Agreed 110%, I think it's a fabulous idea and how considerate of all the owners building/buying air con kennels for their dogs I always wondered how dogs/animals up there kept cool in long very hot summers! I used to live out in Roxby Downs SA, and only though I caught the arse end of the summer it was still stinking hot and so gross, none of us were coping so there was no chance of wanting to be relocated to Northern WA for work! Ah, I remember living in Roxby Downs. never again.

Having not yet bred a litter; I don't get anywhere near as many weird emails as you all would. :D Thus far; I've only recieved expressions of interest for studs and leases. Not really looking forward to the crazy emails and scammers.

Perhaps if you are talking about breeds like Aussies which are generally easy to get along with, other breeds can be a bit different. For example, with the Irish, if someone already has a desexed male I would be strongly recommending a female, and vice versa. ETA: Our biggest issues are caused by our desexed bitch. Sorry let me better clarify my post.

If you are planning on desexing them then it shouldn't matter what ratio in my experience. Entire dogs are a LOT different to desexed ones and different breeds have different traits and temperaments. I have had four dogs at once, they were two desexed males and two entire males (rotti crosses and pedigree border collies). The entire males had a lot of fights and were seperated. they have all since passed away. When I moved out of home I had a dexed mutt male, and an entire bitch, followed by an entire dog. Again, the entire dogs had some issues, although not significant. The entire male was desexed and now lives with my mum. We then bought another entire male and he was fairly dominant. Due to not meeting the breed standard he was desexed and his temperament has changed immensly. We now have two entire bitches and two desexed males. The boys get along famously as do the girls, but in my limited experience; the desexed pets have gotten along much better then the entires.

I don't see any Australian Shepherd in them at all sorry. I do however see a very Koolie typical style to them.

My dogs poos dont stink out my own bin? I bag it, tie it and bin it. No mess, no smell? Mine do! HAhah I should say Mindy's do, sound slike i put my own poo into a bin LOL I have a separate poo bin! don't you think its rude to chuck dog poo into someones private bin? My post did say "my own bin" but I suppose I wouldn't find it too rude if I put a tied up little bag of poop in someone's bin, especially seeing as though I've picked up other people's dog poo while picking up my own. I'm sure the person would much rather me pick up two poos from the front of their yard and pop them in their bin, then pick up only my own and walk off.

That would be because they are fed a specific amount of food, at specific times of the day, each day and every day, so their owners can time it and teach them to work to a schedule. Although, I don't know how many people in this thread own a working guide dog, so I can't understand why anyone would 'not allow' their dog to toilet in public? Unless, as someone said, it's in an unsafe place, or in an inappropriate place... I'm a guide dog puppy raiser I was merely making a point that it can be done though... If i was a jogger though, i wouldn't want my dog pooing on runs. Then i'd have to pick it up and have it jangling in my hand until we find a bin I hate it when people just chuck out their poo in other peoples bins. Its not a big deal if they're full and about to be collected, but people don't want to bring a just emptied bin in, only to find a bag of poo sitting in the bottom, which will be left to rot there for the next week and stink out the bin every time they open it, unless they fish it out My dogs poos dont stink out my own bin? I've always encouraged my dogs to go whenever they feel the need. I just clean it up straight away and put it in the nearest bin. My thoughts (which may or may not be shared with anyone else) is that if something should happen to me and my dogs need to be looked after by someone else; the dogs will not be afraid to toilet at another person's property or on the side of the road whilst travelling a long distance. It's really not hard to pocket two biodegradable bags and then use them and carry them to the nearest bin if your dog needs to deficate.
