Hi, may I join in? I have a dslr, but haven't used it much at all and I've had it for over a year! So I'm still learning and the photos won't be fantastic... Do you just post the photos here when you're ready? I think I'll just take photos of anything each week, might take a few of Tilly as I haven't in a while.

I second this, be very careful. I've just driven from Maryborough and there's quite a bit of damage to the roads between Maryb and Gympie, they're also starting to repair them so there are a few hold ups.

I really like the PAW pure animal wellbeing products. When Tillys allergies flare up I use the gentle oatmeal one which I think is the gentlest one of them and when she's fine I use the rose and sandlewood? one. I can't remember what one it is exactly but yeah. They're natural and i'm pretty sure there are no major nasties in them. I also know NEEMpet products are quite good, you can use them on skin conditions and sores.

Hi tlc, I was in the same kind of predicament. I have only one dog though, and she's quite small so it's been a bit easier to work something out. I work really long days anywhere from 6-9 hours so I got a cheap version of the 'dog loo' (Was like 30- 40 dollars compared to the 300 ones) which Tilly will pee on sometimes during the day. (Some days she seems to just wait till I come home) I also have a doggy door, but like you I'm paranoid something will happen to her. So I put a dog pen around the door so it's just a little area on the grass/patio that she can go to the toilet on. But I only do this if I'm going out for a couple of hours, even though it's only a small space, I'm still paranoid about something happening. I don't think it's mean to not walk your dogs before work, I guess it depends on the type of dog you have, what they specifically need... Some weeks I unfortunately hardly take Tilly for a walk, but I try to substitute that with other things to mentally stimulate and tire her out.

It'll be interesting to hear what to do for things like that. I actually just got my own finger in the dog nail clippers the other day, was cleaning them and absentmindedly closed them on it. Wasn't too deep but sure hurt a lot. Hope his tongue heals fast!

Kind of a question to do with just being the general public going to a show. Is it okay for people to just walk around and have a look at the dogs etc, or does this annoy show people? Is it okay to just stand somewhere and watch what's happening? I've been to a couple of shows, kind of just walked around looking, seeing what it was like. But I just thought about it and do you find it weird? Or you're just used to it and it's normal? Not sure if this is in the right section, sorry if it's not.

It's funny. Christmas is so close. My family have been asking me what I want, and I've made a list of show stuff for when my puppy gets here! Nothing for me! I haven't really 'introduced' myself in this thread, as I've just been researching mostly for months, but now it's getting closer and it's kind of sinking in more that I really will be getting a puppy! So anyway, yes I'm hoping I get a beautiful Samoyed puppy early next year sometime, if all goes to plan. . Thanks for the link Dju! *bookmarked* Lol.

Sooo... I'm a bit confused about what sort of crate would be best to buy. Wire crates are better to get for puppies than soft crates, right? Because they can chew apart the soft crates? Or does it not really matter? My toy poodles crate is heavy enough for me, I'm dreading having to buy a bigger one and lugging that around! Hmm... Also, I've read a whole different tonne of things saying, buy one to fit the puppy because then he won't pee in the crate (Other reasons I can't remember, and then others saying buy the size crate to fit when the puppy is an adult. Obviously the second saves money, but I'm confused. Which is the way to go? I'm thinking wayyy too far ahead, but I just can't help myself

I'm no Samoyed expert, but I know a tiny bit about grooming tools... If you really want to do something to his bottom and hocks, maybe get thinning or blending shears/scissors... Gives a more natural look if you do it right, would be better than clipping or standard scissors...

Mmm I don't really like comfortis :S just the thought of putting that stuff inside my dog... It definitely has it's place though, like when the health of the dog is at risk, or the fleas are never ending.

I was about to ask that question, lol. I just say Samoyed like Sam oyed which I know is wrong but people keep making faces at me when I say it the other way. I've heard people say it both ways though :S.
