  1. So are you braving spring fair poocow?? I was so tempted to head there just to shop Been to hillsborough today to train hoping it helps this time He is looking a bit more mature and has a bit more coat now so fingers crossed. How is Miss Morgies coat coming along Poocow and how are you going with the grooming?? Still very much have my L plates on here :D So we arent showing this weekend but the two after. Whats everyone else up to?? Bec
  2. Thanks aziah I think I will have to be there nice and early - will be the lost looking person. Carpark sounds like fun I have a forester not a real 4wd but hopefully enough to keep us out of too much trouble. have already ordered no rain........its not my friend with a white coated dog. Is it packed and squishy gazebo wise? How late does it run? do we share rings with other groups? It's usually us toys holding up things loads of question I know I normally only venture to hillsborough and once to morriset I so want to know how many are entered and who one more does tha pass cover hubby and the kids as they are part of the show crew too hubby sets up and packs down, kids spend the money and keep toby relaxed Yes to setting up gazebos, the rings are usually down the bottom of the hill and the show (as in rides etc.) are to the right of that (looking down the hill)... No, you will get a pass with your exhibit numbers Just a word of warning to those of you attending Bulahdelah...if it has been raining before the show then be aware that the grounds where us dog show people park can be VERY boggy (a couple of years ago before owning a 4WD I had to be towed out by the tractor ) It's usually hot and steamy so dont' forget all those things to keep humans/dogs cool
  3. forgot to add we have a copy of how to show now and have been studying up seriously though it IS good for basics and tips I really want to find a nice fine snake chain Bec
  4. fingers and toes crossed for good news Deb. Show weekend I'll be the idiot jogging with my fluffy to wear him out
  5. Hey Deb - if space is at a premium we can always share - I can scretly stuff min pins in my jumper will ask someone who went last year
  6. I am only doing sweepies for the toy show I think, cant wait to see what the entries are like Sammy you ready for the naughty in show play off Toby is!! Need to know what the go is for buladelah - can we set up our gazebos ect??
  7. shhhhhh if you keep telling everyone you're going to be there I will have to wait in line for miss morgan pats and cuddles ;) cross you fingers the superbrat behaves this time please please please let him walk a straight line
  8. Next time say hi neither toby or i bite....he will prob try and lick you tho Everyone I have met so far has been great, very friendly. furthest I have been is morriset. I will be at hillsborough though for the upcoming shows if you are poping in to watch breed judging. I think it helps to go along - go early since you got a breed early in the ring. Watch your breed getting judge from start to finsh. You'll get a feel for presentation of your breed. watch the order they call the dogs ect ect. Not such a big deal for me as there isnt many of us usually but for a more popular breed might be useful. Then swing by toys where all the cool people are :D and before jessm complains Leo is really a small squshy toy in a big tough body ;)
  9. Sometimes my face is a little less dumb now and alot more embarrased depending on how badly the superbrat behaved in the ring Though if youve seen me - you already know what he's like Did you say hi that day? I am still meeting loads of people so I apologise if I have forgotton when is your first show? I am normally found on the car park side of ring 1 about halfway along at hillsborough :p
  10. Just turn up. It is every 2nd week. I am the clueless one with the black and white hairy boy who is feral and doesnt look like a pretty show dog lol he does look a little better on show days though Make sure you say hi there is a few of us dolers from this thread there - The Ark Jessm - loads of newbies - and I cant speak for the others but I find it really helpful having the familiar faces there as well as great company The Ark (deb) shows a gorgeous aussie too Bec
  11. What you mean all the dogs were well behaved lol Tobys nuts!!
  12. Toby doesnt get a choice but hey at his size it doesnt matter lol - warm baths and blow dryers are the go here its the roll on the wet grass after that gets me undone !!!
  13. Well I was still deciding, will it be on? Its overcast but dry here so I am guessing yes for on :nahnah: I will there unless it rains Toby is filthy but I am NOT washing him till after training in the wet grass and mud
  14. hhhm I think we might do that one next year Anyone heading to show training tonight?? Bec
  15. but i like her naughty black pug makes me feel better when tobes is naughty lol put two pics of him in the hav thread from his bob win bec
  16. me too I just did my entries lol Are you going to do the toy and terrier show deb? I am and sweepies for that show I think - I think all us minors should enter sweepies in one hit - it will be the oddest lineup of dogs 6-12 months the sleek tiny min pin, the hairy hav, the cuddly field, huge tough leo and maybe even sammy's naughty black pug
  17. bring him to hillsborough in nov and intro him to Deb's (the Ark) Aussie viv. She comes up and puts her head on me and gives me that look and OMG you give her anything she is such a sweetheart!! My hubby would steal her in a min and if she didnt shed I would be tempted lol Funny I specifically got a non-shedder and left the dog show yesterday covered in leo, pug, and maybe min pin fur and a few viv ones too
  18. but miss morgie is sooooooooooooooooooo cute!! how can he not want one?? I have said hubby can choose no 2 on 2 conditions. He helps groom if its coated and he accepts down the track I want another Hav. He and miss 6 went looking for the bulldogs today and found one called pete. Apaprently he has a piece of miss 6's heart.......well till she meets the next cute puppy, OH has wanted a bulldog since he was a kid. bec
  19. well sammy if I learnt one thing this weekend it was never show a black one - those are TROUBLE
  20. Ooo will be fun to have a few feilds in the one place I'm sure! I always enjoy meeting new pointees... Yeah I know my breeder will have her team there and I know some others going too. I know Morgie won't get any points, but its good for her to run around with other dogs in the breed classes. What shows are you doing? We were thinking of doing Maitland & Kurri in November. you comming this way again for those poocow? I need a morgie fix Just working out what will be close -ish to newcastle comming up and ideas sammy?. Hubby would like to do MORE shows - I am striking while the iron is hot He has hit set up and pack down routine all worked out and apparently its better if I walk around talking cause I pack the car all wrong anyway Bec
  21. yay!!!!! Were in the naughty corner today lol Toby was a SUPERbrat. He was so naughty. I had strangers say he did so much better yesterday and was really "getting it" and today he was naughty naughty naughty ;) it was our fourth show in 3 days and he's only 7 months old. I am still so proud of him for yesterday though and lucky for him he does have so many redemming qualities - just enough that I still feel like I have taken the best dog home He is as happy as larry being a nutter with my son now. Why is there no naughtiest in show? we could have gone to junior handlers as a fine example of how NOT to show your dog :p still a great weekend Bec
  22. Gareth - I get what your saying re a dog changing till mature, and I am so new to all of this its not funny, but the judge is judging that dog to the breed standard as it is shown on that day isnt? So if a dog at 7 months is a fantastic example of the breed and shows and is presented well, and according to the rules they are entitled to challenge points shoudlnt they be awarded? Yes they may change in a month but hey they may not either - how can you non award on what the dog will potentially become and not what it presently IS. I still dont get it? I am showing what is still a rareish breed and I would be happy to be non awarded if waranted, and in our breed its happened, that way when (and if) my boy makes his title I can feel I have earned it. Bec edited to say I am not having a go - I find I learn alot from these kinds of topics
  23. thanks poocow and sammy The boy did good compared to what we have been doing!! Yesterday I was waiting to go into the ring and there was a minor and an older dog in the ring going for bob and the judge laughed and all the older dogs got it. I am not sure how they can be judged too young for challenge when the rules clearly state dogs over 6 months are elligible?????????
  24. ummm Deb (The Ark) forgot to add her little princess got BOB too Who knows deb they might complete their title at the same time lol!!
