  1. Perhaps a rabbit, snake etc is annoying him and he wants to give chase?
  2. Look like a Border Collie that my Aussie Shep plays with at our local park. Chocolate Merle Border Collie. Although you cant really see the dog.
  3. What a bullshit generalisation ;) Not every young adult or even teenager feels 'tied down' by the dog they love and have waited years for. I have had dogs of my own (either gifts or purchased myself) consistently since I was 11 & I'm now 25 and have not once felt burdoned or tied down by them. I know I am not alone in this. Does that mean that people aged between 20 and 40 shouldnt have dogs because they have kids, and people over 60 might die and leave their dog behind? Every person is different, I take great offence to you saying. I am 20, i have australian shepherds and have had dogs from the first day of my life. I have never missed out on anything by having a dog, and the dogs have never missed out on anything by having a Generation Y owner.

    Rocco

heartwarming and heart breaking tribute. RIP handsome Rocco. Hugs to you hun.
  5. I hate to imagine it, but if one of my aussies was hit, all i could imagine is the front bumper and the lights being damaged. Aussies stand not much taller then a border collie and the only way i could see that much damage was if they were going at a ridiculous speed. I've seen a blue heeler hit at 80kms and even that wasn't much damage. The dog died and the car didnt look like it had hardly any damage It must have been one fancy cop car, unless they are including the service, respray etc etc.
  6. This is a Chocolate Border Collie, not a red. In Aussies the colour is called red but in Borders a red is anything from cream to chestnut, not brown. My apologies. I did say earlier i wasn't sure if i was right, and if i was wrong to please put up correct pictures for australia.
  7. Nope. He was a tri colour. If they have the straw coloured hair around their bum, they are a tri, regardless of the lack of copper points. Oh so he still had copper points, just not visible in the other areas we expect to see them. You had to really look.
  8. How is he a Tri Colour with no copper? That makes him a bi Colour.
  9. I much prefer people confuse my dogs for Border Collies then husky retriever mixes. Border Collies will always hold a place in my heat and I will one day have another. I don't mind too much that people don't know what an Australian Shepherd is, but I do mind when they tell me it's a deginer mutt and I've been fooled into buying a BC husky mix. Sigh..
  10. No stress. I do find however that there are not very many Australian SHepherds without copper. SO if you see a fulltail aussie that looks all black and white and you think it may be an aussie; check his undertail and his legs and cheeks for a little bit of copper. ;) In town; the border collies are very sleek and foxxy. Whereas the whole seven aussies here are boofier, and furrier around the face. Border collies ears are different here too; they are mostly erect while the aussies mostly have saddleflap.
  11. Australian Shepherd Black Tri Colour Male Pup with Natural Bob Tail. This little guy's ears were very light for a while and kept rising.. Aussies shouldn't have erect ears. They should be saddleflap pricked or rose. Him I could understand being mistaken for a border collie. ETA: Ew, just realised he was blowing coat. ;)
  12. I dont think it's your imagination.. I just scrolled up and looked at those photos, then had a look at millie and cooper's feet in real life (the black tri bitch and the red merle dog in pics).
  13. Being a Aussie Owner and no longer a bc owner, i wasnt sure if those border collies were typical so feel free to quote the aussie photos and post them with your own border collies pics etc.
  14. Black Tri Australian Shepherd Bitch with Full Tail. Black Tri Australian SHepherd Bitch will FUll tail Black Tri Border Collie Bitch
  15. Young male Red Merle Australian Shepherd with Fulltail. CHocolate Merle Border Collie. Adult Bitch Blue Merle Australian SHepherd with a full tail. 16. Will do. GImme a few mins, just finishing cooking dinner.
  17. I have Australian SHepherds.. I have three. Two are the black tri colour (Black, white neck and legs and copper highlights) and a red merle. I used to have border collies before the aussies. Most notice the Natural Bob tail on the aussies, but I do have two tailed aussies here. I can post pictures if people like. Border collies seem to be smaller then the aussies. in width, bone and height.. My aussie girl is 19inches at the shoulder and my boys are 20 (still growing) and 22. The aussies have fluffy bums, fluffy legs and boys have big chests. Border collies come in i think seven colours; which include all four accepted colours of the aussies. Aussies are black, Blue Merle, Red Merle and Red Solid. All can have the white and the copper or just one, or none. Ask away if you want to know more. ;)
  18. Sunshine and Rainbows describes my girl millie. happy happy joy joy! 24/7 But my pups Jack and Cooper were like this too, although they calmed right down at about 6months.
  19. Probably a mix up. Give her a call.
  20. I like that you've really thought it through. Um.. Personally I think with the older dog having issues with the pup and your trust being not 100% I would wait. You owe it to your older dog to be able to have a peacefull time. Just my opinion though.
  21. Did it look like any of these?? http://www.robinhillfarmaussies.com/images/banner-crop.jpg These are Australian Shepherds, They have their tails docked traditionally and in Australia there is alot of tailed aussies because in order to have a tailess one it needs to be a NBT. Did it look like these?
