  1. Breeders are actively and openly selecting for aggressive temperament? Or breeders are actively and openly selecting for correct temperament? No breed should be watered down to fit someone elses "ideal" IMO.
  2. Does that mean it can be watched at any time? ie, later on today?
  3. This. Many 'pet' owners don't draw the line. Either they have no interest in their dogs wellbeing or they are simply ignorant and/or uneducated. In-laws of mine have an obese dog. They complain it craps on the concrete. No shit, the poor thing can't make it to the lawn without exhausting herself. Why is the dog fat? Because they "can't walk it". Why can't they walk it? Because "it's too fat". All this said whilst the dog is being thrown sausage after sausage abd all the left over BBQ scraps. Go figure. Then there are those who like to brag how 'massive' their dog is. No mate, it's just fat.
  4. There was an article in yesterdays Advertiser - 2 American Bulldogs stolen from their backyard, Walnut Ave in Parafield Gardens, Adelaide, between 3pm and 9pm last Thursday.
  5. .... Ernys back ERNYS BACK! Hope you are feeling better
  6. My understanding for the core vaccs (C3) too Problem is that some vets follow the new protocol and others refuse to acknowledge it. Same goes for training clubs, boarding kennels.... We don't generally board our dogs, so don't have a problem there, but have had lengthy conversations at a couple of clubs we play at regarding their policy. Both clubs ended up seeing our point of view - with an animal that is Titre tested I can PROVE that they have immunity. (Or at least did at a given point in time.) All anyone who vaccinates can prove is that they have vaccinated - it is not a guarantee either. Oh - best to be careful with heart worm injections for Collie dogs. My boy doesn't tolerate anything with Ivermectin (sp?) in it. Your quite right, titer tests PROVE your dog is vaccinated. It's the only proof that the vaccination worked. I wish my local club/vets would see it that way. Some people can't or won't see past their own "policies".
  7. Try eBay, there are usually a few 2nd hand ones for sale there.
  8. Nothing wrong with white poop. But if she is straining or you think she might be a little bit constipated then try adding some mashed pumpkin and/or some soaked psyllium husk to her diet for extra fibre. A can of sardines might help too
  9. Erny has. If you do a search you might be able to find one of her old threads on it.

    Oh No :-(

Save the chewy treats for keeping her occupied (Kongs, crate training, winding down before bed, after training, etc). If you store them in an airtight container they will last you ages. For training you want treats to be very small, smelly and soft. And if you're clicker/marker training you'll want to be able to reward rapidly without pup choking or becoming distracted by chewing up the treat. Things like Chicken Chunkers and 4Paws are good for ready made no hassel treats. Yogurt drops are great for keeping on top of the crate (in a sandwich bag) or in you pocket too
  11. Which is how I ended up with a whole box of stuff that I probably didn't need
  12. No advice but I'm sorry to hear you lost Mozart.
  13. I found this part quite confusing: Where they tied up or not? And if they were then why get yourself and your child close enough to be "attacked"? MW don't you know, if it's got a big head or a red nose it's a pitbull for sure...
  14. I must be losing the plot too because I believe them
  15. He goes where he can because he can.;) This is where a crate can help. Have you thought about leaving him in a secure run outdoors when you are out?
  16. I got mine from here https://www.hartsport.com.au/categories/fitness-training/10-balance-core-strength?product_page=2 $6.50 each
  17. Can you let me know if/when mine has arrived too? It was sent direct through the eBay seller last week so hopefully you have it http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310246370385&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

  19. Is Moo Goo (human) Shampoo/conditioner safe for use on dogs? Given that it's natural, chemical free and the rest of the family use it I'm tempted to give it a try Ingredients; Shampoo: Purified water, Decyl Glucoside and Cocoyl Glucoside (from Glucose). Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate and Sodium Laurylamphoacetate and Cocobetaine (from Coconut oil) Conditioner: Water, Cetearyl alcohol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate (Rapeseed Oil derived detangler), Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Allantoin (Comfrey Active), Piroctone Olamine, Milk Protein. More info here: http://www.moogoo.com.au/scalp-friendly-shampoo.html Opinions please?
  20. ^This. Who are you calling? The council office or the ranger? Request the rangers direct phone number and call him every time the dog is out. Get the neighbours to do the same. Tell her good luck finding a lawyer to take up that case given that she's the one breaking the law
