Thank you Finnesse for posting this up today. This is our beautiful 16 month old puppy. He's super friendly and an adorable, playful puppy. We suspect he's either lost in the forest or has been picked up by a stranger as there hasn't been a single sighting since approximately 1.5hrs after he escaped the property on Sunday 15th Sept. Please, if you can share i'd really appreciate it

Awww Pretty. And thats the extent of my knowledge of the Wei. I only recently discovered the LH version, but i was struck by the SH as a child at shows, though plenty intimidated at the time by the size. I was also gonna suggest the Clumber as something a bit different but then i saw the weight. I've mostly stumbled across these dogs researching for and with other people. It's always interesting to hear other peoples perspectives though. We went from a Great Dane to Tibetan Spaniels growing up. I'm familiar with Toys but the rest of the breeds are new and i'm happy to have my perceptions dispelled. I was just watching these on Dogs101 on Animal Planet, they're apparently 'hardwired to obey'. Sounds like the perfect present to yourself after training The Evil Beagle.

Thats all i saw in this post Maybe your Lappie will be the 'pot plant' or couch potato to keep you company and the other breed you decide on can do all the hard work. Our lappies do the same. First time they saw OH on the floor doing push-ups they rushed up to plant kisses on his face. They figured floor time was play time. i was in hysterics. Ok, i finally got to the end and no-one else has said it so i'll bring it up. Dutch Shepherd. Still uncommon here (AFAIK) but recognised by the ANKC last year. http://www.ankc.org.au/Breed_Details.aspx?bid=233 I believe theres a few breeders here already. Theres a breeder/owner in QLD somewhere near you as luck would have it. http://www.ck9sas.com.au/our-dogs.html Theyre about 30kgs and the size of the Female GSD (55-63cm). From the small amount of research i've done. "The Dutch Shepherds are among the most competent of all shepherd dogs at such tasks as agility, catch, obedience competitions, guard work, herding, field trailing and companionship. " http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/dutchshepherd.htm Who knows how they'll be going in Oz by the time you're ready to get one. I actually thought there'd be a whole lot more breeds being mentioned here. but i guess the thread is only a day old. for 12 pages. You've really started something Huski.

thanks Little Poppet, they certainly keep things interesting around here. Theyre both recovering from the "trauma" of being clean. It must be so disheartening to have all those weeks of dirt theyve been accumulating washed out of their coats. i always get the most reproachful looks at bath time. +1. I love that shot.

Welcome to the thread & DOL UpSpitzCreek - if you come and hang out in the spitz thread you will meet lots of Lappie owners (and a few breeders!) in there - we love meeting new Lappie breed fans, and if you want to see pics we do try to make sure that there are plenty that go up! (can't let the Sammi people out-do us!) LOL Welcome UpSpitzCreek (awesome name choice). You've come to the right place to see and hear about the escapades of Lappies. Here and the Spitz thread should provide your daily fill. (Theres also heaps of o'seas Lappie acty on Facebook if you're on there) I actually shortlisted a Havanese before i came across (and fell Hook, Line and Sinker for) Lappies. Hopefully you'll meet and greet a bunch of Lappies at Sydney Royal next year.... LM: I'd think we might've been outdoing the Sammie people for a while now. In fact, at times i feel we've hijacked the Spitz thread altogether FranCQ : i think i'm the same.

I thought Lappies were like Pringles?? Or as in gretels case; Lappies are like Viennetta...

You should have introduced yourself!!! LOL I tell you what, contact Melissa and ask to go and see her puppies. That should help convince you.....LOL I have another idea - you could get a cream lappie and combine the best of both worlds!LOL Yeah. No pressure ;) but you could get a cream-flavoured Lappie like this....
