  1. Oh I absolutely know it is a scam. There is no two ways about this and it is the naive people like my sister that fall for it!! Thankfully she listened to my stress and went for her own clarification to confirm that she infact couldn't re-coup her money if it didn't exist! She just called to tell me she wont be doing it. PHEW!!! In the process I have convinced her to go through a registered breeder if her and her partner choose to end up getting a dog.
  2. I know she does have to learn the hard way and unfortunately all her animals have learnt the hard way of coming into her life.. I told her after many times telling her I personally wouldn't touch these people with a 10ft pole, that if she is comfortable with it then by all means deposit your money and lets just hope a gorgeous Yorkie shows up at the door. We know thats not going to happen but she refuses to listen. She has 'Huntingtons Disease' which she is progressing quite fast at now so her mind isn't exactly sane so people and things like this take advantage cause that guard she once had up is falling down. It's terribly sad to watch.
  3. My sister is wanting to get a Yorkie and as much as I love my sister she just cannot care for animals and she feels as though they are disposable! Breaks my heart and I almost went for her throat when I heard what she did with her last dog except our older sister got in between us to stop me. Unfortunately if I tell her she doesn't have the ability or heart to care for animals I will lose my sister! She is falling for all of these stupid scams we hear about and I have given her the Dogzonline website to look for a dog and told her to be patient and spend the money, at least you know you wont be scammed. Apparently the pup is in Perth and apparently waiting at the 'shipping companies depot' ready to rock and roll over her pending her payment. here's the thing the dog PLUS all it's vet work and door to door shipping is $350. pfft yeah right, they called her this morning on an international number and could barely speak english YET she told me she does believe him. She hasn't spoken to this guy over the phone because he is at work and has his mobile switched off. Anyways have a look at the shipping companies website http://animaldeliveryservices.webs.com/ pretty good one hey! I'd definitely trust them with my dog. Nice attempt at a free website. It gets better. She has to deposit the money into a Greater Western bank in order for it to go, she will be given a pin and thank you ma'm your dog will be there tomorrow! I've tried to help her and told her she is taking a stupid risk but she still feels the need to investigate it. It honestly doesn't matter what you say to her, she will not listen. Best part about this one, the dog transport company is based in Camroon. Bet a lot of you have heard that on before!!!
  4. Fleas love sandy soil and they love the warmer months, it's starting to get warm again so here they come marching. I have a flea problem at home and I go to bunnings and buy and outdoor flea and insect powder that you mix with water and spray near all entrance's of the house. I spray the path and walls of the back, ground/grass surrounding the back of the house, inside his kennel, his tramp bed and I was all of his bedding in boiling water. On the same day I do this I send him to the groomers to be clipped, washed and fea treated where she also gives him a capstar tablet. A couple of days later I put frontline on him. I also vacuum the house the same day and flea bomb, wash my bedding in hot water and so on. Make sure they empty their vacuum afterwards in the bin outside as the fleas can still jump out afterwards. roughly 2 weeks later I will do a follow up spray outside and continue washing Oscar fortnightly. They NEED to stay on top of it especially if they have sandy soil. In the colder months fleas don't die they go underground and once it starts warming up they come out to play. I was going to put lime all over my back lawn as it isn't harmful for dogs but thought I'd see how what I do above went and it is succesful. I have a bad owner of a neighbour to their dog who has since been killed by a car since last flea season, but I used to GIVE them frontline and ask them to bomb their house and yard so I didn't keep having the problem. Flea's HATE the smell of lavender and will try and get away from it so tell them to have lavender burning or around the house. Also if they have floor boards the eggs get inbetween the boards and the vibration from walking on them make them hatch quicker so make sure they vacuum AT LEAST every second day. On another note, it's probably not wise to wash your dog twice a week. It strips the natural oils of your dogs coat and is actually worse for them. This was the advice given by my Pop MANY year ago which has been supported by my vet and groomer.
  5. My little monster loves a grape or two but once I actually read that they are poison to the dogs it wasn't worth the risk. I wont let him touch them again because it could be one bad grape or one too many that could get him! Not worth it.
  6. Agreed, Definitely needs photos of Dimples and Andrew!! How beautiful and how lovely that you are able to help him by simply offering him a dog! Bless. 20 years old serving for our Country, been engaged with the pooch and she takes off. So terribly sad and all he needs to put a smile on his face is a Lab!
  7. I put Kong as I recently got one of these for Oscar and he just LOVES it!! However I do buy these little fluffly colourful toy that has about four ends to it with squeaky things in each end that he just loves throwing in the air and playing with! I often come home to snow in the backyard but hey for only $5 it's no big deal and he loves playing with it just as much when it is flat.
  8. Mercedes - isn't he just divine!! I got an email this morning saying it sounds like a good home and that they'd find out what is going on with him and haven't heard back. If I haven't heard back by tomorrow I shall call. Stonebridge - of course it is fine you post your photos on here :p .. Abbey is gorgeous!! It must be nice to see photos like this to know she is ok but sad at the same time for them not being with you!! Oscar is my heart and soul and I become very attached to all my animals I have had and very protective, I feel so sorry for my future children.. Thankfully our little mates want that in an owner!! Hehe.. At the moment there is no one advertising adult or older pup bullmastiffs and we'd prefer to get a rescue dog but it has to have that squishy face!! I LOVE squishy faces...
  9. Mercedes - It's Boof the Bullmastiff x Dane. Stunning!! He is with Trisvens rescue group. Do you know the groups down there? Narcissa - I know it's a bummer but hopefully we get one just like her.. Fingers crossed Boof is still available.. Haha not sure about the name Daisy or Dessi but if it comes with a similar name and it suits then I suppose we'll keep it. Haha
  10. Caz - Thank you, we have found these two dogs to be gorgeous but never thought of having one for ourselves.. I was trolling petrescue last night and found a Daisy dog but a boy in Albury.. Stunning, so have emailed and hope to hear back soon. Stonebridge - It must be heartbreaking letting go of your munchkins. We are looking to breeders for older dogs but also in rescue.
  11. Caz - I've asked that she let us know what the out come is for when he comes home and that we may have already offered another dog our home. I'm thinking he probably wont part with her purely from prides perspective instead of thinking of Daisy.. If they do and we have another dog by then, I'll give them contact numbers. We are nowing searching for what we want.. I haven't heard back from the Vizsla breeder so we are looking into older Bullmastiffs and Dogues. We'll find our munchkin in time. Casowner - haha I think we would have kept her name Daisy! We are very disappointed and it's so easy to get your heart set on them but it's a sure sign that the right one hasn't come up for us!!
  12. ems. If we don't find another Daisy with some help I have just received and we hear nothing back about the Vizsla then yes we will probably get a pure Bullmastiff pup.. Daisy has brought the breed to our attention and we've been reading and have fallen in love.. We both want a BIG GIANT dog so with patience the right one will come up.. I know you can down size your photos in paint.. I'm not overly computer savy either. Just enough to get me by.. ;)
  13. haha sorry Crazy Daisy!! Unfortunately this particular crazy Daisy is just not to be!
  14. I thought the worlds smallest dog was held by a yorkie?? was a couple of years back anyways.
  15. Thank you Mita. I have just sent her a text message as she doesn't like phone chatting! See how that goes. If not we will go back to what we were going to get the start of next year which was a Vizsla or a Wei. I've just emailed about a Viszla so see how that goes!! Daisy is just so delicious though.
  16. Yes we are!! I actually hadn't thought of that as she has had zero vet work done and she actually offered going halves in all of that!! I might shoot her a text. Thank you Mita.
  17. SO Disappointing!! Her partner wont make a decision or let her go at all until he gets back from overseas which is mid Sept. This poor girl has four dogs at home alone with her, a broken leg and is in a wheel chair before he left for overseas a month ago they went to take her to 'Sydney dogs and cats home" but because they were going to charge them $300 to surrender her they didn't! What changed now!! I can offer the dog a fantastic home and not charge them a cent and they can come visit whenever they wish!! GRRRR.. It's easier to just dump an animal and not know what happens to them then to think they may actually be happier at another persons home!! ANYWAYS.. We are on the hunt for a Daisy dog!! Can anyone replicate Daisy?? I'm happy to call him/her Daisy!! If anyone hears of anything please let us know!
  18. Dark side!! I thought the Daisy side was all bright, sunny and HAPPY!! I might not be on any side at this stage. She isn't answering her phone or replying to my text so I am thinking that her partner has said no go! I tried not to get my heart set on her but it was a little hard. She is gorgeous to look at, sweetheart of a personality and it was going to be a fun challenge training her. Fingers crossed still though, the day isn't out yet! Today I am going to 'try' and be optimistic about it! If it doesn't work out with this munchkin then I guess we'll try and find another Daisy.
  19. Aww thank you Lesley... I truly hope we get her! She looks just devine and despite the obvious lack of training I think all the bones are sweet!! Hehe everyone loves the name Daisy...
  20. Mita - WOW you have a gremlin from Sweden!! Daisy is starting to grow on me but I think thats only because I have said it a thousand times.. She looks quite precious doesn't she.. I'll find out in the morning if we are getting her! I was going to go buy puppy food and all the tid bits this morning. LUCKY I saw what he wrote.. Plenty of photos to come though if we get her.. Ems - can't wait to see the photos.. I too saw the blue heeler in the background but it's not my dog. I have a little Cavalier which you can see in my little photo. That dog is one of the current owners 4 dogs.. Daisy totally wants to live at our house.. Who wouldn't !?!
  21. Ems How old is your Daisy??? You can attach photo's when you reply if you look just below in the attachments section on the right hand side it says Browse and then an upload.. I would LOVE to see photos of her??
  22. Sorry Sunnyflower you can't fight fate :D :D What are you trying to do... RUB IT IN!!! You're just Bias Casowner cause you have a Daisy too!!!
  23. Nooooooooooooooooo Don't say that!!! Checkers... CHECKERS!!!
