  1. Okay was the lovely Morgan a few dogs dog from us in baby sweepies this arvo?? And if so how did you go in the end? I couldnt stay as I had to meet hubby and the kids down the other end. Toby got baby of breed - no surprise but the judge was nice and thorough. He did NOT walk well at all and for breed when he tabled he anticipated the judges approach and got so excited. He thinks its soooooooo much fun i fear he shall never take it seriously but hey he wasnt shy and doesnt mind being examined, just wants to kiss them! Jess YAY!! the first will be great - you'll feel so much better after that! The Ark - Thanks for the chat this arvo - I didnt feel like such a nigel no friends since the kids only came for 1/2 an hour I have to say from where I was standing the judge was seriously considering charm for (I think it was minor in) group. Any other results in? Bec
  2. Have emailed them Thankyou - I really MUST have one :D :D
  3. hmmm I want one but no luck I dont understand why they're not here too :D
  4. were showing this weekend....our last baby puppy show Toby is growing up!!
  5. ohhh they sell the wooden ones??? how exciting!!
  6. Okay - another grooming q from the newbie. I have read a bit about the chris christensen brushes and am going to find the little wonder 27mm but I am very keen to find the wooden pin one, as in the pins themselves are made of wood. Does anyone know if you can get them in OZ? the only place I have found them is overseas. Thanks Bec
  7. WOW thats AWESOME!!! Thankyou sooooooo much. It's perfect! Such a nice thing to do for complete strangers. Bec n Toby
  8. We didnt show this weekend but we had obedience this morning and competed in handlers day. Tobes was great, they commented on how switched on he was and his instructors love him to bits. One of those days where I was so proud of him and can feel everything clicking and I am crossing my fingers that translates in the ring next time. It will be our last baby show! AWESOME WIN BINDII AND FLETCHER!!! Bec
  9. My thoughts are with you and I hope you manage some happy moments through your tears. We went through a similar situation with our 11yr Malt in my avatar in feb this year. She was so special and my shadow but in her last days would barely manage outside for a walk so we sat for hours on the front steps. Your story has brought me to tears all over again. We got an amazing last week and yes, we knew when it was time too. Its just not fair that after so long of love and loyalty, of providing us friendship and comfort that they are taken in this way. I too willed her to go in her sleep but in the end we made that call. Rant and vent all your like and know there are many here who understand your pain and your grief to come. Take comfort in the time you have to say goodbye and know you are giving your dog a special gift by ending the suffering. Thinking of you Bec
  10. He has been having chicken necks for the past three months hes been here and before that with his breeder. Hubby added some proplan puppy in which of course could be the culprit although it was a tiny ammount in with his royal canin , but not even a 1/2 handful a day. He was shown and had obedience last weekend so I guess there is a possibility he picked up something but really apart from the runs the dog is himself. Initiating all his fave games like fetch ect. The only time he is ever unhappy is when I dont give him his patch on the bed quick enough lol. It seemes to have slowed somewhat and he has only had two trips to poop since 5pm. He is having frequent small serves of chicken and rice for his tummy which I have been giving him warmed. Chew toys are in the freezer for his gums and hubby is complaining the dog gets looked after better than him. And sas - yep be thankful!! lol good thing I am an endoscopy nurse and it doesnt phase me. I have a squeezy bottle of diluted shampoo by the tub for a quick a warm water rinse under a running tap - thankful that he is a toy breed though
  11. So Toby is almost 6 months old his diet is normally Royal canin morning and lunch and chicken necks for dinner. He tends to hold out for his necks all day and isnt really loving his royal canin except when I use it for training. He is teething at the moment and has had soft stools now for a few days which are now quite runny. He normally has very firm stools. He is happy, alert, drinking and weeing. Has great caplillary refill. Annoyed that hes having his bum washed several times a day. He is not off his food at all and wants to go for a walk and do his training (while we have done some obedience a few times a day I havent walked him for two days). So like with babies, can they just simply get the runs as a side effect of teething?? I have switched him to boiled chicken with rice since yesterday. It seemed to improve a bit yesterday so I let him have a chicken neck this morning and its now runny, so back to the chicken and rice. If he shows any signs of dehydration or anything else I will of course take him to a vet ASAP otherwise he will be watched closely and if no improvement he will go on monday morning Cheers Bec
  12. Hi guys - Would it be okay if I posted asking for a sig too please? My lil one is so much bigger now Thankyou Bec This is Toby (otherwise known as Yysur Wortheverycent)
  13. Jess, I had the exact same issue with the dogsnsw site. I emailed them and they were fine and reset it or something?? I also didnt get my issues of the mag/gazette and emailed them they fixed that too Until then I have a list of local shows (I like lists ) to keep me organised. I am happy to send to you with details, entries close dates ect. Just let me know. My first lot of numbers didnt come because my SASEnvelope went MIA?? So I picked them up with my catalogue on the day. My next lot didnt arrive till the day before. Maybe it was a big fat hint from the universe lol Bec
  14. Jess before march I had never even been to a dog show! I am still so very new and like bindii have only done three shows. What I have learnt has been passed on from the lovely people in the breed subforum so I am more than happy to share what little info I know :D Did the info I sent through make any sense?? Stacking and headfall are my issues. I tend to get in the ring and zone in on toby. It wasnt untilI looked at pics of us I realise others were watching us
  15. woohoo GO FLETCHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! way to go guys
  16. Yes the daggy tent stood out like a sore thumb but it did us well and allowed toby to be a puppy on the loose in it so he wasnt confined too much all day. It gave him the shelter we needed he has a massive K9 soft crate in it and a little grooming table my chair cooler bag ect. It was only the skin kids who uspset our little setup! My furkid was much better behaved yesterday! I think I remember seeing your little one curled up in your arms??
  17. red jacket black pants clueless.;) that was me and toby. He was inside out with the wind at times. I also needed to get a gazebo. The camping shops around here sell them too i think. We had the little pop up tent which did us both nicely as the kids came and went with hubby due to soccer and parties. Congrats on the first points we have one more baby puppy show till we are in with the big boys. Do make sure you say hi next time i only know one person and saw a few from show training. Bec
  18. thanks poocow we had small wins in that he wasnt freaked out in the in group line up this time and remained quite still. I will admit thought it was a long day for a baby and he was over it by the baby in group of the second show. But he behaved well around other dog was happy - but stil a brat on the table (we have now faced three judges and all three have had their faces licked although the last judge said not to correct yet as he was having a great old time on the table.) seriously he was still until he saw them approach and then it was bum wagging galore ;) Two more lessons learnt today - the wind is NOT my friend and his til wagging is great.....for everything except his part. My next one is going to be a dark solid colour like morgan with low grooming BTW how much grooming do you/will you need to do with Morgan? Bec
  19. Hi Deb, i noticed this too late! I was grooming last night for the two shows today. How did you go?? Today was our second and third go. 2x Baby puppy of breed (but we were the only baby puppy Hav entered ;) ) Was a nice day there today I have to say hoping you went well. I will be at most hillsborough shows as they are nice and handy.....me and Toby popped home for lunch in between as we only live 5 min away lol Bec PS how did everyone else go???
  20. So its betwen the clipper world med and a liberty terrier. The clipper world one has the grooming arm which I think may be of use with my cheeky boy. Does anyone else have this table?? Andisa does it wobble at all with the dog on it? Thankyou Bec
  21. In my cruising around product sites looking at tables trolleys and stain removers I have come accross the tear staing removal stuff. Would it work on Toby's staining near his mouth where his white is do you think? Also I notice he gets black/pink eye goobers (well thats what miss 6 calls them). can i use this stuff on his black? I feed him ACV now he has it in his water. The stains are old and light pinkish in colour. Also his staining on his legs from licking/chewing I think. I have stopped red meat as it seem to appear as the same time I started feeding lamb???? Can I use the tear stain remover on those as a daily way of reducing the stains?? I am using a soap then whitening shampoo but only for show baths as I dont want to dry him out. I may need a better conditioner. Just a thought? Also I have seen an abundance of "cheats" like cover up, spray white ect ect. Are these even allowed?? Things like biogroom stain cover with the little brush says repeated use will lighten stains but wouldnt it be cheating to use those in the ring??? Our standard says no excessive primping and grooming can only scissor feet to "tidy". But I am aware people use hairspray ect anyway! Thankyou in advance for putting up with all my newbie questions and for sharing your experience! Bec
  22. Great suggestions guys. I want sturdy. I have decided on both a table and trolley. Grooming first and when hubby is over that then trolley as I have a great crate that he loves which I can take to shows till I get the trolley then use that at shows. I dont mind carting heavy till then.....well hubby wont anyway lol. But sturdy is my main issue. He is a coated breed with a lifetime of grooming ahead and even if I dont show I plan to keep him coated (I really like grooming him lol). I want him happy safe and confident on the table from the get go. I also have skin kids who are prone to zoomies too so something that isnt going to bump or tip with a little bump here and there. The problem with the table I had was it was wobbly and he wasnt sure of it. The arms and frames look good too Lowenhart do you have a pic of you table? sounds good. Bec
  23. hi poodlefan Thankyou for helping with all my newbie questions Liberty is a name I have come accross so I will look at prices for those. What about one of the clipperworld ones? are they any good? Bec
  24. Okay so I have a post in the show forum re show trolleys but I thought I would post the grooming tables I thought I was being a bit clever as I found a fold out alluminium table. A non slip mat to fit. Great size portability ect only it was wobbly when Toby was on it. I want to build his confidence so it was no good. So I will have to spend a bit more. Bec
