  2. The owner is suspected to have fled to South Australia.. great. NOT
  3. I hear ya, finding someone to do it as a labour of love would be just to much to ask lol Do pooh aint that bad If he wasn't being paid by the hour, and could play with the dogs while doing it, my younger brother would do it for X amount each day. So i imagine there would be other kids that would do the same.
  4. part three has australian shepherd puppies. nawrrr
  5. good on Troika for being saved and having so much fun in the movie 8 below. Shame on the previous owners for trying to make money out of a dog that would have been put to sleep otherwise
  6. Yes, we're planning to use Monash's Echo system which will record both audio and visual of the presentations and they will then be made available online for free. Check the Animal Welfare Science Centre's website after the seminar for links. http://www.animalwelfare.net.au Awesome. SOunds fantastic. Thankyou very much MLC looking forward to it.
  7. Will the seminar be recorded and available to those who cannot attend, either to purchase or free?
  8. People never cease to amaze me with just how stupid and ignorant they are. Irresponsible owners, urrrrrggggggghhhhh
  9. I'm very glad to hear that the petshops half did something right here. N@Dog, next time you're ready for a puppy (and Parvo is no longer on your property) please consider a registered breeder and papers. best of luck mate with Abrham, He looks like my sister's dog Mackenzie.
  10. That's very sad. I was wondering how things went since his intruductions thread. Do you think it was because he was at the pet shop? Would have been hard to deal with.
  11. German Sheperd would be the most obvious breed, then I was thinking he could have one parent who's a Labrador x Kelpie.
  12. Australian shepherds can have fatal eye issues. Take her to the vet please. :D
  13. These aren't the mines in SA by any chance are they? Waiting on a reply from you, as are a few people on here.. But if you are going to the mines in SA, i might be able to help you out.
  14. Not for dog treat making, but for beef jerky; would it still be suitable?
  15. EEEWWWW, hahahahaha My ex had a really weak stomach. We lived on a block of land behind the chillers (place were people sold wild pigs/kangaroos that they had shot) sometimes if the chillers were full or if the pigs were too small, instead of taking them home, the people would throw them over the fence (into my side yard!!!) My (at the time) 5yo daughter was really busy down the back one day so I called out and asked her what she was doing. She had a jar and told me she was collecting 'bugs'. It was common for her so I thought nothing of it until she came waltzing in with half a jar of maggots.. I told my hubby to go and see what was there. Watching him out the window I knew something was wrong when he leant over the small (hip high) wire strand fence and vomited. Smiling to myself, knowing I should have checked I kept watching thinking it served him right for being a butt head earlier. He was holding the wire to balance himself as he lent over and heaved again when he lost his footing. The wire gave way under him and he basically somersaulted over the fence...LOL not only did he land in his own vomit but right in the guts of a fly blown pig that had been dumped sometime in the middle of the night. Ha ha, if that wasn't funny enough, he was so disgusted he jumped up running and began ripping of his clothes yelling for me to grab the hose. It was quite a sight seeing this big grown man squealing like a little girl, running around naked, kicking and screaming. AAAHHHH, one of my fondest memories... THIS ACTUALLY MADE ME BURST OUT IN LAUGHTER at 1.23am... lol
  16. ewww. reminds me of the time our back freezer failed us. It's chockerblock full of kangaroo, goat, etc... just heaps and heaps of dog meat. WELL it failed us and we were not aware of it at all.. About a fortnight had passed and i kept finding this disgusting smell in the back area, and was contstantly cleaning around the freezer. I decided to open the freezer up and out gushed all this brown stinky mouldy water, it aws disgusting.. all over my legs and feet. and i vomitted into the freezer.. looked indie and saw nothing but bags moving and maggots EVERYWHERE. Oh gross gross gross gross. How do the flies get into the freezer to lay their eggs? I truely have no idea. but it smelt SOOO bad. I remember vomitting my guts up and hosing down teh whole back area, the dogs thought it was fantastic and i recall dry reaching and heaveing while putting the dogs away from the sheer stench. sigh. it was feral.

  18. All of my dogs have their own colour for everything that is theirs. +1.
  19. I didn't find an Australian shepherd, but i love how much of the working breeds remain similiar.. collies etc.
  20. keep track of it. note down teh times and when he does it. is he weeing normally?
  21. Nevermind. I worked it out. Thanks for looking though.
  22. Thanks BP. It's done now. I don't think it did any damage. Honestly, I didn't give it much thought as all I cared about was killing the maggots and getting them gone. I scrubbed the whole decking down afterwards and didn't notice any difference in the spot where I poured the boiling water. Hopefully, I was lucky . Feeding maggots live, we would keep them in the fridge. ;)
  23. Hot water may cause a lot of damage to your deck. Go out with ice or really cold water..
