I have had Kelpie Border Collie and 2 German Coolies. Love my coolies I think they are great dogs. They are very biddable, very smart pick things up very quickly but they are on the go all the time,oh and a bit neurotic at times lol. My kelpie was just a rat bag she was smart but like doing things her way which doesnt usually agree with me so with her you just never knew what you were going to get (so you didnt expect to pass) the border collie isnt as smart as the coolies but once there she got it it just took awhile to get there and also with her she doesnt like changes so trying to teach her new things she got a bit upset. Saying that they all got there obedience champion title by the time they hit 3.5 years of age and they got there agility champion title as well except the kelpie (only the fact she got trained incorrectly cause in the days I got her we were still heeling our dogs around courses and I had a fast dog and noone knew how to handle her) If I had her now she probably would have that title as well (kelpie early 90's) They all chill out and had off switch buttons actually my younger coolie doesnt do mornings and doesnt get out of bed either lol But it really depends on what you like cause I would get all 3 breeds again

Thanks I'm quite proud of Inka considering she is 9.5 years old. Also proud of Gabby normally she is very consistent but not in the arvo's this weekend. She also doesnt like the rain and doesnt work like she normally does

Congratulation DSO and everybody else who passed. Well after today's performance from the morning where Gabby got 2 first and a second and little Inka didnt get any passes at all in the morning. In the finals both Gabby and Inka got in all four finals Well ms Gabby did not work in the afternoon at all and failed all 4 classes and Inka got 2 qualies in open agility and master jumping. So officially Inka is 2011 State Agility Champion in both open agility and master jumping so overall over the whole weekend Gabby got 6 first places and a second and Inka got a first a second 2 thirds and a fourth plus the two titles

Good luck Kallistar on the weekend. We're not doing obedience we have the state agility trial this weekend. It has been interesting with the towels. I have found something very interesting as well in the last couple of weeks that my yellow rubber band Gabby tends to get once we remove the yellow one she will get the correct one and that is in both sets of articles. I am going to buy other colour rubber bands and take out the yellow one lol So Ptolomy and Bedazzle did you find out with those that they struggled with had they used the soapless handwash before touching the towels or on any medication just very interesting Remember my problem with the seekback well she's back into doing it correctly so dont know what happend there it was really weird it was like my scent was poisen but it was fine for ud

2 of my friends dogs have been having problems with the towels since they changed it into the new rules. The other day we decided to use the tongs and very lightly touching and they stopped picking up all the others and did the job properly go figure

Well I am finding problems with my towels and we are sort of getting there but one of my friends son Gabby adores him. Will even go out the ring for him and when I did the towels with him she wouldnt do it at all. Stupid me did it the following week duh. I found out he had a stuffed knee and asked if he rubbed anything on his knee which he said no. Found out later that he is on very strong pain killers. Dont use him now lol we had a few examples like that when we found out about medication and someone washing there hands with those things. Oh well we will just keep on trying different things lol

just a quick question to you udx pros out there. We were discussing about the towels. We were talking about the timing of scenting and if it effects the dog scenting.we were playing around timing how long the judge scenting whilst the towels are put on the ground and the steward finally getting the judges and puts that on the ground.We worked out around 1 min and 7 sec that was the shortest time so it would probably be more as my friend was just throwing them on the ground doing it as quick as possible. We also did the take 2 out and leave them in the container put the towels on the ground once that was done than scented the other 2 which came around 30 sec. Do you think it would make any difference at all. Also if people been on medication or had wash there hands with the antiseptic wash hands You know the ones that you dont need soap just shoving it on your hands rubbing it in. Was just an interesting topic

Nah you havent killed it havent got anything to report. Havent had any trials and we have a few weeks of agility coming up. I'm still trying to work on my towels and I am trying something different and see if that works can't do any more stuff up since it's already stuffed up lol bad luck about the pim. I did have that problem but I think that is sorted but hey in this game you fix up one and than something else breaks lol so when is your next trial than.

Not quite sure when my next trial is on as it's being quite on the obedience front memory says august as the next couple of weekends is all agility got a country trial and the state champion. Gives me a few weeks to sort it out I hope

Congratulations on every ones passes. I thought I would put in my brag we had today the 3 day event which we hold here in adelaide its like the equestrian version dressage (obedience) cross country (agility) and showjumping (jumping) you have to nominate which class that you want to be in. I had both of my girls doing open master agility and master jumping and Inka won it being the only one to have passed in all 3 classes. Inka won open with 188 and she did her sit stays again and Gabby well she was sitting on 191 and lay down in the sit stay but she won open jumping and master jumping and second in open agility and Inka won master agility and open agility and second in master jumping

Well guys I dont know what happen with the towel fairy and the seekback fairy that was supposed to be flown by express post cause it didnt arrive in Adelaide The seekback she didnt pick the decoy and she knew it was the decoy and she looked and looked and looked but couldnt find it so she stood there. (the other guy that is doing udx his dog didnt get it either and his dog always gets it). pim she got 37. towels she got the one next to the correct one at least she did try and not what she has been dong the last couple of weeks. sendaway she overshot the cones but did her multi retrieve and the positions did them well as well. So was quite pleased with her.

Definitely need the towel fairy I hope it doesnt get stuck anywhere and arrives in time. This is just getting so frustrating. Her towels were the best exercise and it's now like she has never been taught at all. Heelwork in motion fine now that is sorted and depends on her mood if we do the seekback. If she is being a bit of a .... she wont do it at all and will only pick the decoy but if she is in a great mood she will totally ignore the decoy and come back with mine Arghh. and you just dont know what kind of mood she is going to be in. Typical coolie think they are a bit neurotic and moody

I dont like this game my towels are broken unless she feels like doing them and we have a trial tomorrow

well we just came back from an obedience trial. Gabby has decided that we can't do towels anymore for the last 2 days so I was thinking of pulling her out but I thought I would just see what she would do before the trial and she did them so off we went in. Should have pulled her out we couldnt even do the seekback. We went in ud and I thought she would do crap as we have had problems ( the first article hits you so we dont want to do the first article so not to do first article you'll jump the jump instead of running to the box)with the mood she was in she had passed 189 and than on the last food refusal licked the chicken . Went into open got 196 and third place. Inka got 196 and 1st place in open and ud well lets say we forgotten how to do things like missed position in heelwork instead of sitting next to me we moved in front and sat in front of the articles moved in the stand for exam and the best one you quickly sit up and than lay down so back to the drawing board agian lol

Well done everyone who passed we had an agility trial today Gabby had been naughty jumping out of weavers ignoring my call and doing her on thing but managed to master jumping passes with first places but little Inka was so good did her contacts all day which included doing 2 lots of scrambles but she got 5 out of 6 passes with 3 first 1 second and 1 third what a good girl considering that it had poured with rain in our last run

congratulations DSO on your title.Not a bad score for the not the best ring score lol. Didn't stay for too long only did the udx and than left had to go to work. So now with the big guns. You'll love it. Didnt take you long to get your title congratulations again

Well today we had our udx trial well we did the seekback like a pro 27 did heelwork in position like a pro and that included that blasted sit and than came to the towels that we are usually brilliant well as we went to work on the towels a dog (friend's dog) was growling and carry on ohh about 2 rings away and she froze and quite forgotten what she was doing she just looked at me blankly when I told her again she still looked at me blankly and when she put her head down it was like ohhh towels that's right and went and got the correct one and bought it back arghhh oh well next week we have another trial again see what happens Ohh the frustrating thing was went out and practice friday and ummm well lets say we would have passed so can I get that in the ring and not only just at practice arghhh.

Yep me. Did a couple of exercises with Gabby today and bugger me she did the seekback with no problems like she has done it all her life Towels brilliant and so was the multi retrieve so hopefully it all stays together for saturday except if its raining forget it she aint going to do nothing
