Poll: Have You Ever Used The Report Button
Parkeyre replied to sandgrubber's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've needed to use it about ten times. -
I have jsut read the entire thread am am disgusted by what people have suggested, implied and said. Everything I could want to say is in these two posts re: brooke. Hugs to you. Sigh, some people are just cruel idiots who enjoy kicking people while they are down. +1 Some of the comments here have been uncalled for. Why not try a simple little exercise. Get off your moral high horses and put yourself in Brooke's shoes and walk a mile [or 10] in them. Imagine that it is your dog who has started snapping at your children. My god! If anyone posted just that, there would be an outcry of people saying to have the dog PTS because it's HA. For some reason because it is snapping at foster kids, she should get rid of them instead. They are humans too, and have feelings just like you do and your children do. Good foster parents are held in my highest respect, they share their homes and lives with 'broken' children and help them find a good path in life. She isn't taking the easy way out. She has explored options and is continuing to explore them. I have a feeling PTS is the LAST thing on her list. I pray that it doesn't come to that, but I believe if it does it with honestly be her last resort. Some of the stuff said on this forum disgusts me. It shames me to be associated with it sometimes. People need to get over themselves and realise that there is actually a real person sitting on the other side of the screen who has feelings and hurts at some of the cruel words said. I hurt for what people have cruelly said to Brooke in this thread. I love dogs, but boy do I hate the politics that seem to come with owning/breeding/showing/rescuing/fostering the four legged furries. Fantastic post about unfantastic posters.

To sire pups all a dog needs is a bitch to go over and some working swimmes. Sadly. Why did the pound not desex it? more unwanted mixed puppies brought into the world.

Sa Herding Training, Tests And Trials
Parkeyre replied to piper's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
The Saturday is just a training clinic. Then on the Monday there are instinct certificates and all other test and trial classes on sheep. So if you entered the instinct certificate on the Monday and she passed it then yes she would have her Instinct Cert. To enter an instinct certificate they need to have had prior exposure and training on the lievstock being tested on so participation in the clinic would meet that requirement. In the test they need to show a wait and call to you on a long line and then need to show sustained interest in the stock. Awesome. Do you have any reading on this? -
Sa Herding Training, Tests And Trials
Parkeyre replied to piper's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
What does it consist of? I'd love to try my Australian Shepherd bitch on herding, would this give her the Herding Instincts Test if she passes? Excuse my ignorance, just not sure. -
White patterned works perfectly well too. And she is gorgeous. We need photos of Dragon and Tally for er... *cough* comparison. Dragon had his 3rd show day today, and I think his practice through the week has helped. He was much more settled in the stack (not near perfect, but better). That is fantastic Keep it up and he'll be a little star in no time. He's looking great.

I wasnt a fan to be honest. The whole storyline of the old mans life was depressing, i don't think it was good for kids. Two young kids grow up, fall in love, try and save for a holiday, can never afford it as their house keeps keeping renovations etc. they are constantly having to restart saving, then before they know it, they are two old people, no children, and then the wife dies. The never did get to go away.. I think it's just sad.

I can't really chat right now as I am about to go to bed, but tomorrow I'll have a good yarn with you about it. Basically if you are looking at Australian Shepherds, I recommend 8-12months between them as pets or longer as show/performance dogs. Feel free to PM me. I've got all day. Regards, Bon.

I'm pretty sure a limit register dog can not be exported. I've read it somewhere, but it could be wrong. -
