Does any one else think their could be poodle in there?

Taking on two males will be hard, beleive me i did it with Border Collies. If you are willing to put in the hard yards, seperate loves, training, everything and stick to rules etc the whole way through for both of them then you could probably do it. Two dogs = ten times the destruction, holes, piddle puddles, toileting troubles. Now that I have Australian Shepherds; and I've grown up more, I've waited 6-8months minimum before introducing another dog. In saying that though, I spend ALOT of time and effort with the dogs individually and together. If you really want to do it, be prepared for a lot of stress. Can both Hubby and you take the dogs to obedience classes? They will both need to go..

Couldn't you just take your dog in the crate?

I think the OP only wants to keep them off the grass for a few weeks to let it establish properly. The radio fences (work for some, not others) are supposed to teach permanent boundaries, aren't they? for my dogs it has taught a permanent boundary, as my bitch jumps the fence.. so by having the radio fence run along the existing fence, my girl stays away from the fence.

How about buying a pet containment system? A radio fence?

teh bitch will be an adult dog at that age, and capable of rearing a litter of pups. Ivy may not have been raised the same way as the bitch to be bred. They could be VERY different. I don't think there's anything wrong with two years.
