What's Wrong About Giving Dogs Human Names?
moosepup replied to W Sibs's topic in General Dog Discussion
I was at the vet once and this big burly guy came in with a gorgeous tiny puppy called... Dave. I loved it! Suited him to a T too. Call 'em whatever you want I reckon. -
Congrats bec, what an awesome prize! Lynn is the best.
-
I don't find them sloppy or stinky. I remove them from the packaging and defrost in the fridge, no slop, no stink.
-
I pay about $22 for a box of 12 patties. They're 250g each so 3kg in total. So in answer to your q about $7 per kg.
-
I'm paying the same for Big Dog as I was for Dr B's. Not sure if Dr B's is still selling at the price it was before though. Sorry, that wasn't helpful at all.
-
Oh, thanks for explaining WM. The only place I can find BARF is Better Pets and Gardens and they all of a sudden stopped selling Dr B's and were selling Big Dog and the guy told me it was just Dr B's repackaged (which it is I guess). Didn't realise Dr B wasn't actually involved with Big Dog.

What the dog will learn is that anything that smells like the baby is dangerous & frightening. Nice way to build a good relationship between dog & child That is probably one of the WORST pieces of advice I have ever seen given on this forum. Exactly. I don't see how this is going to build a positive relationship between a child and a dog which is ultimately what you want (surely). Outrageous.

I take mine out of the packet while it's still frozen and defrost it in a container in the fridge. No wastage. I'm confused, I thought Dr B's had just been repackaged as Big Dog? Can you still get Dr B's??

I would only leave them in the car if it was a cool day, I was only going to be a few minutes and remain in view of the car at all times. Running into a supermarket rarely takes a few minutes, you always think of extra things you need, you don't know how long the checkout wait is going to be etc. Much safer to take them home first.

It could be another dog in the neighbourhood and they just think it's your dog. Perhaps you can film him or something during the day to prove it is/isn't him. This type of thing scares me a bit because sometimes people are willing to take matters into their own hands with a dog they think is a nuisance barker.

No worries, you're entitled to your opinion of course. IMO a dog shouldn't be tied up in a public space for any length of time without it's owner, let alone for 4 hours. Also if you aren't with the dog you don't have effective control over it, therefore, things like this can occur. Yes, they can occur even if you're with the dog but at least you'd be there to intervene.
-
The attack occurred as a result of the owners actions and treatment of their dog.
-
You have no issues with an owner tying their dog up outside in a public space on a 35 degree day for 4 hours without water?

Safe Non Sticky Sunscreen For Dog Ears
moosepup replied to ~Shepherd~'s topic in General Dog Discussion
I use Filta-Bac too, it's excellent. Non-greasy, it stays on and you only need a small amount. -
Moose hates being dressed up so these are just for my amusement. Tehe!

I must admit I think people are a bit better than they used to be. We took the dogs down to the foreshore with us on the weekend and there were a heap of people down there. All of the parents told their kids to ask first before patting the dogs. There's no way I'd leave my dogs tied up unattended in a public place, for their own safety if nothing else.
-
On the news tonight it said he'd been tied up there for at least 4 hours and it was hot yesterday. They had a BM breeder on who said the poor thing was probably dehydrated and not in his right mind. He should have been put down (which he was) but I'm glad she stood up for the poor dog.
-
I use Filta-Bac too. Moose has a bald spot on his back so I put it on almost every day if he's going to be outside.

So there is CAR http://www.car.com.au and National Pet Register www.petregister.com.au/ They are the main two that come up in a google search. So does NSW have their own separate CAR?

moosepup replied to daina's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
no you don't, in fact I only give my dogs heartworm treatment every 6 weeks. I mark it on the calander Ditto, I give my furkids Interceptor 6 weekly and just put a note on the fridge calendar. I have to eat at least once a day ;) so very rarely miss seeing it. -

Strange Regular Overnight Behaviour...
moosepup replied to westiemum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
westie - how'd he go last night? Or don't you know cos you actually got to sleep right through? Glad to hear the vet isn't concerned about it and he's in good health.
