Sorry can't help with recommendations for a vet in your area but I wouldn't be waiting any longer and would get him to a vet, any vet asap. I wouldn't be taking any chances. Goodluck, I hope he is ok.

k9angel replied to Just Andrea's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
She's gorgeous JA and very lucky to be in your care. As for names, she looks like an "Angel" or "Anais" to me. (pronounced An-nay). :) Goodluck with the surgery, hope it all goes well for her. -
R.I.P. Zena. I wish all the bad karma in the world on the person who done this to you.

I lost my boy, Whitey, to IMT last year after a 12mth battle. Absolutely horrible disease. Fingers crossed for your friends dog Kirislin.

Are People Rude Or Am I Too Sensitive?
k9angel replied to GSDowner's topic in General Dog Discussion
Me too. :) Although I would never comment to someone that their dog looks old, I do take notice and it always touches my heart when I see a golden oldie out on a stroll with their master. -
Yay! great news. I bet that was one happy reunion. :)

That made me cry. Poor Missy, thank Dog she was found and rescued by those wonderful people. I would never abandon any of my dogs like that. Never. I would either carry them or stay with them. That guy definately does not deserve to get her back.

It's too little, too late in my eye's. This group clearly doesn't care about the welfare of the dogs they pull from pounds. Far from it. They never have and never will. IMO you either have a conscience or you don't... full stop. To them it seems to be all about the numbers. How many they can pull and how much $ they can make off these Death row dogs and to me, that is the lowest of the low.

Hugs and thanks Katdogs - for loving him until the end. R.I.P. Maggot. xxx

Happy Birthday to my beautiful girl, Takoda who turned 1 today! It feels like only yesterday that I picked her up from the airport. This past 12 months has been a roller coaster ride of emotions after losing 3 of my own dogs, including my heart dog, Gypsy. Takoda has helped get me through this difficult time and has helped to make me smile again. Words cannot even begin to describe just how much she means to me. Happy Birthday my beautiful Cody Rhodes. xxx I hope you had a great day and I look forward to celebrating many more Birthdays with you. I made her Birthday cake. The cake itself is a honey & carrot cake frosted with cream cheese. The pink was made using a tiny tad of beetroot and the chocolate borders/writing I piped on with melted carob. :) I baked all the doggy treats, and also made the dog chocolates by melting down carob drops and putting them into molds (stars, leaves, hearts and the larger hearts with cupids in them). They had peanut butter doggies, choc (carob) dipped peanut butter bones, tuna, cheese and garlic bones and liver chip cookies. I also made some pupcakes. (mini meatloaves) for the doggies to eat. :) This cake was made by the cake shop. (for us) Take note some icing is missing from one side. As we were organising Takoda's presents to give to her, some certain little Miss was out in the kitchen helping herself to some of our cake! Present time. They were wrapped but the kids gave her a helping hand to unwrap them. She got some toys, including a musical Birthday cake, peace pal, a giant mouse and her fav. "Fabio the funky Flamingo" squawkie talkie from Wagsalot. OMG that thing is hilarious and had us all in stitches. I also got her a solid 14kt gold heart tag, that came all the way from the U.S. More pics to come and I will try and upload some video of Fabio so you can hear his noises. :)

A photograph of a 19-year-old arthritic dog taking a relaxing dip in Lake Superior, Canada has captured the hearts of millions online. The image was posted to Facebook by photographer Hannah Stonehouse Hudson, who wrote: "This 19-year-old [schoep is] being cradled in his father's arms last night in Lake Superior. Schoep falls asleep every night when he is carried into the lake. The buoyancy of the water soothes his arthritic bones. Lake Superior is very warm right now, so the temperature of the water is perfect. I was so happy I got to capture this moment for John [unger]. By the way, John rescued Schoep as an 8-month-old puppy, and he's been by his side through many adventures :)." The photo, first posted last week, has been viewed more than 2 million times and has received more than 200,000 "likes" from Facebook users. In the picture, the dog appears to be asleep while being cradled in Unger's arms as the two wade in the lake. "My specialty is documenting relationships, whether it's a wedding or a man and his dog," Hudson told the Pioneer Press." John lives his life in a kind way. He rescued this dog as a puppy, they have gone everywhere together ever since. Schoep has arthritis now, and John finds that the water is therapeutic. He is the kind of person who wants his animals to be comfortable. I wanted to capture their relationship. I told John, 'I really need to get photos of you and your dog.'" After a busy week shooting wedding photos, Hudson says she was shocked at how quickly the photograph grew in popularity. "I never thought that this many people would see the same thing," she told the paper. "I know this is not about me--it's about a guy who loves his dog--but I am in complete awe that my photo has had such an impact." Hudson is selling prints of the photo, "John & Schoep," on her website and says she'll donate a percentage of the sales to help pay for Schoep's veterinarian bills. http://au.news.yahoo.com/world/a/-/world/14509384/beautiful-photo-goes-viral-online/ What a gorgeous pic.
