Marrow bones can be teeth breakers as they are usually weight bearing bones and very hard.

Bdazzled in the WA thread was getting sheep horns before the Agility Nationals and selling them as a fundraiser for the Nationals, they looked like they would keep most dogs chewing for a while. Perhaps inquire are your nearest knackery to see if you can procure any.

Stunning white Sib, love seeing all the more unusual colours in the breeds, most of them are lovely.

Wuffles she actually looks like she has some light shading over her eye and extending down to almost her nose on one side or is this just the photo giving that impression. A cryptic merle perhaps? Looks so much better with the dark pigmentation, and safer in our climate.

:p Often tell my parents that if they had been dogs I would never have bred them, given what they produced. Me included.

thanks i have his papers back and im sure i joined as a full memeber (single member)? I would love to do the show training lessons but unfortantly i cant as my hubby is away during the week (works away) and i live in Baldivis im trying to learn as much as i can online and practicing at home. I migh try and head up soon and have a look. Hi Tsars Mum and welcome to DOL. You can start practicing by teaching your pup to stack (stand with front and back legs staight and level with each other and get him use to having his mouth inspected as well as his testicle area (boy dogs to check the testes are there). You will find it easier to assess that you are doing this right if you practice in front of a large mirror so that you can see what the judge will see. Also practice lead work, pup trotting on lead not pacing, pulling, dragging or mouthing lead and handler moving in a straight line ( I still don't do this well ). You want to practice walking a straight line up and back, doing a large triangle (ie head to the two corner posts or the ring and then back to the judge) maintaining the dog in view of the judge at all times if possiable. You may be able to find something on Youtube to assist you too as sometimes its easier to understand if you can visulise it. Entries usually have to be in about three weeks in advance of the show being entered, sometimes longer especially with big shows, ie Western Classic and the Royal where they have to be in months in advance. The class you enter is dependant on the dogs age and this info will usually be on the reverse of your entry form. Babies aren't expected to perform as well as adults as they are after all just babies but you don't really want to take them into the ring without training either. All dogs must also be fully inoculated before attending any canine club activity. On the day of your first show, dress smartly with sensable footwear, arrive early to set up, collect numbers and prepare your dog. Take time to see how others prepare their dogs of the same breed, but be aware that as they will be busy with their own preparations they might not have time to actually give any advice at that time, but hopefully may be willing to give advice later. Watch the judge in your ring to see how he/she likes the dogs to go round the ring ie up and back, triange etc. When it gets close to your breed be ready and listen for your number being called, you want to go into the ring relaxed not rushed. If your dog doesn't place or place as well as you hoped don't worry sometimes it is just that you are up against more experienced handlers or your dog hasn't peaked yet. Remember that either way it is only one judges opinion and we all go home with the BEST dog regardless. By the way puppy pictures are mandatory here on DOL :D so that we can all get a puppy fix, so we look forward to seeing pics of your furbaby soon. :p

My first thought whenever I see smoke in the general direction of home is sh..t, did I leave the iron on or something on the stove. Once was out shopping and had been for a while when I remembered that I had put some chick peas on the stove to cook, left my shopping trolley in the middle of the shop and bolted for home. Got myself really upset as was conviced that the dogs were going to burn up becaused of me be absentminded. Luckily just a smelly, smoky house and a ruined pot, but took me a while to settle down and go back for the shopping.

valley CBR hope your feeling better soon.

It is near Red Hill (Pechey Road and Taaffe Road are the ones who have been told to evacuate)... so the National Park area there. Firies were getting set up when we drove past our way to work this morning :D https://internet.fesa.wa.gov.au/alerts/Page...spx?ItemId=1096 vCBR, bugger about reacting to anitbiotics Hope you feel better soon. Where is that in relation to you Mirrawee? If you need any assistance let us know.

My Papillon use to get bad tear staining until I changed him to raw feeding, now his eyes are great given that he is an old dog, (as seen in my signature). A little Apple cidar vinegar in the dogs water can help as well as it balances the dogs PH levels. Avoid kibble that has beet juice in the ingredience as apparently this contributes to tear staining .

A certain puppydog is 6 years young tomorrow, geez the time has flown wish it was only her 2nd birthday. The dog in question is hidden under here, guess who?

Welcome You won't find many dogs in Perth city as most people live out in the suburbs. And those who do live in Perth live in apartment buildings and would be lucky if they are allowed dogs :D I am also reasonably sure that dogs aren't allowed in Kings Park because it is a "National Park" which in Australia = no dogs allowed. Hmm, we did need a house sitter towards the end of November, but found someone this weekend! Hopefully you find something I need lots of healing vibes to go to a foal that I bred but is owned by a friend of mine (and she owns the mare and leased the stallion - I just was leasing the mare at time of service...). He was born last night and basically has the equine equivalent to Rhesus factor in humans and so his Mum's colostrum is essentially poisonous to him And because his Mum was very collicy after he was born and wouldn't let him drink he had 400ml of her colostrum tubed directly into his stomach as at that stage it wasn't known So poor little man is under strict observation as while he is fairly strong atm he could crash fast Awe, poor little fellow, hope he and mum are ok.

Love the look on his face, speaks volumes.

There is a dog under there, somewhere! Jenna is so patient when it comes to dress up.
-
Aawww, that is just too cute.
-
Woohoo, congratulations Wazzat Xolo, on your lovely grandson, even better than puppy cuddles.
-
Oh, Tiggy and RSG I'm so sorry, Shimi was such a little cutie and we were all looking forward to Shimi cuddles, hugs to both of you at this sad time. I'm sure Pea will help ease the pain a little and be a very special puppy.

My sister was telling me that the school gardener told her to use a salt and vinigar mix and spray it directly on the weeds, apparently it works well is totally safe around kids and animals and is much safer than poisons that can hang around for a long time. Does recommend that you avoid too much going on the soil though as you don't want to affect the soil balance. I think from memory it was something like a cup of salt to 5 lts of vinegar.

Great photos, I want Shimi cuddles, hope she has a great trip, I'm sure Tiggy will have plenty of toys at the ready.

Sending out of Perth to Melbourne is normally cheaper than flying into Perth. More freight goes into Perth than leaves Perth so outbound freight rates are cheaper. As a guide Airport to Airport (16kg-pup and crate total weight) Perth-Melbourne Pup in new (purchased not hire) PP40 crate $155.00 whereas Melbourne-Perth the price would be around $175.00. Obviously the heavier the pet and crate being transported the greater the price variance. As for flying out of Canberra, you are limited to Qantas/AAE as Virgin do not fly unaccompanied outbound pets. AAE can be a bit pricey to forward pets out of Canberra. Geez! I'm I reading this right, that sounds way too cheap.I enquired last Christmas about sending my roughly 18kg bitch to Melbourne for a mating and was quoted $600 odd each way. Who do I contact about getting my dog transported for these rates and more importantly are they good at looking after the dogs being transported. Based on the information that you have provided: Airport to Airport (18kg dog + crate (allowing approx 17 kg-for either wire of vari kennel)=35kg) Perth to Melbourne $261.00 including crate hire of $55.00 Melbourne to Perth $424.00 including crate hire of $55.00 Note: If your dog could comfortably fit within a PP40 or the soon to be released PP50 crate-82cm x 60cm x 60cm) significant weight reductions can be obtained and lower the prices further. If you have a few dogs and look at a fair amount of transport think about purchasing your own suitably sized vari kennel or PP crate, the initial outlay will be recouped with savings made on transport crate hire fees. Currently I sell new PP40 crates at $55.00. Prices of the new PP50 have not been released yet. Those rates sound so much better than what I got quoted, sending my girl interstate for mating may not be so far out of my reach now. Not sure of the size of a PP40 but the other one sounds like it would be extremly large for her, she is only about 18 or 19 inches at the shoulder. Is it OK to send you an email Wayrod to get a contact number? Not sure yet when I can send her (seasons and my finances aren't always regular).but would like to be ready to use your great rates although I understand these may vary by the time I'm ready.

I use to make alot of my own training treats and then one day the young girl that was showing Jenna for me at the time, popped one into her mouth (use to hold it there until ready to give to the dog). Well she popped it out so fast and has sworn off EVER doing it again with any of MY training treats. My dogs love them, don't know why she had a problem with them I have even been ambushed by strangers dogs for my treats. NO WAY I'd ever put them near my mouth though....

What, my sweet well behaved ever so quiet Trixie, NEVER! she would NEVER do that, she is just TOO GOOD to do that. Luv's ya Trixie! Don't listen to your mean mum, come live with me. :D

Yeah that's fine. Showing is so boring on your own! So I am glad agility is on at the same time. I will chack in K9 tonight wat time the show starts and I have to be there at least a half hour before (for once can't they go reverse alphabetical ) cause I am first in for Gundogs. Haha, know that feeling as often the Aussies are first in group 5, unless people like Mirrawee bring Banjo along. At least showing a group 1 P.... dog allows for a sleepin.

Kenz is very cute You can see Spryte in her OzJen, love Jasper's video. My only suggestion is to make sure that you seperate "back" and "turn" Don't always do them one after each other Yes, I was thinking the same thing when I watched the video, don't want him doing both at once when he gets into the agility ring, could defeat the purpose. :D I find that I pick up on quiet a few mistakes that I make with training when I watch the videos. Get frustrated with myself when I watch them as don't always pick up what I'm doing when I'm training.

One day................. it will be our dogs, or at least your one.
