My dogs are a bit shpeshal, they also love the pods when we have fresh peas, we take the peas out and give them the pods and they'll spend hours on that. They don't mind banana skins either, and went crazy over bean shoots the other day, bloody weirdos!!!

Hooray, one less thing for me to pick up! I couldn't see that it would be an issue but thought I should double check since they are determined to eat heaps of it!

After having a bunch of toddlers here the other day I noticed that the dogs were frantically trying the pilfer the watermelon skins that the kids left behind. Is there any issues with feeding them watermelon skin (the green and the white part)?

Contact advance about it, they should be happy to replace it and give you advice regarding if anyone else has had the same issue. They may want a sample returned to check it as well

Their process of checking for green potatoes etc Good luck with that! I highly doubt a customer service rep would know the answer. It is a technical question that is dealt with at manufacturing level. The customer service rep will have access to technical services team who can get the answer for this question. They might not be able to answer it straight away but they should be able to get the answer for you within a week or 2.

For me its simple - seats are for humans, kids move off them for adults ALWAYS and dogs are only allowed on them when invited by the owner of the establishment in which the chairs are placed. To me it is simple courtesy. I've been shocked by how many people think its okay to let their dog do it :laugh: as I would NEVER allow mine to do it any more than I would allow my child to sit in a seat whilst an adult stood. Yes! That's exactly how I feel about it

Bear was very fussy on food from around 3 months to 5 months-she would only eat if she earned every single piece of kibble. Since then, she is the worlds biggest gutz and a total piglet-to the point where I struggle using food for training rewards because it distracts her so much that her brain short circuits. So they definitely can grow out of it :laugh:

Are there clinics like that?! I wouldn't be able to take my JRT there at all.... My vet clinic has a couple of clinic cats that are usually napping on the waiting room chairs. It ticks me off, last time I was there I had a lame dog I was trying to keep quiet and my 2 year old daughter who we are teaching not to touch strange animals. It was a 20 minute wait of bloody misery between the pair of them :

Chatswood is 10 minutes drive from my place, and we definitely have lots of ticks in my suburb and the one between us and chatswood Honestly I wouldn't feel comfortable saying anywhere in Sydney is tick safe

The northern beaches is a very tick prone area but we seem to live in a tiny little 'safe' pocket and don't get them at our place (touchwood). My dad lives in a scrubby part of the beaches and the record is 19 ticks pulled off one of our dogs in a day, thankfully that dog was immune to ticks.

Doof is petrified but the thundershirt has helped a little. The last big storm we had to give him Valium, it didn't take the edge off Bear isn't scared of storms but gets anxious over doof being upset. When he freaks out she goes over and whines and licks him. Eventually she realises he's a lost cause and goes off to bed :laugh:

When I was vet nursing I knew a dog called 'Claire bear sticky bear'. Apparently they had 4 kids that couldn't agree on a name so they got to pick one each We also had a 'Jemma barbecue' because the husband and wife couldn't agree on a name and a 'ballbag' but I never found out the reasoning behind that one :laugh:

You're not the only meanie Kavik :laugh: Oh good I'm not the only one that uses a hose!!! I can never understand how they spend time getting hosed by the girlchild and think it's awesome, throw themselves in front of the hose while I water the plants but if I go to bath them the hose is a mortal enemy!

Definitely take a towel or 3. And a change of clothes. The first thing bear did when I picked her up out of her crate was spew all over me

Yes I'd worry about that too, we used to use a local DIY place many years ago and both dogs wound up with itchy and infected feet as a result of poor hygiene The only cats I ever bathed when I was vet nursing were cats with diarrhea or if they'd had a heavy flea burden we would wash them (under sedation) to get the dead fleas and flea dirt out after they'd been treated

So zigster if your dog was killed there you would be ok with it, cos it's just a bingle and that's what dogs do?

Excellent thanks! I thought it would be muscle meat but wanted to check. I can usually get them for about $2/kg so glad I can use them as the bulk part of their meat!

Our Coles has a lot of lamb, chicken and cow hearts in the pet food section that are always crazy cheap. Is there any issues with feeding these as a bulk portion of their meal or would they be considered offal and should only be fed in small amount? Our dogs get a frozen meat filled long each morning and a small amount of dry and various toddler leftovers at dinner. Doof can't tolerate bones so always looking for new cheap meat for him!!

It's really odd but I actually find the scream WAY less annoying than when Doof (GSD x kelpie) barks. They only scream if they are really excited (or hanging out with a toddler apparently, although her toddler scream has a lower pitch) and it just tends to make me laugh. And no one has called the cops yet

Splendid, I'll order 1 stocking full for my 2 year old for Christmas. I assume they come house trained and are completely trustworthy if I leave them alone to babysit during the day? Daycare is so expensive....
