Maybe the thread could be started Thursday or Friday, lots of shows on a Friday and we could add numbers, locations before they actually started, just a thought

Don't worry, they also say that when they have been flogged hands down by a child and their dog Yep my young bitch and my young daughter (who is very much a novice) have got this recently. What they didn't see was a week later I took the same young bitch out and got a 25 point BOB and an inter in group from an international judge. That's shocking it doesn't overly bother me i think it tells me a lot about the person saying it, i also have a stafford so already have thick skin Fantastic attitude b3 Does face judging happen, yes sometimes, do I care, nope, their loss not mine, they don't get to see my beautiful dogs . I have just done a months entries and am only not entering one show because I am 99% sure one judge is facey. Seven other shows and judges are getting entries from me. I'll spend the day making my property fire proof and letting the dogs run round the paddocks instead. Vote with your feet, there are 100s of honest judges who deserve our entries.

Does anyone know if the nightly sweepstakes will be held this year or have they been scrapped.

That is just sad. One thing I love about living on a semi rural highway, no wandering dogs around here, they would be taken out by a log truck. We have Amstaff breeders two doors up and we are both constantly comparing notes about turning our properties into Fort Knox. This does not work when one dog pretty much fits in the other dog's mouth. Go the boot people. I'd happily lose a leg to save one of my dogs.. my hands are very much a part of my living. Also doesn't work when there are mulitple dogs involved. My 60+ kilo Bull Mastiff was attacked in my front yard by the three pigdog mutts from across the road. We were doing the gardening at the time and they cleared my waist high front fence to get to him. However worked a treat on my two entire males who had a scrap over a bitch earlier this week, stupid boys.
-
Are you serious or taking the piss. I can't believe you are blaming someone for being attacked by a wandering dog because he was defending his dog, however stupid his actions were. What next am I going to hear the little girl was attacked and killed because she screamed and ran. Very few people are truly dog savy and blaming the victims is going to only make the problem worse. Treating the general public like morons rightly or wrongly is a one way ticket to getting every bull breed banned in this country. Thank dawg the jack russell is okay and fingers crossed the man recovers quickly from his injuries Edited because I can't spell.

Maybe give the seccretary a call LOFG, I have had my numbers for a good week or two. I'm a dumbarse, don't mind me.. just pinned up my Melb Show numbers and found my Belgrave ones... Rottweilers were in the line of fire before pitbulls. Yes, Indeed Sheridan, as were and are the German Shepherds. I wonder do these poor girls and other victims of Dog Attacks get any kind of councelling or therapy that involves dogs (say DAS dogs?) so they don't have to be so fearful? Anyone know? In my experience only the short answer would be no...... My eldest daughter who is now seventeen was attacked by a dog as a toddler, requiring plastic surgery on her face. No sort of councelling, therapy or any sort of 'mental/emotional' help was ever offered to us. I will admit however to not actively seeking it out either. Our family dog was a gentle as a lamb purebred Bull Mastiff who was her best buddy and that combined with a positive approach from us as her parents meant she quickly recovered mentally and physically and now or has ever had a fear of dogs. However (bit off topic) my sil has a completely irrational fear of dogs and her young son even though he has very limited exposure to dogs and has never been attacked, rushed, bitten, etc will become hysterical if he sees one.

Hey Rottshowgirl, could you please let me know who won each section and how many in both sections. I was invited with my dog and puppy but the puppy blew his coat in April and still hasn't grown it back so I didn't think it was worthwhile just bringing my older dog (who didn't really have a hope in hell of winning ) over. Would love to know results :D

Macallister & Sale-mafra Weekend Numbers And Results

Us Sammy people love our international judges Very jelous of those showing today, the weather is gorgeous in downtown smoggy Melbourne :D -
http://lilydale-yarra-valley-leader.whereilive.com.au/news/story/dingo-death-trauma/ Axle lived across the road from my mum He was a lovely natured animal, well socialised and well exercised by his owners. It wasn't unusual to see him and his 'dad' at the local shops in the evening just picking up some groceries. He was attacked by an unrestrained mongrel just around the corner from his house on the way home from his evening walk with his dad. Thank god neither of the girls were walking him at the time. He didn't stand a chance. Axles owners could be described as bogans and he could be described as dangerous but he was lucky, his owners were responsible, they were educated, they socialised him, exercised him and never, ever let him wander. Pity the other morons didn't do the same ................... Time to stop blaming breeds and start blaming idiot owners

Just quoting for Mattew_B incase he has me on his blocked list ;)
-
Matthew are you aware of the difference between the American Pit Bull Terrier and the generic pitbull/staffy x that is being bred by bybers and is favoured by bogans. You do realise that the dog responsible for this attack and all of the attacks quoted is the latter and not the former??
-
If he doesn't have papers he could be anything, I would only ever buy from a registered, ethical breeder.
-
Mathew, it would be nice if you actually checked the facts before making such assertions. Here, let me help. OMG - a Beagle was responsible for a fatal attack.. and retriever mixes.. ban them!!!! OMG look at the stats for the Pit Bulls Pit bull TYPES... and lets face it, if its over 20kg, not readily identifiable as another breed, and powerfully built, its a pitbull. All dog attack researchers are very wary of breed attribution and all note that it isn't helpful in understanding what makes a dangerous dog. Its a message few anti pitbull crusaders seem capable of grasping. PF it states at the top of that report that only dogs that were able to be accurately identified as a particular breed were included, any that weren't were omitted from the statistics

I am so, so sorry you had to witness it Denny Sending you huge cyber hugs. If you need a real one you can usually find me with my Samoyeds just ask for Jen. I have no idea what I would do if he was my son (maybe become an alcoholic!!)I do feel for his mum who is a genuinely nice person. I am so lucky my children are so well behaved, my daughter was with me Sunday and even though she is eleven, the only time she left my or my ohs side was to go to the toilet and even then she asked me if she could go. My three kids are 17, 13 and 11 and they are usually very tolerant of 'littlies' and they don't like associating with him. But *sigh* the thing is other people shouldn't have to keep an eye out for him. I work 50 hours a week, come home on Friday night and spend anything between 4-6 hours getting 2 or 3 dogs ready for the weekend. Showing is my time, if my kids come with me they bring dvds, ipods, the laptop and books and are expected to behave in a completely appropriate way if I am grooming or in the ring. I can completely understand other people being completely pissed off with him and others running riot so to speak.

The boy suffered a broken finger and was kept in hospital overnight because he had a bad bump on the head and was quite groggy after the accident. He is a very, very lucky little boy and I really hope this has taught him a lesson but I don't know............... He suffers from ADD (I think that is the term?) and attends a special school, his mum is a single mother and she isstruggling to deal with him. IMHO if he was my son I would kick his arse but I don't know if that would help either. Thank god, the people driving the car were totally oblivious to what happened, I can't imagine how distraught they would have been if the knew.
