We apologise for the basic web design and we are working a new improved website with much better pics and more info. We inherited this with the business. Our crates are very heavy duty and made from thicker wire and welded better than some of the cheaper imports from Asia. The floor is made from 0.9mm zinc alum and is very resistant to bending etc. Some of the cheaper versions come with plastic trays. Also the zinc coating is able to be re dipped down the track easily where a lot of the cheaper models are powder coated usually black or Hammerspot and once chipped and rusted needs to be sandblasted before re surfacing. We have re conditioned C Crates that were over 10 years old and they come up like brand new. They are very heavy and this does not suit everyone. A C Crate will last many years longer than one of the cheaper imported versions as they are handmade for strength and durability where the imports are mass produced cheaply. I have an AP8 I use in my van and I got it second hand before we even bought the business and I believe it was years old then. We re dipped it and it still looks like new. As they are handmade and constructed from heavy duty materials they are expensive. I hope this helps. Kel (C Crates)

Edited. I have spoken to Tracie and we have resolved this issue.

No we bought the crate and pen side of C Crates in Jan. The previous owners now only do trailers and are called C Trailers. Oooh does this mean we will get decent quality trolleys again from C Crates??? Well we are doing our best to improve products across the range both in materials and design and also will be offering new products. Updated website coming soon. K

I have just purchased a brand new custom built trailer from a manufacturer in NSW. I received an inferior product which is not what I ordered, the workmanship is sub standard to say the least and the design makes it dangerous to put livestock in. I am wondering if anyone else has had issues with these people. If you have you will know who I am talking about. I would love to hear from anyone via PM if they have experienced similar issues. I know there are a number of you out there. Thanks for you time.

Hi I am the rep for central NSW/ACT. I don`t only supply people who will buy a whole pallet. I do offer breeders and people in more remote areas if they want to get a pallet with their friends they can get substantial discounts. I deliver to all of Sydney and surrounding areas and can arrange deliveries from Newcaste to Canberra or collection from shows as advertised on my website or from my place in Picton NSW. I answer all my emails so if you haven`t gotten a reply there has been a problem. Please send me a PM and I will make sure you get your sample and anser any questions you may have. Kel.

Mmmm, the supplier Ive found charges $90. That's a big difference over time. Just a note to this... I am the Supplier for this area and I charge $85 for 20kg of adult and $95 for 20kg of puppy. I charge a $5 delivery fee in Sydney Metro and $10 delivery in country areas. I am sure if someone has paid $75 it would have been in VIC. I have freight charges to get it to NSW and still make a very small margin. The food is still much cheaper than comparable holisitc products AND I deliver to the customer`s door. If I were to use a courier this would cost MUCH more to get to people as mentioned in other posts. Unfortunatley to be able to provide this service I need to make some money from it! These are very reasonable price for a product of this quality which delivers such good results. For anyone who lives in the Southern Highlands/Illawarra etc you can also collect from my house if you would prefer to avoid delivery costs.

If anyone is interested in a sample this weekend I will be at the Spring Fair at Erskine Park all 3 days. If you are going to be there come and say hi! I`ll be near the Terrier and Gundog rings and I`ll be showing Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and Smooth Fox Terriers so not too hard to find. 04 58230777. Kel.

I didn't even get a reply to my email with just an enquiry from the NSW supplier. Not good business HI I am the distributor for central NSW. Newcastle - Sydney - Canberra + Wollongong and Blue Mountains. I anwser each and every email I receive promptly or forward the enquiry onto the distributor in that area. If you haven`t received a reply there has obviously been an unintentional error somewhere. Sometimes emails do go missing and I followed up an enquiry last week to find a sample has gone missing via AU Post. Please if anyone emails me and doesn`t hear back within 24 hours please feel free to call me at home on 02 46771454 or on my mobile 04 58230777. I appologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you, it was certinally not intentional that I haven`t gotten back to you. Kel.

I posted this in the breeder forum as people with alot of valuable dogs to protect will most likely know about this. I have seen the solar snake repellers for sale and wonder if they do in fact work or would I be better to fence the entire dog compound with super small mesh??? I am from NZ where we don`t have snakes so have never had this problem. The last thing I want is to lose any of my dogs to a snake so any advice would be much appreciated.

Australian Made Purina Pro Plan Performance

The ingredients should be on their website. -
Hi just wondering other breeders views and experience on cleft paletes. I have never had one in any of my litters to date but a friend recently has 4 in a litter of 9. The litter was very closely bred. I always thought it was a defect due to breeding too close but others say it is casued by a lack of something in pregnancy. Would you breed from a pup out of litter where there were cleft paletes or would these pups be more prone to produce it. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi. My vet vaccinates at 6, 10 and 14 weeks. I have been hearing of many different protocols and will be investigating all options as to which provides the best cover. The family have taken my offer of another pup but their vet says they can`t have a pup before 2 weeks after the third shot for 5 years on their property so I have also offered to run the pup on to 16 weeks for them to be safe.
-
Apparrently Pet Plan don`t cover for illness in the first 21 days of the policy. They haven`t said but the vet bill must be huge. I have told them I don`t accept any liability as the pup and pups she lived with are all fine and all my other dogs/pups and the pups of the friend who drove her up there have not gotten sick. My vet advised me not to refund however I really feel for the family, they didn`t let the pup get sick on purpose and they have a little boy with leukaemia so I have offered them a replacment pup in about 6 months when I have yellows next and provided they have their place disinfected and cleared by their vet. Just as a sign of good faith. It is so sad. The pup was perfect and I so very nearly kept her myself. I can`t help but think if I hadn`t sent her she`d still be alive. I have been in dogs for 7 years approx and this is the first pup I know of that has died after going to their new home. I knew the day would come when someone woud ring and say their dog had died for whatever reason but I didn`t expect this. Poor little one. It is going to take me a while to get over this. I can`t stop thinking about it.
-
Yes I was thinking that. The pup was sold with Pet Plan insurance so I am not sure if it will be covered. I just found out half an hour ago that the pup died. I am devastated. I almost kept her as she was so nice but was already keeping one. I feel terrible that I have sent her away to her death. RIP little one.

No it was not paid transport, a breeder friend transported the pup. I have heard alot of people are starting to do first vaccinatons at 8 weeks. I will look into it.

Hi, a question about other breeders policy re Parvo. I sold a 9 week old Lab pup which was transported by car to the family in Northern NSW. The pup was vaccinated at 6 weeks and had been on my property with the pups I am keeping. I dropped off the pup to head north on the Friday and they collected her on the saturday. On Wednesday arvo (last week) I got a call to say the pup looked sick so had been taken to the vet and a stool sample confirmed Parvo. It was implied the pup must have had it when I sold it. I have her sister, and two other pups under 12 weeks old here who had been in contact with the pup in question and at the time two litters on the ground under 3 weeks old. My vet assures me the Parvo has not come from here as in his opinion I would have other sick puppies due to the high infection rate. I disinfect my kennels daily after cleaning with a pressure cleaner and spray the puppy pens with disinfectant AND Virkon as I am paranoid about Parvo. I had Corona virus once but never Parvo and I don`t want it! The info on the net and from my vet is that symptoms can show 4 as little as 4 days from infection. My question is what is the policy of other breeders re Parvo after a pup has left their care. I am not in any way trying to get out of a refund if it is due but I don`t believe the pup had Parvo when it was sold. It is terribly upsetting to think of one of my babies lying in hospital so sick

Things My Breeder Should Have Told Me About Vets !
Wuppywoman replied to Fordogs's topic in Breeders Community
I always tell my puppy people to be wary of vets and to contact me first if there is any problems. I had NEVER had a complaint about a pup of mine until last year when I got an email saying that these people`s 6 month old yellow Lab had OCD in one elbow. I emailed back asking for a vet report asap as all my dogs are guaranteed against any genetic faults. I also asked for the xrays to send them to Dr Wyburn for his opinion AT MY EXPENSE. He confirmed OCD in one elbow ONLY. The x rays were returned and despite me asking them to consider all options before operating on a young dog they went ahead with an op on that elbow at a cost of $2,500. The vet who did it offered FREE xrays for the other elbow and surprise - found OCD in the other elbow and recommended they operate a few days later!!! Sooo... the puppy people paid $5,000 for the two ops and by this time were pretty pissed to say the least. They told me their vet told them that it must be hereditary as it doesn`t matter what food you feed or what exercise the dog gets, if they are going to get elbow problems they will get them and that basically enviroment is not a factor. I repeatedly asked for a vet certificate stating the finding as I am not prepared to refund on he said, she said. They got very angry and told me it was all my fault and I should never breed from that bitch again who has had 39 pups all up with no issues at all! They emailed me day and night with nasty emails and I repeated told them I am more than happy to refund you as per my guarantee, I just need a vet certificate (which I thinks is perfectly reasonable) but they refused to provide me with one. All they would send me was the discharge notice from the vet which stated the dogs name, date of birth and weight. He was 6 months old and 32.5 kg!!!! ARRRGH I am sure he did have an elbow issue in one elbow as he was limping but if there was an issue with the second elbow Dr Wyburn would have picked it up. This vet saw these people comming! The vet apparrently also told them the pup was not overweight and this was a normal weight for a Lab pup of this age. I spend a huge amount of time making sure puppy buyers are aware of the dangers of letting a Lab become overweight and overexercising in the first 12 months. I have learnt in my relatively few years of dog breeding you can do everything right from your side but if the people listen or not is their choice unfortunately. -
I used to use Jet Pets and Dogtainers but now use All Creatures Air Road. They are cheaper and Wayne and his team are excellent to deal with!

Chocs look the worst of the three colours when losing their puppy fluff but he will come right in time! I recommend a Furminator to strip the dead hair but buy one off Ebay where they are half the price of pet shops!!! I have two chocs in my pack and they don`t seem to bleach in the sun but I have seen chocs who do.
-
I also use Virkon and have done for years. I don`t enter shows when pups are due but do go when they are a couple of weeks old. I have a spray bottle of Virkon made up at all times to disinfect shoes worn to shows and shoes of visitors. I shower and change clothes after a show before touching the babies the same as when I come home from work in the afternnon, I don`t touch them until I am clean and disinfected lol! Virkon is relatively cheap and easy to make up fresh as required as it is in crystal form.

I have eleven dogs ans have been recommended by my vet and another vet I sought an opinion off to use Ivomec injectable off label as heartworm prevention as a cost effective way to treat multiple dogs. I just wonder how many of you use it and is there any possible side effects and if so how common are these? Maybe some of you know of a better alternative..?
