That's just so wrong. Why didn't the person who was so unhappy with this ladies dogs just call the council and report the dog(s)? Seriously, How hard is it to pick up a phone? Poor dog, not her fault if there are no fences.

So the rescue sent YOU directly to the pound to pick up a dog that's due date had been and gone? That is so wrong on so many levels and not how a reputable rescue works. The dog should of been taken into care by the rescue, vetted and thoroughly assessed before being placed into a foster home, especially one with another dog. If this had of been done, chances are your little one would still be here today. It is concerning that there are rescues out there calling for donations (and getting them) and then pulling dogs from pounds and chucking them into foster homes without assessing the dog. Do not blame yourself for your little one's loss - you obviously didn't know any better when getting involved with this facebook rescue - but please please please - for the sake of someone else's little dog - report it and don't lie to cover the truth. To be honest I am surprised you would lie to begin with. Think of your little dog and what he went through - surely you don't want another dog to go through the same??? surely you don't want someone else's kids to be heartbroken like yours have been? Because chances are somewhere down the track - this dog will encounter other dogs - and chances are the same thing could happen. As for the rescue involved - :mad

My old girl Gyps had a couple of those lipoma things, one in the same place as your boy TLC (almost identical in appearance too) and one near her foot and they never caused her any grief.

Ad I Saw... Isn't This Illegal?

OMG how long has this been going on for? I know if I lost one of mine the first place I would check would be the vet and the pound. Does your friend not know that microchips can sometimes move & be missed when they're scanned? My little sibe girl lost hers altogether when she was done in the NT. I had to have her re-done. I am so glad I checked when she arrived though otherwise I wouldn't of known and if she had of got lost and ended in the wrong hands - I may never of seen her again. Just because there is no microchip or one cannot be detected, doesn't mean the dog is yours to keep or rehome. Sorry but that is just so wrong... -
GREAT news!!!! :cheer: :dancingelephant: :cheer:

The Strangest Thing Just Happened Here
k9angel replied to Staffyluv's topic in General Dog Discussion
Shite Staffyluv - reading that gave me goosebumps. I'd be keeping Ziggy inside whenever you go out... IMO you have good reason to be concerned. How did he get access to the freezer? I take it it is behind the gate? - did he just walk in? -
Oh no. I am so sorry to hear Reggie is missing. he is found safe and sound soon.

http://au.news.yahoo.com/world/a/-/world/13284207/choking-dog-saves-its-own-life/ A dog choking on a phone cord has saved its own life by dialling emergency services. George the basset hound knocked his owner's home phone to the ground and was playing with it when it wrapped around his neck, The Sun reports. As the cord wrapped tighter around his neck, a panicked George managed to accidentally dial 999 – the number for British emergency services. Alarmed by the heavy panting on the other end of the line, police officers were immediately sent around to the West Yorkshire home. Just as police were preparing to kick in the door and save the life of the clearly very unwell person on the other side, a neighbour, Paul, produced a key. Paul had been given the key by George's 18-year-old owner, Lydia, so he could feed the basset hound while she went to work as a waitress. Bursting in to the home, they were greeted by the sight of George, struggling to breathe with the phone cord around his neck. Speaking to The Sun, Paul said police thought they were responding to a genuine emergency. "The police split up and ran through the house thinking someone had either been attacked or was desperately ill. I went to look round as well and walked into this room and saw George choking. He was absolutely terrified and could not free himself. I knew I had to get him free quickly so I just ripped the wire out. Incredibly you could see where his paw print was on the phone to ring 999 — he literally saved his own life. When the police came into the room and realised what had happened they burst out laughing." George's owner Lydia was amazed when she came home to discover the fuss her pet pooch had caused. "He's not usually very smart", She said, "He's really dopey and just likes to chew socks." What are the chances of that happening? I am glad he was able to be saved in time.

You handled it well Yellowgirl. The right home will come along for her. :) And as others have mentioned, it's not just the vet work we pay for, but also food, worming, heartworm & flea prevention, etc and depending how long the dog is in care, it can easily go into the hundreds. -

Awww he's gorgeous. Great save guys. -
My girl didn't come trained already. I doubt the breeder would of had the time to train several sibe pups + look after and show several adult dogs at the same time. (he has a family with kids and works fulltime also). I am not even sure if the pups were allowed inside the house? (they had specially made runs) so toilet training was done here too. But they had plenty of human contact with the breeder and his family, and plenty of socialisation with the other dogs there. The training, including housebreaking and further socialisation is usually your job. :)

Totally agree. I have four that play with the cat. One that loves little dogs. It totally depends on the dog. They do play rough though and zoomies OMG the zoomies. Pooch1 I have just posted in the Sibe thread, so it's on page one. Come in and say hi and post some pics. Husky zoomies are Seriously some of the speeds Takoda gets up to - all the while she manages to whiz around corners and come to a stop when she has to.

Lovely pics Muttrus with a lovely story to go with them. Good on you for giving him a chance. It makes me feel sad and physically sick when I hear of young, healthy dogs being put to sleep. I would of walked to the other side of the world and back for my angels (RIP), just to have an extra day with them yet these poor buggars have nothing and no one... it's so unfair. Lucky this boy has you now Muttrus and a whole new future to look forward to. I just wish everyone loved their dogs like we do.
