  1. So glad he's going to be okay, can sympathise with him though as I've had a really bad case of vertigo in the past. Could not stand up without keeping hold of something, and when my sister took me to the DR I started to keel over as soon as she let go of me. Plus as sick as a dog. Hope he's back to his normal self soon and that he hasn't given you too many grey hairs.
  2. I need to look at show entries so will look at agility entries too... but June is pretty well a write off for me as Diva has shows on the 13th (her Newcomer debut with Joh Bailey as one of the judges ), team penning on the 19th, probably another show on the 20th, then possibly something the next weekend too! Just looked though... CCC agility is the 4th July - if we enter Jenna do you think she will come into season? I also won't get to training again tomorrow night :p Ric has asked us to go and access his puppies so we can help him decide which girl to keep. Wants it done asap so the others can go to their new homes this coming weekend. Of course he only rang and asked last night Oh and Diva did well yesterday, although not much competition was there! She also coped with frieght trains going past less than 50m away I think there were about 6 throughout the day! Hehe, disregard my message on your phone, thought I might get an answer here, when I couldn't get hold of you. :p Mmmm in heat begining of July, probabaly, but who knows with these Aussies. Good on Diva, she did well handling the freight trains given that you wouldn't get too many noises like that around the paddocks.
  3. I went to an official hack show (Diva is a show hunter - 2 weeks until Newcomers Judged by Joh Bailey  Well, and another guy LOL) Up in Northam :D Also did an unofficial dressage test and Diva's first showjumping round (and 4th time jumping ;) ) I can deal with plaiting - takes me about 3 hours to get a horse fully ready though so I prefer it when I only have one to do! Amypie, you will be fine I don't know when our next comp will be. I have so much on with the ponies and Jenna will hopefully put OzJen out of her suspense and come into season at the end of June :D Yes, and Ozjen better get herself organised too. Was about to ask if we were mean't to have any entries in. ETA How did Diva go?
  4. I live in Murrumbeena, but would love their detaqils. It matches the MO of professionals apparently. In and out in 5 mins. They didn't go through my drawers. They just wanted the things they could easily carry and sell. A very similar thing happened to my boss who lives in the Northern suburbs. Once her insurance paid up, they tried to rob her again. She has an alarm installed by they ripped it right off and disconnected all of her electricity. The difference between us is that she has Cartier and Tiffany jewellery and I don't! Please pardon all my spelling mistakes... So sorry you where robbed but so very glad that your little dogs are okay. In my last house I was robbed three weeks after the first robbery and then almost exactly a year later. My kids and I came home while they where in the house on the last robbery but luckily my kids were smarter than me and held me back from going inside, I was just so angry and tired of being their victim. Unfortunatly they got out the back window and gave my bigger dog a very hard blow(probabaly a kick) to the rear leg that left him sore and bruised for a few days. It would have killed my smaller ones. As a single parent the loss of feeling comfortable and safe in our home was a bigger blow than the loss of ours goods and after several more problems with intruders at our widows or in our back yard we decided to sell up and move as I was becoming a nervous wreck. I hope they catch the creeps who robbed you and that you can feel comfortable in your home again. Its good that you have the support of family members, perhaps someone can stay with you in your home until you feel abit more secure again.
  5. "Lil Miss Big Tounge" AKA Jenna the aussie at the beach.
  6. Never entered one of the challanges before as not a good photographer so hopefully it ok to add this. Didn't evenknow the bird had a worm until I viewed it on the computer.
  7. Love the second shot, now that is really capturing the moment.
  8. So proud of Jenna, she is really picking up the tracking well. Yesterday another dog tracking me did not find one of my articles and we didn't notice till later, so at the end of training which was a good hour or more later I put on Jenna's harness, took her roughly to the area we where working in , gave her my scent and asked her to find. And she did!!! Given that it was only a black sock and it was like a needle in a haystack I was very impressed.
  9. Thinking of you Jed and sending healing thoughts, we miss you.
  10. Do dogs enjoy toys? Well these guys do, even to the point of pinching some other dogs ball and then just about dislocating his mouth to carry it of. Luckily the big dog took it in good grace.
  11. My Aussie girl loves all toys and has a boxful(spoilt) she enjoys them immensly and when told to clean them up will put them back in her toybox but I have to watch as she will get a cheeky look on her face and grab out another one. I find they help to keep her entertained and are also good insentive when training. My Papillon boy isn't quiet as big on toys and is happiest with a ball or tuggie, in fact when he was a pup he prefered the ball as a reward to food when training. Recently I had my sister's little dog stay with me for a week and he loved playing with the toys too and having tug of war and keepy off games with the other dogs.
  12. Lovely, thank you cavNrott.. I just got the call from the vet and yep his diet has to be changed. Hills diet prescrition C/D - 4.5kg for $72.. OUCH... She is saying he is going to have to be on this for the rest of his life and being not quite 2 yet I probably would be able to buy a car by the end of it .. I laugh now but I'll cry later.. Surely there has to be a better alternative out there then just feeding him this. We will do it because we have to but I for some reason get the feeling this vet is overreacting a little and just interested in my money.. You too don't have any more of these issues with your dogs? I don't entirly trust a vet that says an animal has to be on a special diet for the rest of its life especially when it comes at a heft cost and they are selling it. Perhaps I'm just a cynic, but years ago I was told my Papillon would have to be on medication for the rest of his life or he would be dead within a year. Well after a couple of months I took him of medication because he was becoming afraid of me(hated being given medication) and I decided that quality of life was more important than quantity. During this time I also changed my dogs diets to RMB feeding, well that was almost 6 years ago and he couldn't be better, he's 14 next month. For a little dog with a hole in his heart and a heart thats beats overtime to compensate he is full of life, and runs around with the big dogs at DOL meets as if he was half his age and never tires of chasing a ball. Perhaps, I was just lucky or perhaps the new diet helps, either way I'm not saying don't believe the vet just saying don't be made to feel that this is the only way your dog will lead a normal life, it may or may not be.
  13. Oh no, how was the stuff in your freezer? I believe you can make a claim if its spoilt, with Western Power. My machine at work was broken all my shift and I suspect a powercut last night might have contributed to it, hopefully the tec gets out today and fixes it. My parents were bragging today that they had a powercut last night but it wasn't a problem as Mums laptop was charged up , Dad's wasn't so they took it in turns to use mum's and also talked on Skypye to some family members travelling overseas. Nothing unusual there except Dad is 81 this year and Mum is only a couple of years behind him. Mum mainly sticks to card games and jigsaw puzzles but Dad is quiet a wizz on the computer and I always call him when I need help.
  14. Just came across this http://z10.invisionfree.com/K9_Allergy_Support/index.php link and thought it might help, mas1981. ETA: Thought it might offer you some moral support even if it doesn't have any quick fixes for Mason, as these people will understand the frustration you must be feeling. That's not to say we aren't willing to give moral support just that we might be making you more frustrated by suggesting things when you have already tried so much.
  15. Lol I have put a shirt on Mason today, he seems much happier with it on, not scratching as much. Have you ever discussed with the vet wether you could bath him in Pinatarsel, I think that's the name of it, used on kids when they have chicken pox etc to reduce the itching. Was also used by a friend of mine when he was having trouble with his liver and it caused him to itch all over. Another option might be colodial silver internally and externally provided he's not alergic to it.
  16. Yep, wasn't impressed with her at all. How did Lincon manage to damage his nail, was it a dewclaw? One of the girls from my first litter is always ripping claws or hurting her feet, from what her owner tells me. Poor Lincon hope he's all better soon.
  17. And the one that is now out of her reach.
  18. Well I made a Gizmo, but obviously Jenna didn't like it as she got hold of it and destroyed it while I was at the loo so I had to make another one which is now well and truely out of her reach. Anyone want a very naughty Aussie??? Just as well I didn't add any of Gizmo's hair or it might have been a voodoo doll! This is the first one and its demise, at least she left most of the head intact.
  19. What exactly have you used for the felting? Have you used any of Jenna's hair at all??!! Gee you'll be overdue for an early night No haven't used any dog hair yet, but plan to further down the line once I'm more familiar with it all. At the moment I'm just using pure wool although if I went around my house at the moment I'm sure I'd get enough dog hair as Jenna is moulting bigtime. Yes, looking forward to my bed was a big day at work today as work put on a morning tea for me to celebrate 15yrs with the company. Not keen on being the centre of attention so abit stressful although it was very nice.
  20. Thanks for the lovely comments everyone, hopefully the one of Gizmo will turn out well too, just trying to decide how I'm going to pose him, he's not a showdog so don't think a stack shot will suit. A couple of friends have requested Shelties so I guess I better get lots of practice in. Didn't do a great deal of reading before this one so have to do more research on different effects and the best way to go about it. SparkyTansy, I'm not very creative but this was so easy although I did break 10 needles the first night and had to rush out after tracking on Saturday and buy myself a supply, Saturday night I only broke one, or was it two. But I guess when you sit up till 3.30am each night you forget to follow the rules of felting and therefore bust your needles. Not broken any the last couple of nights, so definaitly getting better and in bed by 12.30. Tonight is going to be an early night.
  21. It was my weekend project, couldn't afford the ones I saw on the internet so decided to give it a try and that way I could make it look more like Jenna (that's why it has the two white spots on the back of the neck).Googled on the internet to see how they did it and what I needed and then went from there, I am quiet happy with my first attempt but I can see plenty of room for improvement with my next one. Yes it is felting, mind you I broke 10 needles the first night so went out and bought a whole pile more and have only broken one since, so I'm getting the idea. Gizmo is my next project, had trouble finding the little noses and eyes and then when I found them the lady in the shop gave them to me for free, not just one set, I think I had about 10 or more sets, it was so nice of her. Now I know they are the right size might have to go back and get the rest as they were a good price even paying for them. Size wise its about the size of a CD case.
  22. Just thought I'd share my new Aussie addition. ETA Whoops took forever to load and then came out twice.
  23. Just thought I'd share my new Aussie addition.
  24. Yep, was even thinking that if I didn't already have so many things to do on weekends I would have to find a gundog breed to try retrieving, do you think I could discuise Jenna as a gundog breed? 'Cept of course I wouldn't be any good handling dead things, although I would have fun shooting the shotgun. Hey, by the way what has happened to all the DOLers who were doing Tracking? Haven't seen any of you for a few weeks.
