  13. Red dog. Hachi Eight below And ofcoarse Lassie come home.
  14. A pack of dogs that had never known life outside a cage played in the sunshine and sniffed the sodden grass after they were rescued by an animal rights group. The tear-jerking video, that has become an internet sensation, shows a total of 40 beagles taking their first hesitant steps into freedom and open air with looks of amazement in their big puppy dog eyes. The dogs were set free from lab in Spain as part of a rescue operation by Animal Rescue Media Education (ARME), a nonprofit organisation. The video shows the cautious canines bewilderingly placing their paws on the grass after their cages are opened. However, it takes some of the dogs more than 10 minutes to muster the courage to leave their cages. So far, the group has rescued 72 dogs, with 40 arriving in Los Angeles this week to be put up for adoption. The rest of the dogs had already been adopted in Europe. http://au.news.yahoo.com/world/a/-/world/12200640/Emotional-video-shows-rescued-dogs-set-free-for-the-first-time It made me cry.
  15. I have to agree with you there. When I first took the clam pool there I asked M to leave it where Ellie could reach it on her rope. She said it would get muddy and so we set it up further down the back on the grass. I mentioned it today. I had to. I asked her to set it up on the concrete just below the steps and to please leave it set up so she could reach it when it's hot. Whether she does or not is a different story. I even took her a longer run so she could enjoy a little more freedom to splash and swim - with clips I attached either end to make it easy for M to move her about. I didn't see that there today either. She mentioned Ellie likes to get in up to her knee's in the bucket whereas the pool isn't that deep. I said it might not be that deep but she can get in there and splash herself cool and could lay down if she wanted to. I said she can't do that in a bucket. They really don't have a clue do they? When I was there today M dissapeared into the laundry and came back with the pink lead and choker you guys had left there. She thought she had broken it because the chocker had come undone and was hanging straight. I had to show her how it works. In all honesty I hope they don't walk her. They don't have a clue or the confidence to do so and it could lead to disaster for Ellie. I took note of her ears also and was relieved and pleased to see she had been putting the cream on.
  16. Not long got back from walking Ellie. I was going to go tommorow instead of today but they say we are in for storms tommorow so went today. I only got one picture because my blasted camera went flat but I will upload it later. She didn't have her pool out but M says she had it earlier today and that she'd put it away. Ellie was very happy to see me. We encountered a kid on our walk today. He would of been about 6 or 7 and was very forward. He went to approach Ellie but I stopped him in his tracks as it startled her, and me. He asked if she bites and I said I wasn't sure whether she had been around kids before so best not to pat her. All the while I was talking to him, he was about 1.5 metres away from her and she was such a good girl. She was more interested in what was going on with the cars driving past. She was buggered by the time we got back. Straight into the other water bucket she has there for a splash. She watched intently as I left I told her I'd be back in a couple days and we'd walk again. When I first turned up she'd just sat down to a big meaty bone but abandoned it quick smart according to M when she heard my voice and knew I was there. Overall though we had a nice long walk and she did really well. She'll sleep well tonight that's for sure. ;)
  17. Here is the pic they are referring to incase anyone cannot open the link. ;) It's a gorgeous pic. I cried when I read it. Although I have been meaning to read the link here on DOL, I found it this morning whilst looking for another news story on nine msn. I cried because it is such a lovely story and because I can relate to it. Only yesterday while we were outside playing with Takoda and Jasmine, I stopped for a moment to admire Takoda and realised just how much she not only is very similiar to how Gyps was in nature - but also looks like her. I took a couple of photos as I was thinking this... both came out with a similiar effect. This one shows it up more. My first thought when I saw it was "Gyps is in there". It's not the first pic I have taken of Takoda that has showed up some kind of aura around her. It makes you wonder sometimes.....

  19. Good girl Ellie. So proud of you for doing so well. Great work Dogmad, Juice & "Bon". and lovely of you MM to give her a trampoline bed. I am hoping to get out in the next couple of days (hoping for tommorow afternoon) to take her for a walk. For a Christmas miracle for Ellie girl. xxx
  20. A quick update on Jasmine. She is going as strong as ever. She'll be 10 in a few months! Our very special senior, though you'd never guess it. She gets about like a youngen. She's so very sweet. She has been a good Mumma to little Takoda and teaches her how to behave around other dogs. The only time she really plays with Takoda is in the morning when she thinks we're all asleep and can't see her. It's so cute and hard not to notice when they're jumping up on the bed running all over us playing zoomies. I just pretend to be asleep otherwise if she see's I am awake, she stops playing, funny girl she is. Outside she plays with her though, whether I am watching or not. She rolls onto her back and gets a free belly scratch while Takoda pounces all over her. Her and Jack are still as close as ever and now that Bailey is getting older (he's 3yrs now), he too is showing more interest in her. He panics when he cannot find her and screams "Jaz, Jaz" until he finds her. A couple pics I got today outside. Please excuse the jungle, it needs a good mow after all the rain we've just had. It was so nice to finally see some sun. ETA spelling
  21. He's gorgeous Pers. A beautiful photo.
