  1. I have two Siberians that as a breed love to dig, my solution to the problem of them digging around the fence was to lay weldmesh that was the length of their body on the ground up against the fence. When they tried to move it they would be standing on the weldmesh and were unable to dig. After a while the grass grew over it and you can mow it without having to move the weldmesh.

  7. Years ago I watched a brace class, there was a man with two pugs both male and all they wanted to do was have a go at each other so he showed them on two seperate leads on either side of him to keep the apart from each other, not quite what one would call brace. But from memory I think he was placed in the final 3 out of about 10 entries

  10. when I come home from night shift my sibs are sooooo excited to see me they bounce and say goodmorning in their own special way then after a shower and I go to bed they snuggle up next to me sound asleep. I love it how they go from excited to the best hot water bottles in minutes. and when Nanny (my mum) comes my boy has learnt to open the door for her all by himself. When friends come around and sit on thier lounge they just sit in front of the visitors and give them that look, you know the one "Your in my seat and for you punishment you must scratch me"

  14. What a crap generalisation to make! And what a way to treat someone who you're supposed to be helping! Unbelievable. Guess I should just give up on trialling Jedi - what was I thinking?! I know, it really annoyed me at the time too. I had the same with my Siberians and that trainers comments towards them was "They are only programed for one thing - running". I soon found someone better to train with
  15. Ohhh.....I could give them as treat's even I give my sib's dried cranberries while I'm training them at the end of class or I cook them in a mint and cranberry biscuit.
  16. My pug did his c/l by jumping onto my bed. He got over it without surgery. I cant remember what the vet gave me but I know it was not what you used. It started with a "M". He was given it again later in his life for a swallen foot. sorry this is not much help. Kerry
  17. before I started reno's in my bathroom I decided to add a bath and instead of taps I put in a vegie mixer (small shower head usually used in the kitchen with about 1mtr retractable hose) and a shower head with 2mtr hose.
  18. Years ago when we had 14 siberians, the local ambo drivers (who were friends of ours) would drive past and turn the siren on at one end of the property and turn them off at the other end, stop the ambulance to listen to the howling chorus that would follow.
  19. empty juice bottles with a bit of juice left in the bottom, will keep mine busy for ages trying to get the juice out. I'm waiting for the day when they relise if they just tip it up a little more the juice will pour out. I dont leave much juice in the bottom only about a tablespoon or two.
  20. We had an obedience class today which clashed with the delta class at the same ground only to over hear a delta trainer say when asked by one of their students what we were doing and her comment was "they have nothing to with us, they are doing it wrong, they are using check chains which hurt the dogs"
  21. yes that thought crossed my mind as well.
  22. While I was in Shepparton in Vic a couple of months ago I pulled out of Harvey Norman onto a very busy Melbourne Road I stopped in the middle of the two lanes waiting for the traffic cleared when I saw a man going for a jog with two mini dachies running off lead behind him then I couldn't believe it he crossed the road, not picking up the little ones or waiting till the traffic cleared. One of the little guys got nicked by a car and ran under mine. I got out and to find the man trying to get him from under my car but he refused to come to him. I got on the ground with a blanket from the back of my car to try to get him and he came straight to me. I said to the guy why didn't you pick them up or have them on a lead and his response was "they are use to the traffic and usually keep up with me" I offered to drive him to the vets which was a couple of blocks away. He refused saying it's only a nick his leg doesn't look like it's broken. I felt like pushing him out into the traffic to see how much it would hurt. I told him that I could call the vets to have someone ready to see the little fella, he finally agreed to go to the vets. Honestly some people should not have dogs. I left him my phone number and asked if he could call me and let me know if the boy was ok but I never heard anything more.
