  1. Me too Deb! I do that boy of mine no justice LOL Toby got 2x BOB he now has 12 of his last 25 points needed to title. I have your freshly laundered Jacket Kristy DO NOT LET ME FORGET to give it to you in the morning. Toby has managed to pee ALL over himself AGAIN today just for something new and we managed to hit rain in the PM show. Wind and rain + white coated showdog = disaster so am off to rewash my dog for tomorrows show. Kristy the blue pegged tarp at the end corner where we were last time is your spot if you want it! its the aussie corner of the show ring! LOL It was great to have an early finish to a double show thats for sure we were done by 4.30!! WOOHOO!! Cya in the morning bright and early Is there sweepies tomorrow? Bec
  2. speaking of supplies - dotty great rugs will be there this weekend if youre still after a floor mat for the gazebo. Just got the trolley cover ordered to save on postage
  3. You may find it really usefull to just start going to shows. If you have chosen a breed already then go and watch them whenever there is a show nearby. take a chair and shade and watch and watch. If you know someone that shows go and listen to what they are talking about. You'll get an idea of how people move their dogs, in what order they go in and how and who runs off for each class. You'll see the pattern of what the judge expects, what they do and make sure you wait for in group, class in group and general specials. Having a good idea of these things will all help you when it comes time. You'll be nervous the first time so any way to make things less foriegn is good. If you know your breed its also a good opportunity to pick up supplies. Bec
  4. he was watching me because he knew he wasnt allowed at the table LOL
  5. okay so this is what they did to my lil one. The same candle was used by the kids on their firsts too LOL PS miss morgie and kite are both about to turn one with mr leo not far behind so expect you all to post pics too
  6. LOL LEO is a gorgeous boy! Toby just ate his birthday cake....apparently the cake wasnt as good as the lemon cream cheese frosting. The kids did put a candle on it and hats and sing happy bday to him tho hillarious!!
  7. that you are oh and I know toby is safe....you love him too much!!
  8. this is nothing you should drop by the gazebos when they're all in a row the arguments are very entertaining!! LOL
  9. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you cant get purple thats my colour its okay dotty well steal it and dye it
  10. OMG I cant believe that is the thanks you get in return. I know what it would mean to me to get a lesson in show grooming my boy from start to finish - especially feet and headfall. I would be forever gratefull and over the moon that someone had taken the time - for both of you to have had that is AWFUL Its a shame that they spoil it for others. Honestly theres only so much you can get out of a book or off the net. My boy is a fantastic example of how reading how to trim feet can get lost in translation But I try LOL I have had many a ring side conversation that started with people I dont know coming up to me and saying "can I give you some advice.." and "dont be offended but you might want to try...." all have been HUGELY appreciated and while I havent taken every piece of advice I have been grateful that others have taken the time to try and help. I really just dont get it - why people would be offended when others try to help I am a novice, I look like a novice, act like a novice and only time and experience will change that!
  11. If I put one down for you ash then if kristy is happy to sit with the newbies in toys she can have the spot for sunday too??
  12. we'll be there all three woohoo better remember to put gazebo up this week! Who am i tarping for? Deb ? Ash? Le Brat is 1 tomorrow!! - no signs of maturity yet
  13. Thanks Kristy but you dont like the skirt over the head look ?? LOL I still need to learn ring presentation product knowledge headfall and trimming feet. DONT look at his feet on the weekend!
  14. that is an awesome way to retire!! well done!
  15. Nope BMP - not OT I am interested in this stuff and well - dont know anyone to ask. I appreciate that we have this forum and can ask these questions I hope to have le brat in the ring for a long time yet - I guess being my only show dog at present I just cant imagine even being at a show without him. LOL Out of curiosity showdog - what breed do you have? I take ages to groom a toy coated dog and still cant do it well I enjoy grooming him though - its my therapy!
  16. I think I have been lucky as a newbie - I have had a lovely lady in my breed help me. And while she has been my most consistent "competition" she has also been great at congratulating me if I happened to win - first challenge my boy got she turned and congratulated me in the ring - she also made sure I got a piccy with our first class in group and organised it with the judge and stayed to make sure I got to the class in show lineup! She was and is an enourmous help in the ring! And yes trained me well - the days we have had bad days in the ring- her advice is strong in my head - one day a rooster next day a feather duster! She teaches me something new everytime we see her and is always great for a chat. On top of that I was lucky to start at the same time as an awesome group of newbies. These guys rock and make me feel a little less useless on days when I clearly am. We all have a laugh but we also cheer for each other! So my experience over the last 8 months has been really really positive! We dont get it right, both the dog and myself are very much still wearing L plates but we enjoy it. I have needed thick skin yet but I feel prepared for when the time comes and realistic in my expectations And I agree DOL, the net, and show classes all make a huge difference. Especially for newbs like me whose breeders are in another state! Bec
  17. holy crap no leave me in my inocent little bubble please. I thought we showed dogs cause we loved em I'd like to think that was just rumour or an urban myth
  18. OMG glad to hear the dog is safe. How scary for you and your girl Putting a dog in danger, other dogs and people is THE LOWEST act. I cant believe people do this stuff, I hear about it as a newbie, but never thought it real I hope karma gets em too! Bec
  19. a while, alot of the pugs are Quom pugs...Did you see Harry? Mum might have to grab Clouseau a new one before the pug specialty in April! Not sure about kite most people show the pointees in plain slip leads...have been considering a new one but yeah just not sure! Rebel already has one....might need a new puggy one towards the end of the year maybe two oh dear didnt see harry just jess and splash two puggy ones! Oh dear indeed........ you gonna need that trolley then!
  20. LOL poor kite getting crazy bug pug eyes Got the brat a new lead ordered for his birthday If he doesnt love it hes soooooooooooooooo in trouble - you might just get a happy hav to add to your collection ash! If your gonna look at their stuff go for the facebook site loads of puggles ash.......perfect for a baby in show.............loads of colours to suit miss kiterbum too LOL
  21. LH I have solid walls, mesh walls and a silvershade wall. We got the wall kits incredibly cheap - we put mesh walls on our gazebo for $30 all up brand new but the solid walls are great during yukky weather I show with my hubby and kids so having that 3x3 space for them is priceless! As for the trolley I have a two berth with a removable divider so at the moment my Havanese has a large space to himself. We hope to be adding a second hav soon so at least we will be set up for that. The trolley without the divider fits our pup and my 4 yrs old together comfortably bec
  22. sammy thats just not nice LOL got the floor mat at medowie and it makes SUCH a difference. the kids were spread out on it and could go barefoot plus it didnt bunch up under foot or under trolley. Even rich conceeded it made a difference. we'll use it camping too!
  23. like sammy we are collecting our gear still but gazebo with walls for foul weather comfy chair trolley or crate grooming box nice lead arm band for number good company our new stuff we cant live without LOL silvershade floor mat REALLY confy chairs
  24. I am chosing something now for the brat - poor ros I think I am doing her head in. She has such beautiful stuff!! so many choices come on guys if I am going to poor you may as well be poor with me!
  25. here I am LOL rich keeps his profile up to date and does his pointscore. You need to do his pointscore with his BOB's class in groups ect! if you have any troubles PM as rich is home and I will be online bling lead and grooming product shopping :D Leo is super cool - and seems very at home in the toy ring! Last time at hillsborough it was the terriers going nuts we were on the terrier side of the toy ring. Its been good for toby being around leo, kite, peach, vivi and aurea - he was alot less phased last time in sweepies being in with big dogs which I guess is no different to being in an BIS or Class in show line up - dogs of all shapes and sizes
