  1. We had our games trial today and considering that I was sick Gabby won master gamblers and master snooker and a third in master strategic pairs with her brother. The twins went a bit crazy in there first run and was like mmmmm 10 sec over time Inka got a second and a third in strategic pairs masters failed snooker by taking out the spread and gambler masters had her dropping at the contacts so we could actually do them but we mucked around there so we didnt get enough points but at least we are doing those contacts again cheers Danni

  4. Hi Guys Just had to put in my brag from the weekend. We had our State Agility Championship over the weekend it was cold. It started out quite bad getting ready for the first run tripped over the rope that is the gate going in and fell flat on my face. So one very sore and stiff person. I was tough and still ran my `16 runs for the day. Both of my girls qualified in both open and master agility and open and master agility. What good girls they were. So after running the finals the results are: Gabby is the 2012 Open and Master Agility State Champion and 2012 Runner up Open Jumping Champion Inka is the 2012 Runner up Open Agility Champion Proud of both of my girls

  11. Well finally back from Sydney and am tired at least I am still on holidays. It was nice meeting people from on here and knowing the faces lol. Gabby was a good girl and won masters gamblers with 90 points. Out of 30 runs with both girls I got 18 qualies and managed to get in the finals with Gabby in JDM ADO and JDO and with my border collie Inka in ADO. Saw some awesome dogs in both agility and jumping. Congratulations to all the dogs that qualied and got in the finals. Bought awesome stuff as well only problem was getting all my stuff home again
  12. You probably would have seen a crazy coolie with a red haired handler lol
  13. I have a 13.5 coolie and 10.5 border collie which wouldnt have come at that time but she was a birthday present to my mum when my dad died but I basically train her and do things with her and than a 4.5 year old coolie. I usually have a 5-6 year age bracket. One normally old dog that would be retired from competition a middle age dog that is competing and than normally a pup. Usually when I have the pup the competition dog has usually all her titles and I only do quick run throughs etc so when I do have the pup I have lots of time for her so usually depends how far the competition dog is before I get one

  17. Had to rescue this off page 4 hasnt anyone done any good in udx Well I had to put in my brag we had our country trial at Port Pirie and I had Gabby in 3 UDX trials thinking yep well here we go again cant do nothing well bugger me she surprised me first trial and first pass on 186 did the seekback and the towels like she done them all the time. Afternoon well it was like never done udx at all. Sunday we had a small hiccup again with the towels she got the correct one and couldnt bring it too me. After the trial my friend and I decided to use the spare towels and mmmmm no problems. One more leg to go have a few weeks to wait though
  18. when I say I have to Coolies and a Border Collie I get the blank stare and than the Oh I love the border collie they are so smart. Than I just say they are working sheep dog and works the sheep
  19. lol that's the problem I DQ myself as I would walk out the ring my girls have to do it properly knock the bar or miss the weavers out you go I dont allow my girls to do those things and than I go and practice (also depends how the knock bar get knocked as well but than I do tend to find that once we stuffed it becomes very messy so time to get out)also saying that my dogs dont tend to shut down and my girls want there rewards though so 75% of the time I can get a Q if I dont do something stupid
  20. --------------------------------So - all that stuff about are you ready, ready blah blah is gone. I thought - based on what some judges had told me - that I could do what I like with my dog regards set up as long as neither of us have crossed the start line eg I take the lead off, set her up, tell her to wait, let go, and she spooks because the first jump is nothing like she's seen before and nicks off, I can grab her and put her back. As long as neither of us have crossed the start line. If I had crossed the start line and the dog nicks off or around the first jump - I could go back and start her again - as long as I don't touch her. That counts as a refusal, but it's not a dq. Some judges are saying as soon as I've let go of her, I can't touch her again. Even if I haven't gone past the start line. What is right? What variations the theme are there, and what's the best thing to do as a start line procedure in terms of lining the dog up and setting her? She's usually got a great start line, but competition has a way of finding weaknesses I didn't know we had. I dont know never had that problem I just normally sit the dog and I go to my place and tell her ok go.lol. But I was led to believe that you can touch the collar etc and that once you said your ready you cant touch the dog and I didnt think you were allowed to go back once you have gone pass the jump
  21. - never a truer word spoken As result of UDX I will be dropping the word Clever from the Occasionally Clever ones name and from now on he will be referred to only as Occasionally Strauss Mouse got his novice title yesterday - so started his DOR and change of position training tonight. 5 minutes later and we both had a migraine and decided to call it quits. Lucky for him he is pretty! That's what I say about Ruby because that girl couldn't get any blonder if she tried After watching UDX yesterday, I have definitely decided UDX isn't for me, well, more so isn't for Ruby. She doesn't need that confusion and confidence knock! Might save UDX for a future dog when I am more experienced and the dog isn't lacking in confidence! Awww RS what's wrong with UDX it's just so much fun and you do get lovely grey hair out of it
  22. lol I was a bit of a slow learner but taught 3 dogs to speak on command but could never do the speak on command with the stand. The feet always moved. Now the 3 that I have taught to speak are the ones that dont shut up at all. The next 2 dogs haven't taught them and they are quiet. Had taught my kelpie the gloves and she was doing them perfectly for 4 years and than decided that she couldnt do it even though she would be in front of the glove and than goes off to get another one So food refusal it is and I have piggys we have the occasional slip up like the black and gold fritz or we had cooked schnitzel and cheese and Gabby decided to eat a bikky . Gabby has been taught the gloves but I was just never game to do it in the trials was thinking about doing it and did a mock trial and she went straight to the glove picked it up and than spat it out to look for her leather Have to say I will still teach my new dogs both food and gloves
  23. well we had our second obedience trial for the year and I had only Gabby in open and udx so a very quiet night and I enjoyed not rushing from ring to ring  I tried a few different things with Gabby for open so she actually enjoyed her time in the open ring as she isnt confident and it worked but we did lose points for silliness and mum cant throw dumbells etc so we sat on a score of 190 but than came those dreaded sit stay the bugger could only stay sitting for ohh about 10 sec hadnt even gone pass the rope ring when she lay down. she was really on fire in the udx ring with very minimal training like only doing towels as our training like the once a week but hey it worked as we nearly passed except for the last retrieve she got no 2 instead of no 1 The two dreaded exercises that we have problems with she did. Seekback she picked up the wrong article was about to come to me with it and than spat it out and went and got the correct one we got a sub for that 22 pm 38 towels she got the right one went to come to me put it down and went and check did that 3 times before she got bring it to me got 24 sendaway 30 change of position 30 and 13 for the first retrieve no 3 and than 0
