  1. We used to go to Sydney Animal Hospital in Erskineville many years ago and stopped going because their bed-side manner kept upsetting me (and my old dog). We now go to Annandale Animal Hospital and we LOVE them, all our dogs have loved them. We have two favourite vets at the clinic for their specialist knowledge (allergies / surgery) plus their bed-side manner is much better!
  2. Baby Knuckles zoomies Baby Dutch zoomies Teenage Knuckles and baby Dutch zoomies
  3. God how awful! We've had dogs jump out of their owners (parked) car and attack our dogs, while sitting at an outside cafe. Luckily OH grabbed our dogs, I grabbed and roared at the other dogs and they backed off until the owner showed up, quickly bundled the dogs into her car and sped off without seeing if our two were okay. I agree with Huga people need to restrain their dogs in cars.
  4. Hopefully other states will follow suit? Jail time for animal cruelty tripled
  5. Sienna does look very regal in her collar, love the bling accessorised to play up her best features
  6. Dutch and Knuckles modeled collars for the website YAY! They're Ruthless stars! They don't have their own collars yet but you can be sure they will one day. They aren't related by breed (although both bully breeds) but they're pretty much related by boof!
  7. From the NSW Police news website Two dogs die from suspected poisoning - Earlwood Wednesday, 16 Feb 2011 11:55am Police from the Ashfield Local Area Command are investigating the suspected poisoning of three dogs in a park at Earlwood yesterday. Between 6.30 and 7.30am (Tuesday 15 February) a woman was walking her 13-year-old Boxer, and her friend’s 10-year-old Labrador in the public reserve on Glenview Avenue. The dogs have stopped to eat a piece of bread that appeared to have been soaked in a blue coloured substance. Within 15 minutes of consuming the bread the Labrador died, and the Boxer was taken to the vet suffering severe affects of poisoning. Later that morning, about 8.30am, another woman was walking her six-month-old Labrador in the same park when it consumed another piece of bread. Within 15 minutes the dog had died. Police are advising any members of the public who may be walking animals in the reserve to be cautious and exercise vigilance. If you are walking a pet through the area, or playing with children, please be aware of contaminated food scraps, or rubbish that may be present. Anyone who may have information about these matters should contact Ashfield Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
  8. Ohh gotta love a Rottie! Emma is beautiful, she makes a good photography model!
  9. You stay classy Ash. What a lady And what a beautiful success story!
  10. Why don't you give a few newspapers a call and ask about cadetships? Or talk to somewhere like Getty Images or AAP? They are news wires (amongst other services) and pride themselves on their photojournalists. I would be picking their brains. I have been fortunate to work with a few great Australian photojournalists and even members of the prestigious Oculi group. In fact if you click on 'Steven Siewert' my image is the first thing on his page. He won the Walkley award for an amazing image of my friend. Dean Sewell also from Oculi is an amazing photojournalist and took emotionally charged photos of Aceh days after the tsunami. Good luck! It's hard work but photojournalism is a important role in our society and needs to continue.
  11. These ones? Is the bone part edible? Or just plastic chewy? Our two can't have food when they play as it has caused spats before. Thanks KelpieHoundMum, dunno about the rope. Little Dutchie never liked his rope knot thingy as a puppy parrotpea: Oh that sounds like what we're after
  12. I think these calendar's are great quality and I proudly have one in my home I'm not even bias because neither of my two boofa's feature in the calendar
  13. Hi All We are having trouble finding chewy toys that last (or are liked) for our two boofas. Dutch's favourite toy is this rubber spikey thing: However he has successfully destroyed one end. So we bought him a new toy that is a similar shape but for 'fresh breath' he HATES it. It's the peppermint smell/taste I think. Even Knuckles won't touch it and for the first 30mins of getting it Dutch barked at it indignantly. We also purchased a denta-toy for Knuckles (fresh breath-less) that was a ball with discs that had small nodes that moved and massaged her teeth. She loved it and it has now been cheerfully destroyed. Both the peppermint and ball were bought on Tuesday this week. Does anyone have any suggestions? The dogs seem too like the rubber toys with the nodes/spikes, but I am unsure of the durability of many toys at our pet supply shop. Our requirements are: - not food related (no kongs) - chewy / rubber (no fluff) - for bull breeds

  19. Didn't you say in another thread that Hugo barked incessantly at the other puppies and had to be given a time out several times? That may have been constituted as bullying the other dogs... Knuckles did that once at puppy preschool, but it was a 'stop teaching me things I wanna play!!!' bark. Possibly the same thing for Hugo? sorry OT.
