Is A Blue Stafford Breeder Unethical?
Parkeyre replied to mr.mister's topic in General Dog Discussion
It's not only an issue with Backyard breeders, but also an issue with ANKC registered breeders who are choosing to breed blue to blue, knowing that the pups they are producing are not conforming to the breed standard and will never do the breed any justice. -

Walkydog arrived today. Will be giving it a go as soon as the rain holds off. I'm excited! -
My Australian Shepherds are washed, dried, groomed, tidied around ears, feet, pants and have their teeth cleaned for $60 each. I drop them off and pay there. They bring them back to me all clean and happy. In saying that; i live fairly rural, 400kms from the state's capital city.

Still waiting for my new attachment to arrive.. it's been two weeks. -
Aziah; is the company you suggested one whose results will be reliable and accepted? I'm gobsmacked at the price compared to doing the same tests through http://www.animalnetwork.com.au/. Are both acceptable results?

Is the three levels? floor, rails, trampoline bed? so if the pups rolls off the trampoline bed it falls on the rail, then under the rail and tramp bed so much can't squash it? Surely it would freeze?
-
Off for a google look.
-
The actual bedding is like a trampoline then? How unusual. I'll have to go and have a google. Just a thought; but wouldn't the weight of the mother bitch drag the pups toward her, increasing the possibility of her crushing them?
-
Hi Murraydebbie. I can't visualize what you are saying, do you have a photo of that style at all? Thanks.
-
If you are getting a bitch to breed, to keep a male.. just get a male. No point bringing in a whole litter of pups for one dog.

I love having two. I put in the hard yards from day 1 and they are best friends, indoor dogs and the greatest company for eachother while we work. Having two and not doing it properly can lead to jealousy, aggression, fighting, and god knows what else. Have a chat to your breeder, and see if she can recommend anything going on your current dog's temperament. Good luck which ever you decide. =]

My outside dog gives me plenty of 'companionship and company'. I spend a lot of time with him. Training him, walking him, just hanging out with him. I would like him to come in but that ain't going to happen, I would rather he be relaxed and content outside than stressed to the max inside. Would not be fair on him. He refuses to come IN the door, what am I supposed to do? Lug him inside and superglue him somewhere? If him being outside 24/7 makes me a bad owner then so be it. FWIW our little dogs are outside all day too. My apologies. My post was in reference to people who leave their dogs in the backyard and don't want them inside at all. The kind of people who want a dog, but not the work that goes into them. Not you and your situation. My apologies.

Docking is part of a breed standard. As far as I know; cropping is not. Docking is not a superficial surgery. Is cropping necessary for the proper performance/job of a dog? ..this could be an answer.

Our dogs are inside dogs. I don't understand how you can get the companionship and company from an outside only dog.

When Buying From A Registered Breeder Poll 2
Parkeyre replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
No to all. -
I shower with the dogs all the damn time. They even push the toilet door open. Nosey dogs think they miss out
