I've just started using my OH's mothers dog to teach her to get a beer out of the fridge to finish off my course assessment. THis dog has HUGE food drive which is great, but she's not really swallowing the food. Rather, she INHALES it and coughs and splutters and usually the treat comes back up which she quickly scoffs back down. I was using small dry biscuits and changed to small balls of wet food to see if that helped (looks just like these in this link Treats) and she sounds like she is going to die. I wait for ages in between treats but it doesnt make a difference. Any ideas?

I know you said you dont like muzzling but if you did it then it wont be able to bite so couldn't you continue doing the dog then? I dont know what its like to be a groomer but just curious.

I think i will go, only about a 30mins drive for me. I have no idea what lure coursing is but looks like fun. How on earth do you get a dog to want to chase a plastic bag? Can you give me any tips and do's and don'ts so i dont look completly like a fish out of water and acting like a newb?

Thanks stonebridge, vet said its sprained. But she's very sore over the top of one of the toes, its not out of place but she is looking much happier this afternoon.

Yeah i was reading a few horror stories regarding them online. No painrelief, we both agreed it would just make her run around more, i've crated her because she just doesnt stop (runs down to the front fence, then up the back to check on horses then over again)

thanks, i want to the vet, fortunately the vet reckons its only sprained as she was putting a bit of weight on it today. Some of the vets I rang said that if its broken it would need a cast

THanks elfin, How much do x rays normally cost? Is it neccassary to x ray? I'm pretty sure the pain is localised in the foot, I can manipulate the elbow and shoulder area fine. And there is swelling above one of the middle toes.

My parter called me to tell me that Kaylah was limping after jumping out of the back of the car (not moving) after doing groceries. One hour later I get home. She wont bare any weight on it, if walking only very minimal pressure. She is licking the foot over the toe area constantly and it is sore to press the middle toe. Could she have broken it? I will be taking her to the vets in the morning. Just wondering if people might think it is. Ute tray height is about 1.3m

Cups I have ordered from America. No where in Australia makes them. Also, you can only get plumbers T's so cant get crosses, 3 way or 4 way joiners either. I thought about cutting a T in half but they're tapered so didnt work.

Two months to go today! Daisy and I need two more months to get ready :D I went to video a training session with her today, I set up the camera outside and when I came back inside to take her out, she had managed to get the training treats I'd just cooked and cut up (beef sausages) and ate almost all of the container She still worked ok considering she had a full belly... yes this is the dog I want to trial with :D ha ha ha greedy guts little daisy. We're meant to get ready?!?!?!?!?!?
