  1. Congratulations Ness and Kenzie. Wont take long to get another 2 more passes. Than its into the fun classes doing dumbell lol
  2. Well we had another obedience trial tonight. Well black and white border what can you say didnt even get to the stays tonight did a brilliant drop on recall pity I never gave a command. Gabby failed ud in sendaway freaked out when a motor bike backfired sehe got a rerun so she decided to jump the jump instead of the box but decided that open was the night and did lovely sit stays got a first place with 196 So how did other Dolers do tonight
  3. Agreed I am currently trying to find the energy to go and wash a horse so I can drop her off at the trainer. I had a pretty good night Banjo was Best of Breed Kelpie and was a very good boy in the ring Abbey got her first leg of ADM and was spot on through the whole course And poor Jenna unfortunately had no brain Not that I can complain since I had no brain in JDM with only a couple of dog in between my JDX, AD and then JDM runs I slept in til after 10 today Gosh I needed it. But it wasn't solid sleep through til 10 unfortunately, but it was nice to lie in with no pressures to get up anytime soon. Not sure if I will come down tonight or not, pretty tired! Will see how I'm feeling. Still got Monday night to go! But we're only entered in the jumping teams, not the agility, we didn't realise it was $44 EACH run ( not combined like it was for Cloverdale) so after only paying for one and being asked to choose, we chose jumping but I would have loved to give agility another go. Oh well!! P.S. Well done Banjo!! See, you didn't need my girls up at the ring last night afterall Hey Rubystar what do you mean $44 a run?
  4. Thanks DSO at least we did our sit stay so my work worked a bit too well went training this morning and we did both sit and drop stay and the bugger did both oh well lets see what happens at Southern. Good luck to you for Southern
  5. Congratulations on everyones passes. Yep know all about those sit stays. Bloody black and white borders Well I had to have a brag tonight. Little Gabby was a good girl she won Open with 197 and had a countback with a friends score and I actually won a countback (normally I loose a countback) We have seem to have gotten over our phobia about the dumbell and a judge giving out commands(last 3 open trials she would fly out to get the dumbell and than slowly bring it to me and than drop it half way)arghhhh so am quite proud of that. We also won ud being the only qualifier there with 189 we lost 5 points in the sendaway by dropping in the box and having to give her a sit command. (that was a new one to write up in the little ol black book). Inka was passing in open and we manage the dreaded sit stay and did a lovely 3 min and when I left her for the drop thinking yep we got this one she apparantly sat up and did another lovely 5 min sit stay (crikies can never stay sitting up and now we cant stay down arghhhhhh). Oh well still proud of my girls though
  6. Congratulations on everyone's passes and placing last night. Good luck for the rest of the time
  7. Ptolomy I know all about it. This seekback had been a killer for about 6 months. She had been doing it nicely with the metal articles (had problems with Xena on wood and leather but she was good on metal). Gabby had done really well for quite a long time and than all of a sudden my smell was poison (which Xena did as well) dont know what happened there and have had a battle since. I tried something different and it worked (now for how long lol) but yep my towels are stuffed so we are working on that one as well and they were perfect found they were the easiset to teach oh well like I said she may soon be in a trial I hope
  8. Yippee!!!! I am so happy My little Gabby has finally worked out how to do the seekback with the decoy and pick up the correct one instead of giving my scent the evil eye and going to the decoy yippee and our heelwork in motion she is doing them consistently and so her multi retrieve. We might just make it to the trial ring
  9. Well done Ptolomy and the kids. Can I have some of that bottle and I might be able to get my girl in that udx ring. Fix up one problem and gain another dont think we will ever get there. Congratulations also to Bedazzle and Seita. Great start for the year

  21. Well tonight at the Games trial had an awesome night 5 out of 6 passes Gabby well the run with her brother well that was a different story we ran out of time I think we were the comedy act but Gabby got her gambler master title with a second place being beaten by her sister Inka got first place ( we ended up doing it 3 times the timer didnt work boy was that some work out lol) Inka got a second in snooker master and Gabby got first in snooker excellent and Inka got a first in strategic pairs. Had been a long time passing in that class
  22. Hey Xena98 - haven't had this issue YET - it must be one of the things I have to look forward to since Bedazzled and I seem to be hitting the same hurdles with each exercise - just at different times. My only comment and something Bedazzled and I were taking about on Wednesday is that our boys need to do something UDX wise every day - if we miss 2 days and revisit the exercise its like they have no idea. Think this is a boy thing though. So for now Scoota is doing more training than he has in the last 5 years and his waistline or lack of is proof I also had this with Xena but this problem had surfaced after 18 months of trialing and doing it and it was a particular trial and the judge put it in a stupid spot something to do with the wind and placement and all 3 of us that competed that day had seekback problems that haunted us. We never had a problem before though. So I just presumed that was that but now it has come to haunt me again
  23. Hi Guys In SA we used to have open B (non titled) and open A (titled) but it has basically stopped as we dont get that many competitiors like the old days. Some clubs did do it but open A judge got 5 competitors and open B judge got 45. So I would say they stopped to make it fairer on the judges to judge say 20 each instead of one doint 30 and the other 10. I mights add we dont have that many doing open anyway with only about 20 odd now doing it. Lot of people who have there CDX title dont do open whilst they are training or whilst they are doing ud
  24. Hi Guys Thought I would give you guys a question that's doing UDX. I was just curious and wondering about your thoughts. I have been training the seek back with decoy. I am being slack in the training department so she hasnt been over trained at all most probably not trained enough. It's usually a once a week if that or once a fortnight and than it's usually doing only one or two exercises. At the moment we are doing the seek back and playing or if we are doing the two exercises it could be the send aways or the retrieves that she loves doing. The seek back had been going great guns with the amount of work that we were doing and than we suddenly had the "oh must pick up any article that I would find" when we were actually sniffing out both articles. I went back to having it closer so it became the scent discrimination and I also had the decoy tied down but it has been getting worse and than goes good and it's like yep she's got it and than it's gone again. Anyway now its here is mums but I'm not going to pick it up because I would rather have the decoy. She will indicated it walks over it sniffs it but wont pick it up. Anyway tonight decided I had enough and I'm going to change my article and have used the wooden article and she is doing like she has been taught. Any thoughts on this? I'm totally confused always got told by people to use the metal. and with the other dog I had been through leather metal and wood finding metal was really good
