How can that happen?? If you have a receipt you have proof of entry Dunno, that's why I didn't stress too much that I didn't have my number because I had the receipt. All sorted, thanks Murve.

For those people that didn't get their numbers, it may be worth checking if you're actually entered. I did mine on Oz Entries, have the receipt and the money came out of my account, but not entered. Was to be my baby's first show and a local one, so very disappointed.

Thanks for that, I spoke to my vet last night and while he has only done one before, it would be the same as the cost of a normal desex. However, they now wait till around 12 weeks.
-
Same happened to me, I kept getting the run around. Took three months and heaps of "we are still in validation phase". In the end I rang the Lab in Qld that they used and told them that they were being noted as the problem. Had my unofficial results the next day. Took them another 4 weeks to take the money out of my account. Would not use them again if I was in a hurry.

Thanks Kaffe Magee, I am only an hour from Bairnsdale, can you remember which vet? "Not many would do it but the ones that did I was quoted from $1000" ( Holy crap, were they going to use gold thread?)
-
I'm not sure on cost, I will find out. The bitch will still have seasons, so it's not an answer to de-sexing. Thanks Sway. I was aware that they will still have seasons, it was just a way to prevent someone breeding from her, but still letting her grow and develop with the ovaries still in place. Thanks for checking prices for me.

Does anyone know what the cost is? Is it comparitive to full desexing? I am thinking about it for the girl I have going to a pet home, however it seems the earliest age is around 12 weeks, so I would need to keep her with me longer which I don't have a problem doing.

Puppies are six weeks old today and I can't believe how quickly it's gone. I agree with you Fordogs, it's driving me nuts not being able to get them outside for a run around. Here are a couple of pictures.

Been a long night. Was about to say she is ok, but not so....back to the vet. She isn't well, poor darling. Injections are working but they don't last if she feed pups. So i am home for now, armed with more injections to give her and she is to not feed her puppies till we get her stablized. Vet saids maybe bring in 1-2 pups tomorrow and see how she goes. At this stage in time i am going to be bottle feeding 6 puppies by myself. Hope she is starting to pick up.

((((((((Fordogs)))))))) Penny is feeling much better, though the drain they put in didn't even last the night. It was hanging out this morning so took the stitch out, she slept on my bed so fairly certain she didn't pull it out. Pups are weaned, have stopped the Divetlact for the next couple of days and they will just be having mushy dried food to try and clear up their loose stools.

Hopefully the vet will be able to give you a good prognosis. It's amazing how quickly you become attached to them. Penny is at the vet today having the abcess drained from her teat the result of her mastitis. Fingers crossed she will be feeling much better by tonight.
-
So sorry to hear about your loss. We had a midnight visit to the vet last night because of mastitis. It came on so quickly, she was fine at 8.30pm and was outside with the other two dogs, at 10.30pm she could hardly walk. So after antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and pain relief she is still very, very sore. It was a fluke that yesterday morning I bought a cabbage. So hot and cold compresses, expressing her breast and cabbage leaves it is starting to feel a bit better. Just as well puppies were started on solids and will lap up milk and formula and are sleeping through the night. Feel so sorry for Penny, she wants to get in with them, but just doesn't have the energy and is doing lots of sleeping. Poor baby

Hi Sway, Happy for you to use my pics.
-
I bought some quite a few years ago from PetNetwork, but I just use people sanitary pads, much cheaper than the ones to go with them.

Aww they're so cute! Are they moving around much yet? I woke up to puppy squeals this morning. They tend to squeal when Mango gives them a clean. Such a sweet little noise to wake up to They're getting around quick now, as soon as Penny gets in the box it's like a herd of elephants. They bark and growl now, it's cute, but not at 3 in the morning. I remember that so well - that herd of puppies galloping across the whelping box! Two of the boys got out this morning and then couldn't get back in. Time for the side to go back in. All of them had baths last night, we had a real production line going.

Well 13 puppies arrived right on cue, considerately in the middle of the day, 7 males and 6 females (1 stillborn). Blume did a fantastic job considering it was her first litter. All are doing well and eyes almost open. Congratulations Deserthunter. I bet you've been busy with that many.
-
Same Me to. Thanks for the replies, I would prefer to match temperament to the family, though I have seen puppies pick people.
-
As a breeder, do you pick the puppy for the buyer or do you let the buyer choose their own. For example, the first person on the list gets the first pick. Or do you temperament test the puppies and match them to the buyer/family based on which one you think will suit them?

Congratulations Rebanne and especially Fern, it looks like you had a tough time. They are soooo cute!!!!

Puppies were three weeks old yesterday so I'm adding a couple of more pics. Have started to keep Penny away from them at night as she keeps waking them and me up. When they do wake up I bring her in for a top up. They have started to use the paper to toilet on as well.

Nope the six is certainly enough. 4 boys, 2 girls. Girls are a bit weak, trying nurtigel and making sure i can get them latched on, boys are like milk dozers. Think we have retained 2 placentas so i will be off to the vet today. Way to go. Hope the girls are OK.
-
Good luck, they are good sizes so far. Will check back in the morning to see how you all went.

Good luck Cavalblaze, looks like you are certainly going to have your hands full.
