Is it normal for the girls to be that much smaller? or are they on teh smaller scale and the boys on the large or their standards? Looks like they still have growing to do. Sorry, aussies are just so similiar in height that was a huge difference to me. Beautiful babies though.. <3 I can't wait .

three years ago my full grown rotti mix was pulled under the tin fence by the two staffy dingoes next doors. My dog's body was litterally torn open, his bones were broken and his spine suffered a lot of sweeling. He had to have his front leg amputated and his entire body was covered in injuries needing to be flushed every 4 hours for weeks. He lived in my bedroom fulltime, was carried outside to pee etc and spoon fed. Eventually he lost the battle and died, but that was 1200 total.

Considering they got out of paying for half of their fence, I wouldn't give them anything more then $500; personally given to the vet to go toward that accident with a bill and reciept.

I've spoken to the other half, and he said he's happy to consider a samoyed if the ones we meet are good enough. Can anyone recommend any in SA, or would you recomend one interstate that would be really worth flying a pup interstate for if the quality is that much better I breeder's site i was looking at said you must be prepared for digging, barking and pulling on leashes.. That this is common and expected. Even with training? which sex do you prefer? why? Is there a price difference male/female? Does coat condition or volume change if being desexed. Does coat stain after seasons? or are the girls generally good at keeping that clean? What age are samoyeds generally puppies for? Is Samoyed theft common? Do pups need restricted play untill they are grown?

We have two australian shepherds, and the OH really wants a belgian shepherd groendale or a ridgeback(dont ask). I want another coated breed, and am considering something bigger like the sammy or something smaller like a lappie or sheltie.I want a laid back member who can be social, ca work if needed and enjoys mental and physical exercise. I love long coats and love to sit there and brush brush brush. Wouldn't be for a while yet, and as we're having children in a few years, i really want to be sure i can trust the breed. Aussies I trust no problem.. so switched on. Shelties yap like there is no tomorrow. Samoyeds I'm hoping to learn about and meet some.

Thankyou again. Lots of information. Should a buyer be weary of a breeder selling entire litters on Main registration, or are Samoyed's generally not faulted enough to need to be on limited register? It's 8 weeks fine to pick up your samoyed pup, or should they stay with mum and siblings longer then this time? What about urine staining? any of that? And tear staining? Wat sort of brushes, conditioners and other coat care should you use? do they blow coat twice yearly for both sexes?

Are breeders against having dew claws removed? if it was asked when teh litter was born, do you think they'd find it acceptable to ask? Are they known to escape like huskies? please excuse my possible silliness in asking this; i've just never met a samoyed. With the dog being white coated, is there any sight and hearing issues? What price range does one go for?

How hard is teh coat to keep clean? Does it stain easily from grass, mud etc? How much coat difference is their between a bitch and a dog? How long does the Samoyed generally live for? Could the Samoyed live in warmer area along the beach? How much does a full grown adult weigh approx? Does the breed have dew claws? are they removed if so? How vocal are they?

How old was the semen for the single pup? Did the bitch who rejected her pups ever come around? - Did she mother other puppies before hand or was it all new? Just looking to hear stories, information, advice and thoughts. Thanks.

Thankyou very much for your replies. What about importing frozen semen from America? Should it (and can it) be insured? How many viles (I think that's what we're talking about here for containment of each collection) should one purchase when using on a maiden girl? if multiple viles came over in the same shipping container, can they be kept frozen untill defrosted individually or must i use them all ASAP?
