  1. Riva of course, but Xavi is beautiful too. Just something special about Riva. So sad that Riva is not staying but know you will find the perfect home.
  2. awwwww. one day i will now if i had 1.7 mil to buy my dream property i would get one. doesn't really want to agist. dream horse a bay/chestnut gleding with a blaze on nose. reasonable size as i am short somaybe 15 hands? stock horse for pleasure or a jet black arabian (will be saving for many years for this fella ofl) Sounds nice, but my ideal is or was in Mirrawee's paddock, she knows the one I mean. But alas I never see me being able to afford a pony and given the vet bills that Mirrawee's ones run up for her I don't see anything changing in the affordability stakes.
  3. I have the block and the price of this pony (pure arabian filly) is incredibly good... but I don't really need another horse Was funny, my Mum was saying it would be hard to get it past my Dad... but he has no idea of which horse is which let alone if a new one came along Put it in the paddock when he's not around and if he says anything, its been there for ages and ages. :D
  4. :D and you didn't get one for Banjo, it would have looked so good on him. :p
  5. Quiet a few people in the canine world thought my sister and I were Lesbian lovers rather than sisters.......while I love my sis, I have to wonder how they come up with that as we do have quiet a family resemblance. We have a good laugh about it as we are both single and hang out alot together and even with family the other is always jokingly refered to as our other half. No harm done as long as there isn't a cute single fella getting the wrong idea and it gives us a laugh. :D
  6. Sorry I didn't get by to say hi, days seemed to dissappear so quickly and every time I saw the X dogs I was over the other side of the ring or they were in the ring or I was preping dogs or wondering if my rings were going to clash. Could never see you when I was that side of the rings.
  7. I remember once when I was a courier driver in the country that there was a snake in front of me when I was driving and I automatically closed my eyes because I figured that I couldn't miss it. Then I turned the car around to check and it was gone so I spent the rest of the day jumping in and out of the car from a mile away(with a puppy in my arms as my dog use to come with me) as I thought it was waiting curled up under the car for me to put my foot down so it could bite me. I also use to drive with the windows up on stinking hot days with no aircon because someone told me that they can get flicked up into the car if you run them over. ;) I guess it shows how scared of snakes I am.
  8. So sorry about OH's eldest sister, Mason 2009 my thoughts are with you both. I would love to go too but the $'s are way out of my price range, so the others will just have to tell us all about it.
  9. RosieFT, go for the scaletrix, every boy, hhmmm, man dreams of having a scaletix set of his very own, the immitations just don't cut it the same way.
  10. What cheeses me off most at dogshows is that my male pup thinks I'm his personal lamp post, has been cocking his leg since 11 weeks, hopefully he will get the message soon.
  11. Geez, those fires are too close to the houses and people for comfort, I'm guessing too with the number of cars that alot are sightseers, don't people realise how quickly things can change and that firefighters have enough to worry about without having people hanging around. If the fire suddenly started in their direction imagine the confusion of everyone trying to get away, I can understand the people that live there hanging around as long as possiable but the others should stay away. Hope they all stay safe and no lives are lost. Firefighters are real heroes, can you imagine how hot it must be for them, let alone the risk they take.
  12. Flyte took out Best in Show at the Collie and Shetland Sheepdog championship show on Sunday so he excells in several fields. He is a sweet fellow.
  13. Woohoo, congratulations Mason2009 and Mason, may it be the first of many.
  14. Hope your daughter is OK, Emery. Sending cyber hugs your way. WazzatXolo, I'll be down at Bunbury for both days so I'll come and say hi.
  15. Get well soon Lincon, sending hugs and cyber treats. Mas2009 the chiro I use is Kevin Kelly, I haven't got his number handy but he will be in the telephone book, he's in Ascot just behind the Macca's store on Gt Eastern highway. He does the racehorses but is also very popular with the dog people and is very accomadating with times, often whippping up from the racetrack to manipulaite dogs. He only charges $20 and does it in his front yard and although I was a bit skeptical the first time we went he worked wonders with J's dog and there was a marked improvement immediatly. Jenna's been a couple of times too, usually the only way I know she is out is when she starts to refuse to do Agility, although we didn't alway realise at the time. What is wrong with Mason??
  16. Steve, According to the date in the PDF, this was released in the leadup to the gazetting of the new docking laws when we were all closely observing things but we didn't come across this PDF. Are those minimum standards for dewclaws enforceable under POCTA and/or DFNAA ? (If so, by which clauses?). CC Here in WA no vet will remove the dewclaws before three months and then only under a general causing so much more risk to the pups and a more substansial cut. Given how little effect it has on a pup when snipped at a couple of days old, you have to wonder how they are thinking. Personally I wonder how much vets play a part in this decision making process as they can make more money if the pups have to wait so perhaps they are advising the powers that be.
  17. Thanks for the wellwishes all for the little guy, he is back to his bouncy self today and has forgiven me. Amiepie I would love a little of that stuff if you wouldn't mind although I hope I never have to worry again. Rach, what about an afternoon picnic/BBQ in Joondalup there is a lovely park/lake there where if you take some sunflower seeds all the parrots come and land on you to get them, 28's, Galahs and Corellas from memory, makes for some great photos although your arms can get kinda scratched up. If you have transport, theirs an excellent miniture villiage in Mandurah and if you can get as far as Bunbury early in the morning (like 7am on the beach at Koombana) you can have a very close encounter with the dolphins unless its changed and it has become regimented like Monkey Mia. I think you can get the train to Mandurah and a bus or shuttle runs to the miniture villiage, might even be able to do the same for Bunbury but that might involve an overnight stay to be there early enough for the dolphins although there is a place you can stayopposite the beach where they come in. Sitec can be quiet interesting too as can be the musem.
  18. Had a very stressed evening today when I fell asleep with a certain dog on the loose and awoke to find a chewed up Voltaran blister pack. Didn't know if there had been any tablets in it or how many but figured I better assume there was and act quickly. Figured his best chance was if I could get him to vomit as soon as possiable as I figured that by the time I found a vet open it would already be to late. Siringed salty water down his throat which was not easy (little bugger can squirm) and at one stage he went stiff and collapsed and I was sure that there must have been tablets and that I was going to loose him. Grabbed him up and started rubbing him and he came out of it, think he either overheated/overstressed or possiably started to choke on the salty water. Finelly got through to a vet practice but the vet had aready gone so spoke with the vet nurse and she said that if he hadn't brought any traces up when he vomited it was unlikely that he had ingested any to just keep an eye on him and that the vet would be back in an hour to see some breeders if there was a problem. Got through to another vet practice and they said much the same thing, that given I had succeeded in getting him to vomit and that there was no trace of the tablets the best bet was to continue to supervise him for any changes. Thought about driving up to Murdoch but given that I would have to drive and keep tabs on him at the same time (J wasn't home) I decided the safest bet was to trust what they were saying and moniter him closely, and given that after all this he was still with me I figured that the pack must have been empty. He was having some one on one time so at least I knew which dog it was, it was hard enough with one I hate to imagine how I would have gone if I didn't know which of them had got to it. He is now resting after having had lots of cuddles from his very relieved Mum. Not usually careless with tablets especially with a dog like Jenna around who likes to steal and eat everything but I had grabbed a couple of tablets as I was leaving for work the other day and in my haste I must not have been careful enough or had registered that it was empty and not put it away again.
  19. Rally fundraiser, what rally fundraiser? last time I tried this I stuffed up more than the dog. :D
  20. An unpleasant part of life is the difficult decisions we have to make along the way, how we handle them makes us who we are. You've made a brave decision for the welfare of your dogs, I know it wouldn't have been an easy one.
  21. Not sure. If it weren't for the lack of dog trials and jobs, Tasmania is looking enticing. I could afford the large property I seek I want to move to Tassie to . My sister just came back from a week in Tassie and wants to buy land there, at least 20 acres, so I could build a house there to. She said they liked a place called 'crackpot' . The weather suits me and the dogs just fine . Yep, I've been there, Lower Crackpot, if I remember rightly it is near the Promised Land. Just had to go there with those sort of names, although the country side around there looked lovely too, but then it did in lots of Tasmania. Only trouble with sharing land is that you still have to be able to get permisson to have more than one house on it, something which isn't always permittted no matter how large the land area because of zoning.
  22. Quick give him my address, would love someone to rock up with a whole cow to fill the freezers. J (sister) was upset with me when I looked at all the calves in the fields and said one of them would be a good size for my freezer. She said "but look at those sweet little faces, how could you"and I said "the farmer can put bags over their heads I just want the meatiest rump". Not fooling myself, those trays of meat in the supermarket had sweet little faces too and my puppy dogs who would enjoy the feed have even cuter faces. Sorry little calves.
  23. Not sure. If it weren't for the lack of dog trials and jobs, Tasmania is looking enticing. I could afford the large property I seek Yep, I'd move to Tasmania if it wasn't for all the family being here. Beautiful place and reasonably priced R/E. Don't think there would be alot of issue with ticks there, too cold for part of the year.
  24. Why is it that if a dog is debarked because it is a proven nuisance barker then it is okay but if it is debarked without proof it is a cruelty crime especially if the dog is then shown? Isn't the operation the same in both cases? Why is it then also cruel to show said dog? Not keen on debarking but can not see the laws logic on this matter abit like its fine to band sheep by the thousands to dock tails but not to band pups to dock tails, same procedure . Its okay to castrate pigletss without any form of pain reduction but not ok to snip dewclaws of pups ( instead a GA when older and a bigger cut) Why so many double standards, if any cause suffering then it should be stopped across the board not changed case by case. While I'm glad that things have been settled for Judy I still do not believe she has been treated fairly in this matter and it should never have happened. The powers that be have alot to answer for and I dread them getting any more power than they already have. Who next and for what?
