  1. You may need to put him on a lead so that he stays on the puppy pads why you wait for him to go and don't give him free reign until he does go. Or restrict the size of the area he has access to with his pads. I think it also helps if the pads are up against a wall or in a corner. Nacho prefers to back up to the corner of his pen to do his poo. When he does toilet, go mental like it's the best thing you've ever seen and praise him like crazy. I'm not a fan of food rewards for toileting but you could try that also. Nacho also holds it all night but he's a little older than your pup. I don't think I've ever had a puppy that peed/pooped every couple of hours like google suggests and all my puppies have been tiny. Good luck.
  2. Oh no, that's a lot. Moose ate a sachet of RatSak (not all of it) and same as your pooch was straight to the vet, vomited it up and given charcoal. He was on Vit K for about 6 weeks from memory and he was fine. Hope she's fine, sounds like she's gotten rid of most of it.
  3. Yep, never use the crate as punishment and you'll be fine. I left Nacho home alone (with M&Z) for an hour the other day and recorded it on my iPad. He was fine in his pen, cried for about 30 seconds and then just laid in his crate.
  4. It's perfectly fine for him to cry, it's a new environment so he needs time to adjust. :) If he's crying a few soothing words is okay but don't let him out as he'll see that whining gets him what he wants. Nacho screamed bloody murder the first couple of days  but he's right as rain now, spends time in his pen/crate very happily. Hang in there, the first few days can be overwhelming. ETA: hope he's feeling better soon.
  5. It's probably in different spots at different Bunnings but I usually find them in the garden section near the rolls of chicken wire. Otherwise I'm sure they can order them in, totally worth it. :D
  6. My Bunnings always has heaps, I've also seen them at City Farmers. They have a dog on the packaging now. :)
  7. That's awesome that he loves his crate, it makes things heaps easier! Nacho has RC too. At the moment I'm switching him over from Starter to Mini Junior, he loves it! I love watching him snuffle around in it when he's eating. :D I would think they'd go soft fairly quickly in water as they're only small. I personally wouldn't soften them now that he's not a baby puppy and has teeth but I'm no expert lol. They seem pretty palatable judging from my lot (Moose and Zoe are fans too).
  8. Nacho ate ALL his dinner. This is cause for celebration cos every other night he's left one tiny morsel in his bowl and it's driven me crazy.
  9. Sorry, yes you did say that! Suits him and very fitting. IG = Italian Greyhound I'm guessing. Welcome WT, the wait is the worst!
  10. Sweet! I'm just gonna start doing yoga and meditation with my lot, scrap the insurance, this'll save me heaps!
  11. Not sure, I just feed dry. What kibble is it? Does it say on the bag?
  12. It's hard to ignore them but they really do settle down after awhile. I wish I'd crate trained before too! Makes things so much easier. Can I ask, what's the purpose behind soaking the dry? Why not just feed him dry? :)
  13. That's what I'd do Lisa, use a credit card. Or borrow from my parents while waiting for the claim to go through.
  14. Maybe if you had you wouldn't need pet insurance. Strange logic!
  15. Nacho didn't really use his crate until the first night. There was plenty of carry on but you just need to be strong and ignore it. It's hard but trust me its worth it!! Nacho has literally not made a peep since the 3rd night and he loves his crate. :)
  16. Those heat packs are mental, they stay hot for ages!
