Just a thought, but if they have only moved recently, maybe the girls just need a little more time to settle to their new home??? Has the owner sought help or even tried to rectify the problem(s) with them not coping?. I also take it they are not desexed. Could the owner not get this done prior to rehoming? Hope it all works out for them.

'usual aggresive self' - whywas this dog not properly trained in the first place. There is no reason at all for a dog just coz its small to have its aggressive behaviour accept as 'normal'. The dog and the dog owner need proper trainingin how to make the dog a proper pet not yet another aggressive uncontrolled little dog. Cesar Milan has made millions due to people not discplining their dog when its young and teaching it the correct behaviour. If the owner can understand that its up to her and the family to retrain the dog with proper behaviourist (since if they get rid of this dog the behaviour will repeat with another dog til they realise what needs to be done pack order and all), or rehome to a JRT group who can rehab the dog and place it in an appropriate home where it will be disciplined or pts if both options are not feasible BUT they need to not get another til understanding dog/human hierachy. A subordinate to human dog would never ever be aggressive once a human steps in and takes control and if it did accidentally react (persephone comment above)and bite it would immediately let go and turn very submissive for fear of the alpha dogs reaction. Last year when I was dropping a dog off for desexing I was sitting at the vets in the waiting room, listening and watching as this lady held her little puppy at the counter. She had him cradled in her arms. He was there to have his vaccination. (he was only a bub, a wee little thing). Anyways, she went to sit him down on the counter infront of her and he snapped at her, I mean full on. he was protesting that he didn't want to be put onto the counter and wanted to be held. The lady owner proceeded to laugh and shy away from him as though she was afraid of him. I could not believe my eye's. She went to pick him up, he did it again. The vet nurse says "Does he do this all the time?" the lady replied "Yes, he's cranky all the time" and she laughed. The vet nurse started to tell her that she had to put that to a stop to that now before it got out of hand. The owner was not taking the vet nurse seriously, she clearly didn't have a clue. I had to say something. I told her it was not right, that it's not normal for him to be biting her like that and that if she didn't correct him now, it was going to get alot worse as he got older. I also told her that she has to let him know she is the boss, the pack leader - not him. With 2 people telling her the same thing, she seemed to take it a little more seriously but still, I am not sure if it sunk in or not.

Aww they not only look adorable but sound adorable too T. :) And same. This weather is driving me bonkers. It's so humid and feels so ikky. The poor dogs have had enough of it too, and the kids. So much for summer. :laugh:

Not long after I picked her up from the vet and still a little groggy. Her little tummy post op. Nice and comfy in her crate. I am going to miss her sleeping on the bed tonight. (but prefer to be safe than sorry).

:laugh: @ the sooky-la-la comment. I was lost without her today. There was a fill in vet on and they were going to keep her in overnight but I wasn't comfortable with that. I was scared she'd rip her stitches out or something, and preferred to have her home where I can keep an eye on her. :) (no one is on duty there overnight). I wouldn't of been able to sleep otherwise. She is in her crate atm snoozing away. On the way home in the car she looked at her tummy and whimpered, then looked at me as if to say "It hurts Mummy", . She was very happy to see me when I arrived to pick her up. They carried her in through the rear door and she was looking around trying to find me. Once she saw me she looked so relieved. As was I to see her. :D And yes I have been fussing over her, even before she came home. :laugh: Making sure her vetbeds were washed and dried, and making her a special chicken and vege broth which she loved when she got home. She had 2 bowls of it! Oh and speaking of school, my little Jack starts kindy in a few days time. I am going to miss him so much. Here is my little girl - growing up so fast. She is so beautiful, both on the inside and out. Even the vet nurse commented on how well behaved she was, especially for a puppy. :) Some recent pics And a couple to come, taken tonight.

It must be fairly common T. Chloe did the same thing. I remember thinking when the pups were born that I'd have to hand raise them as she was going them. Thankfully she didn't do any damage. I upped her calcium intake and she settled into a better Mumma. Gorgeous pups. I am glad they are safe now and glad the owner has agreed to you guys desexing Mumma before returning her.

An update on little Takoda. Well not so little anymore. She is 5.5 mths and bigger than Jasmine now. Oh and she towers over her little mate Princess. :laugh: She is on her way to the vet for desexing later today. I have been crying like a baby. I put her collar on her this morning and she went and grabbed her lead herself thinking she was going for a walk. Then I had to strap her into OH's car and she knew something was up as she went crazy trying to get out to get to me. Any other time, she is fine in the car. She's only been gone for about an hour and I miss her already. I just hope everything goes ok. I rang OH he said she was dropped off ok and that he had her lead and collar in the car, which set me off again. I am such a sook. But I can't help it. I love her so much and don't want anything to go wrong. Here I am crying like a baby and she's probably there playing with the other doggies having a ball. :laugh: I have to call after 3pm to see how she went. If all goes well I will get to bring her home this afternoon. I will update some new pics later.

I just ordered one of those one's from France for Takoda. (Jazzie is getting the free one. ;) ) I cannot wait to see them in real life. They look so pretty. :) Love your one too Stormie.

Actually, having spoken to the DPI in Victoria, the law does not apply to rescue groups - only registered shelters and pounds. So not sure why the rescue group would feel that "the law made them do it" - maybe because they extrapolated the shelter law, and thought it automatically applied to them. But if you are a CFCN it does not. So the foster care arrangement with a prospective owner until an appropriate desexing age/size/weight would have been a perfectly valid option in this situation. So now I am even more upset at such an unnecessary death!
