  1. I dont know about this but I think funnel webs are most deadly to primates, oh and their prey of course, I dont think they affect cats at all. A funny thing happened many years ago, my sister and I were about to enter my flat when my flatmates cat spied a big black spider on the front door mat. Although we dont have funnel webs here it sure looked like one to me, it was doing the full on rearing up with front legs. Just as she went for it, my sister leapt forward and grabbed the cat by the tail, hoping I think to pull it away from spidey and flung it about 10ft, but at the same time the spider leapt forward and landed on the cats nose. As you can imagine there was much girly squealing. OMG..that is hilarious ...nevertheless I think I would of had to change my undies. Something about spiders and snakes, that gives me uncontrollable heart palpitations!!
  2. Yes, the same building as last year. The shows are not until February 27th and 28th so the closing date is January 28th and 29th, but remember Rochester AH & P Champ show is held in the morning (8-30am start) and Bendigo starts later at 3-30 pm, allowing those who want to do all 3 shows time to arrive and set up. :D
  3. I didn't attend the bike expo..but if it was inside at the newly built pavilion..I would say..Yes
  4. Have just been advised that the Bendigo and Eaglehawk Kennel Club shows will be held indoors at the Exhibition center at the showgrounds, this is for the convenience of exhibitors and dogs.... Certain club members have worked hard in securing this venue, so it would be great to see you there in support.
  5. Great advice 'Diva' If I'm ever unsure about any of my dogs well-being, I take their temp first then have a systems check...gums, pulse rate, complete scan of the body for anything foreign or bites and simply watch water, food intake and watch for, out of the ordinary movement or behavior, never panic in these situations, unless you know for certain its something crucial...snake bite, bloat etc Good luck with your baby, talk to your breeder today and keep us posted...a second vets opinion on the first diagnosis would be recommended...and the only 'real' way they can know for sure if its something more sinister is by having x-rays done.
  6. I own and breed dogs and run a hairdressing business from home....firstly, by law my dogs are not allowed in the salon however I have many doggy friends and if they crate their dogs on hot days whilst having their own hair done I will allow their dogs into the air con salon, only if I have no other clients coming in whilst they are in or afterwards. My floor is always vaccumed and washed afterwards! Most of my clients children are well supervised and are a delight to have around whilst their parents are having their hair done but I have had a few on the odd occasions those that are little terrors ...some parents leave it up to the business owner or staff to watch over their kids...not this little black duck!!! if they don't behave in a reasonable manner I let them know and if the parent doesn't like what I have to say, they can find another hairdresser...must admit in my 23 years of hairdressing I've only had to sternly speak to 2 kids! I will be surprised if council doesn't fine the salon owner for having her dog in there.....shame, I would like nothing more than to have my dogs to be around me 24/7 but work is work and the law is the law. Hopefully the little girl will be OK
  7. Your puppy seems to be roaching just after the point of the anticlinal vertebra and lumbar region, whilst you have some great advice already from other members, you need to stop looking at him and allow him to grow, as stated previously this is just the uglies, not all puppies do this but some do and grow into themselves. Don't allow him to rough house with other dogs, keep in close contact with your breeder in regards to the matter, your breeder will best advise you what to do or not what to do. Personally I think you are moving this puppy too fast, slow him down and allow him to relax when on lead. His movement photo shows his movement is all over the shop and if the vets and other qualified experts say there is nothing wrong with your puppy, stop worrying and just let him grow. Stop looking at him at least until he is 12months of age. I have had 2 Great Danes previously do this as young pups, chiro and vet checked them out and nothing wrong and they both had lovely toplines as adults. Good luck.
  8. Hi T & S We recently had a girl with cystitis, a course of antibiotics, yogurt and I brought some cranberry capsules from the chemist, broke one capsule open and placed it on her brekky every morning for a week...normally too much protein in the urine can be the cause, was the case with my bitch!, next day after noticing the blood she bounced back to near normal,...girl power!! Hoping your girl has a speedy recovery. Kathy Darkat Great Danes http://www.darkatgreatdanes.com
