Another Luxating Patella Topic..
DogNerd replied to DogNerd's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks anyway Minxy :). I was thinking of finding out another specialist to get them to send the x-rays off to, I just have to find out who they work with first. Thankyou for taking the time to explain it to me Rappie :). -
Another Luxating Patella Topic..
DogNerd replied to DogNerd's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thankyou Rappie! That was very informative. The vet seemed to think that the groove one was the most common and one that they could do. I guess if he required the others he'd have to go elsewhere and if it's popping in and out freely it must be pretty bad Hey Minxy, Fraser Coast. If I can find a specialist I think I may ask for his X-rays to be sent to them instead of who they would go with. -
Pippin has had a bad right knee since he was little, and we got it checked again at his yearly vaccinations. The vet recommended surgery as she said it was freely popping in and out. She said there is two different types of surgery to try and fix it and that they'd be taking x rays first and sending them off to the specialist to see which one would be best for him. Should I find out what specialist or get recommendations (please let me know if you know a good one) for a specialist or just trust who the vet sends the X-rays off to? I take it it's quite a common surgery?

We've only started getting good ones once we got a DSLR :) (plus it gives OH something to do at shows  ) Yeahhhh we have a DSLR, it's just we're both numpties at action shots! BTW, tlc, I LOVE that third one of Lacy, she's just beautiful. I think I can see the love in her eyes

So I tried Barney with lettuce tonight, he took it, spat it out on my leg, saw it and ate it...
-
I love the second one too!! The first is a great moving shot! I suck so bad at getting moving shots... I end up getting them from stills in videos lol.
-
Bananas are a favourite at the moment, but he'll eat pretty much anything you give him!! Tomatoes, apple, carrot.
-
Are you going 'edit' and then 'resize' ? I don't know why there wouldn't be the preset sizes... Strange. If you're in the edit section you can click on the width and height levers. If you click and hold on one it moves them both so you don't end up with it all the wrong shape. Just make sure you click on the dot and not on the bar.
-
Yep I just changed mine and had to figure out the same thing- it's what tlc said
-
I did, thankyou!! It was my third attempt at that particular clip and I finally got it looking the way I wanted. Love your picture btw, beautiful shot of a 'cheeky' dog

Barney- Barney Boo Boo, Boo boo, Bop, Bop Bop, Booney, Piggy, Turdboy, Barnacles, Feralhead or just Feral. Tilly- Tillylilly, Tillywilly, Till Till, Princess Pippin- Pip, Pippy, Pathetic Dog (when he whinges at gates that aren't open when behind him is a perfectly good open gate)
-
The little dogs are loose in the house and Barney is contained in the hallway (which is kept cool) with baby gates.

Week 3! Another of Tilly, freshly groomed: There are some very good looking dogs in this thread!

Am I Being A 'control Freak' With My Dog?
DogNerd replied to Hunny's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I know how you feel Hunny :) My dog is nearly 1 now and he still has bouts of idiocy. It can take him 2 or 3 goes to do what he's meant to do to get what he wants (We ignore him in the meantime). One thing that has taken a while to teach and we're still going with is when people come over. I keep him on a leash until he calms down, being calm is the only way he is going to get attention from the person. You have to be very strict with the person who wants to pat him too  I know what I'm doing is working because he spent Christmas surrounded by about 30+ people and was fantastic. He was excited at the start, but waiting it out with him paid off. Consistency and maybe a new approach to how you react to his behaviour is the way to go... Just keep going and think positive. -
I can't really keep up with commenting on everyones photos I'm sure you all know your photos are fantastic already though  Week 2 I love her little head tilts. This was a "Where's your ball?"
