  1. Sending healing vibes and prayers to Reg and his owner You are an angel IG
  2. I use rolled collars on my Samoyed when I am not at home, a rolled check when we are walking or training and a snake chain when we show, when I am at home they go nuddie . Is it the buckle that is getting the hair caught in it and causing the problem
  3. Me too I am over the moon that my boy is in the top ten in my breed
  4. A dog who I never met but features in the pedigree of not only the above two but also every Samoyed I admire including my own would have to be CH Aldonza Kistas Kid. My current fave though would have to be CH Aldonza Espirit De McCoy. Also have a thing for the father and son duo of GR CH / Am Ch Pvt Stk's Fire In the Sky and CH Suthanlites Lite My Fire.
  5. first show a specialty your keen Just kidding the new little girl is fab, I had seen a few of your posts and was wondering IF you were getting a new baby but didnt realise it was going to be a show baby! Youll be hooked soon enough like the rest of us, good luck! Don't worry Erin, my first show was a specialty too, we came third in a class of 12 and ................ I actually didn't die Had my 8th show today and I still shit myself but I am officially hooked :D
  6. Myself and my dog are complete newbies to showing and would have to agree that you are never too old to start, neither is the dog!. I didn't start until my dog was a junior due a variety of reasons, but we had our seventh show last Saturday and our first in intermediate. We won the challenge, best of breed and even got shortlisted for group It has been hard work more because his handler is a complete nuffy rather than anything to do with him.
  7. Pete from Group 6 at Lang Lang on the weekend
  8. I had no idea what his name was, but now I know. I went to the Samoyed championship in August plus a couple of members comps but then my norty Sammie decided to eat half a tennis ball so he had to have surgery so ............................ we only started showing seriously again in December. Peter definately does rock
  9. Way too hot, but it was lovely when the cool breeze came through off the bay at lunchtime. Did notice the dip in ring 6 but it didn't bother my dog or the grass for that matter but a big thank dog for the steward. Being a newbie with a judge who spoke no English I had no idea what to do or what I was doing, how embarrassing I had to go in 5 times with one dog and was stuffed after the first time, got home, threw the kids in the pool for a little while, had a pizza and bottle of wine with tea, fed doggies and horses and was snoozing on the couch by 6.30 Lovely show and will be back next year for sure
  10. Group 1 1-125 Group 2 127-193 Group 3 194-287 Group 4 288-360 Group 5 361-443 Group 6 444-564 Group 7 565-629 We'll be there with 4 Sams
  11. Yayyyyyy Fletch, we'll will join you tomorrow, promised the kids a day in the pool today. Any other Sam results
  12. Fantastic to hear she is feeling better My norty little dog had almost the same symptom and had half a ball removed from his intestine today, if she is still listless tomorrow I wouldn't hesitate to take her back to the vet
  13. Thank you Leopuppy I found her website and number so will give her a call
  14. Still looking for a club or school that trains on a weeknight that doesn't require we wear a halti or pay a huge amount upfront after one half an hour talk I am very happy to travel up to an hour
  15. I'll give her a call when I get home tonight
  16. It would probably depend upon how often they meet and have a full chorum to approve memberships. If you have any concerns, perhaps contact the secretary of the club and enquire as to the status of the application? I have contacted the secretary on two occasions, the first time I was told that it would be checked and that a newsletter would be forwarded to me ASAP and the second time I was ignored :D Can I ask what a full chorum is Sorry newbie with no idea. I know with DogsVic I think my membership was approved and everything back to me in 3 weeks which I though was great considering they probably have thousands of members and with another breed club only two weeks. Maybe I am just being impatient
  17. Wasn't quite sure where to put this questions but I didn't think it deserved a thread of its own How long on average would you expect a breed society (smallish) to approve a new membership
  18. Thanks Gila ;) We are probably looking for something more structured. We have done all the basics and having two SnowDogs, we really need to do more than the odd class here or there just for fun. Any other ideas, I am quite happy to travel
  19. Thanks Jules I have contacted K9 Komapany but they have closed while they look for a new home. Interesting in knowing what you mean by pet dogs? Both my dogs completedy puppy school at the local vet then we attended K9 Kompany and did the Ideal Dog Assesment. One isn't desexed due to me showing him.
  20. Hi there Just wondering if anyone can recommend anywhere in Melbournes outer east or Yarra Valley that doesn't train on Sunday mornings. We often have either soccer or football on, on a Sunday or Saturday or both and we really need to attend more than one or two classes a month. So I am looking for somewhere that has classes on a weekday night. Any recommendations would be great.
