I wouldn't The less 'bits' which may find their way into a dog's belly, the better!! I didnt think of that! Thanks

I think Bailey just LOVES to destroy things, lately she has been destroying anything she can get her paws on even toys she has had from birth she has suddenly torn them up. She ate an outdoor chair the other day (the fabric bit you sit on)! Also she used to never bury things, now she buries everything (bones, pigs ears, chicken wings) She is a monster - but I love her!

Most chemists stock it, it in a red tube

I have taken everything out of her kennel so she has slept on the bare wood for the past 4 days - but I feel mean! I guess she sleeps on the concrete most of the day so she will be fine. I will try her again with just carpet in a week or so and see how she goes otherwise she can have a bare kennel!!

Perfect timing for this thread, Bailey is a monster at the moment and this wet weather isnt helping. She has been pulling her blankets & carpet out of her kennel and dragging them in to the rain so I have had to bin them all. I tried just carpet but she loves to pull that out and unravel it! Maybe I can masking tape the edges and staple gun it down.

How Many Times A Day Should A Dog "go" No. 2's?
BaileyWei replied to LizT's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My girl goes approx 3 times a day and it fed twice a day. -
Where so you get the sticky bandages?
-
Bailey and I when she was about 3 months (I love the forehead wrinkles)

Is the crate on a blanket? Maybe the floors cold under the crate. Bailey grew out of it at about 5 months but she sleeps outside in her kennel so now she just plays with toys in the yard if she wakes early.
-
Maybe you can give them some interesting chew toys in the evening to keep them awake until later in the night. Bailey used to wake up when she was 3-4 months at 5am if she was cold, do they have lots of snuggly blankets?

What type of products are in the kits you buy, maybe I can make up my own.

Thanks SBT123 I will send them an email and see what they have avaliable

Bailey got bitten on the ear yesterday by a GSD and when I got home I realised I dont have a First Aid Kit with suitable items. What are the essentials for a (pet) first aid kit? :D

I got my order today in the mail, I cant wait to get home and give Bailey some to try. I am thinking I should have bought her the Venison Ears not Sheep Ears as she is a Weimaraner so will probably finish the Sheep ears quickly. In any case she will enjoy chewing on them!

My puppy eats rocks, dirt, sticks, grass, pretty much anything sje can get in her mouth. Dont worry your pup will grow out of it she is just deciding what tastes good
-
They do take ages but I think it depends on your dog. My puppy could take weeks to finish one. But my older boy is really protective of his and he will just break off 3cm long pieces and swallow them whole just to eat it quickly. This is where we got into trouble this week. If your dog eats it slowly then they can last ages! weeks and weeks. Thanks so much for the tips everyone. I am going to have a look at those websites puddleduck and leo01. My venison and sheeps ears have all come from petbarn but the venison ears are $20 or $30 for 10 so I hope they will be a bit cheaper online. I find the sheeps ears go pretty quick though, 10-20 minutes tops. Sheep ears are cheap on there about $16 for 50 ears

I ordered 50 Sheeps Ears, 1KG Beef Tendons & 1KG Salmon & Beef treats - Bailey is going to be one happy girl. Do the Beef Tendons really take ages for them to eat as that is what I want, Bailey east a whole pigs ear in about 8 min. I want something she will chew on for an hour+

MissLotus, where are you practicing your drops. I do it with Bailey on her Snooza Fouton or on her blanket inside as she wont drop on the cold concrete or damp grass (without a treat).
-
Bailey has only just mastered Drop without a treat and she is 6.5 months so it might take some time. Just be persistent and if she drops without you asking say "Drop" and then giver her a big pat and make a fuss over her so she links the word with the motion. Good luck

Thanks Leo01

PuddleDuck do you have a link? I searched that seller and nothing came up.

Bailey was like this also for no apparent reason at all, just make it as fast & uneventful as possible. Your pup will get used to it eventually.

Has Your Dog Ever Choked On A Raw Bone?
BaileyWei replied to puppymum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have never had a problem with bones, my current girl occasionally rips a big flap of meat off a bone and swallows it without chewing and then brings it back up, chews it and re-swallows it. -
I am pleased to say I put her harness on this morning no problems, I took her in to the kitchen, gave her the sit command then a treat and quickly clipped her in. Viola!!! I think I just need to do it quickly and without fuss - I will persist and keep you updated

We were getting a boy from the breeder but our pup had a heart murmer and had to be PTS at 7 weeks, the only option was to take a girl or wait up to 12 months for the next litter. We had already bought everything in anticipation for his/her arrival hence the blue harness.
