  1. Thanks for that Huski , I'll give her a call tomorrow.
  2. Sorry, eyes skimmed over the Sunday time bit. Lol.
  3. Are there any free spots still available? What time is it on Sunday?
  4. I really like what you've said at the end of your post Emm, your situation sounds similiar to mine. I feel the same. I got my poodle from a BYB. Apart from numerous allergy problems, she also has behavioural issues. Not saying that that's definitely why she is how she is, it's a combination of things, but from now on (I'm planning on getting another dog next year) I will always buy from a registered ethical breeder. My parents have a pet shop puppy, he's a good little boy, great temperament, but has a bad knee that's probably going to require surgery when he gets older.
  5. I'm going to have to boycott this thread! Both of the cream babies are just gorgeous. I think I'm going to take myself off to the spitz thread to ask some questions, lol.
  6. :p lol. I have a lot of time to think it over though so it's okay! I'll have to wait closer to when I'm ready for another dog to contact her. She was really nice. Lappiemum, you've given me something to think about there... :D Man the puppies were gorgeous!
  7. Well it was fun! It was my first time really seeing a show, and it was great to see a real live Finnish Lapphund. I didn't get any pats or cuddles but I stood right next to one! I was way too shy to ask if I could pat them so I just longingly stared . They were right there as soon as I walked towards the aisles, I had to ask first though just to make sure, I think it was the lady from Watersedge that I asked. The thing now is, I think I'm torn between a lappie and a Samoyed :D
  8. Thankyou Armahani, I'm so excited to see all the dogs, but the lappies especially I think I'm going to be spending the whole day at the dog pavilion, lol. Not sure if you'd remember me, but I actually emailed(probably annoyed) you about lappies around a month ago
  9. Hi guys, I'm also quite interested in the lappies Obviously. I was just wondering if someone could tell me whether there will be lots at the Ekka tomorrow and around what time they'd be on? I've had a look at the schedule online... But I have no idea about showing and have never been to shows or the Ekka and have no idea what all the numbers mean?! It says they're number 10 on the day? I really don't want to miss them
  10. Thankyou very much for the replies. I just didn't know whether this was normal or I was overreacting about it. They are qualified, I think I was just overwhelmed about the whole thing. I just didn't like pulling her off things with the lead. She's never been aggressive when taking her off the couches and beds. It's only to some dogs and to both me and the groomers we've taken her to. We've got a new groomer now and we've explained the situation to her and they're willing to take it slow with her. She's a poodle,. I'm not too sure why she's aggressive when being groomed, we took the advice of getting her groomed frequently when she was a puppy so I don't think lack of grooming is the reason. I've contacted another trainer/behaviourist so I'm hoping we're now on the path to improving. Thanks again.
  11. It was used to set boundaries as well, like we had to set the doors as boundaries, she couldn't go through them. So we had to pull her back each time she went to walk through a door. The couch thing was that if we picked her up and put her off it wouldn't be as effective or would come across as praise because of the handling. It certainly worked, as we tried it for a week, but my dogs behaviour just didn't seem the same, she didn't seem as happy. Would that just be her adjusting to this? Maybe I'm being over sensitive about it?
  12. So there are mixed feelings on this sort of training? I was just wondering, and I don't mean to ruin this thread if I should post this as a new thread or somewhere else please tell me, but I recently had a consultation with a trainer because my dog is aggressive, aggressive to some dogs and aggressive when grooming. This trainer said to pull the lead to correct her... They said to start off with not allowing her on the beds, couches and up high. They said to pull her off with the lead if she jumped on the couch... They did an example of this. This made me feel very uncomfortable, but the trainer said it wouldn't hurt, and that my dog wouldn't choke. I don't really know what to think about it, as obviously I'm not a trainer and we've never had problems with my other dog (Who has done preschool and another obedience course and we haven't had any issues with) and I don't know whether this is normal, all I know is that it made me feel uncomfortable and I didn't like doing that to my dog. But if the dog is aggressive (What I described my dog as being) then is this what is used? I'm determined to get myself and my dog sorted out, because I know it is my fault. I'm just really stumped on this.
  13. Haha my mother might like the idea of that one, with the George Clooney lookalike! I'm not a very confident highway driver yet, so travelling to Nambour might be a bit of a problem :nahnah:. Tilly has an ear infection at the moment and we went and saw a vet but we weren't very impressed, so if her infection doesn't clear up with this medicine we were going to try another. The Buderim vet might be the go as that's not too far away, I'll also keep North Coast Vets in mind too. I really appreciate the help
  14. Thankyou  Would that be the one that used to have the grooming salon above it? I'll check it out.
  15. Just wondering whether someone could reccommend a good, polite, kind vet who also takes an actual interest in the animal they are examining in the Sunshine Coast area, preferably either Maroochydore, Caloundra, Mooloolaba areas. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help.
